I'm really not the person to start this thread due to lack of knowledge but it feels like we should have a list of companies not to fuck with.
Whether for bootlicking, predatory behavior or anything else.
Edit- anything else...related to moral values. Maybe not dumb graphics or bad haircuts.

Just not a fan of the graphics, too corny and Zummies for me. Andrew Schultz reps them and he's an amazing artist. Why not pay him to do graphics? I don't think his company Space Pupil is going any more.

I thought this would be like a black metal “sketch list” that you check out so you know which bands to avoid if they connect to racism in any way. I’ve dropped a few bands because of these lists after initially liking their sound
This thread shouldn’t be a list of brands that are just lame or cringe, but to actually be informative it should call out brands that are involved in “sketchy” shit

I know there are watchdog groups who keep up with local & national businesses who support maga an other nefarious organizations so that you don’t unknowingly fund companies you’re morally or ethically misaligned with. I was kinda hoping that’s what this was gonna be but for the skate industry. Not “I don’t like their videos or their product doesn’t appeal to me” but I guess I didn’t read

Any/all of the companies I mentioned were because I don't think they offer anything valuable to skateboarding. There are just too God damn many companies.
However, I will walk back There since they did put out that video last year that had some decent/cool stuff in it. I like Chandlers skating in general, and poes part in that video was interesting.
I just saw some of their graphics recently and thought they were all stupid, so that's what was most fresh in my mind when I added There to the list.
Sorry to upset all the There fans, idk I would be taken so seriously tbh lol.

They have all the talent they could ever need, but the products are all stupid. The videos look like over produced crap (primitive).
Maybe they could join distros and be sister companies? Then maybe pick a clear lane for both brands and have some more cohesive art direction? Idk.

Jaccuzi isn’t bad, Louie is genuinely a good dude and what was a rough role out I think it has turned around and aged well these past few years. Zander, Tony, and dilo, are awesome.

Is that where we are? People can't agree to disagree?
No freedom to think for themselves?
There is nothing and no one on either side of this stupid fucking political divide that completely agree or disagree with, I have my own opinions, both sides have gone too far, both sides are very wrong-headed on things, but both sides, in my opinion are right on a lot of things as well.
Just because someone voted for a candidate you did not endorse, does not make them a baby raping monster...or a bad person in any way, they just have a different viewpoint.
Why can't we all just get along????

Me and several of my friends have been running Quantums for years now and we all prefer them over swiss. I clean mine regularly but many of them don't. Had atoms since summer 2022 and isotopes since mid 2023, both sets are pretty much as good as new.
Also way prefer the lube they sell over speed cream, its thinner and doesn't make your board sound as soggy after putting in a drop or two.
I'm be pretty harsh on my bearings and even swiss/swiss 6 would seize and go to shit in a year or so, despite cleaning them.
Don't recall what happened with that thread, but I've only ever had good experiences with the Quantum dudes and their product. They've also hooked it up with replacement shields n all whenever I've emailed them.
*disclaimer - I got an ultrasonic cleaner around 6 months after I got my first Quantums, so maybe that contributed to them outlasting my swiss which I only ever cleaned by shaking them in a bottle with 99% Isopropyl/Acetone. Still, its the longest I've had a set of bearings hold up by a landslide

There was a post after the thread was deleted expressing that they acknowledged that was a mistake. I’m pretty sure the intent for the thread came from a genuine interest and excitement about the subject.
The amount of generosity of product and support that they have provided to the skateboard community locally and nationally is nothing to wag a finger at. The loss of 50 pages of accurate data about bearings is frustrating but not worth being put on the same list as human rights violators and abusers as I perceived the purpose of this thread to be.
