don't remember seeing this before, so good. Was he supposed to get on Baker and didn't or something?
-
i don't remember this coming out back in 2016. What happened with baker boys? no visa?
-
Beagle editing to this song is still genius, to this day. bring the emotion

This is practically a classic at this point...
Nosegrind 1st try on Walnut is insane...
If I remember correctly, he was getting boards from Dustin but it was basically Sinneresque flow...
-
Bro was skating the gnarliest shit with the ugliest Baker boards. Respect
-
Was wondering why this never made it to YouTube, I figured it was the song. I go back to this on Thrasher often.
I remember he said in his Bunt ep the hat flying off on that big boardslide was the moment he decided to join the bald club.
-
This and “White Flag” have songs that can never be be used again by anybody, in any area of human activity.
-
That nose grind was first try??
-
so good.
thanks for posting, it's been a while since i've seen this. 10 years probably
-
That nose grind was first try??
Yep, took a while to commit if I remember correctly, but took the first one all the way down...

This is another great part from around a similar time
-
That nose grind was first try??
Yea
Long time ago Chima tried front board and broke his wrist, got back up and got it
Im honestly not sure what’s gnarlier out of nosegrind and front board on that rail. It looks stupid high
I’m gonna say front board gnarlier but it’s close

Right at the start when he goes dark slide on that rail and you can see Geoff Campbell filming and just pissing himself with laughter - that bit will never not be hilarious to me

Would you rather die smacking the back of your head or your temple? Too close to call honestly.

He fell victim to the existential crisis years of Bakerboys in that period, and got spat out to Zero. A true Aussie battler who’s gone about it the hard way. We love you and are proud of you Gabbers.

Nosegrind is gnarlier. I know a lot of good skaters have nosegrinds on rails on lock, but on handrails nosegrinds are more difficult than boardslides. I cannot think of any famous rail that got nosegrinded before a it was board slid.
To me that nosegrind is the gnarliest handrail trick ever done, but I am also scared of even trying to nosegrind a Flatrail.
-
I was just talking about worst case scenarios, but yeah, I agree that nosegrinding a 20 stair seems even more difficult than front boarding it. Though Gabbers was never a huge front boarder, was he? I remember the odd one here and there, but none on really big stuff.
-
I watched this over the weekend and was so confused about all the baker boards also. I did not remember that.
-
the first try front nose down walnut has always blown my mind. Love Gabbers.

Yea you’re right everything gets boardy first, nosegrind gnarlier
I think Shane’s nosegrind on el toro was first try too?

gabbers is truly at his best when edited to epic emotional 80s bangers

nosegrind down a big rail seems one of those that you better stick first try or its gonna be the hardest battle
-
imo front nosegrind requires more precision / easier to make a mistake on, but front board is scarier cause you cant really see where you are going.
-
Baker really fumbled it by not putting him on back then. At least now they've seen the light and have put on more riders not from California.
-
That was a great watch.
I'd only remembered the first try nose grind, not sure I had actually seen those two oceanside hubba tricks before - feels like if I had I would have really remembered them.
Flip bs 5-0 on that tall rail was really cool too. Not sure what it is but that's a spot I always appreciate seeing tricks on.
Gabriel is or should be considered a legend.

This part is a great argument for a slimmer pant looking better

I was waiting for the Australian 5050 where he runs into the parked car. Obviously not the same part - which one was that?

Not sure which part it was, my skate memory from the 2010s is a blur

Whoops… parked cars.
