i skate my board til it fuckin looks like a busted bisquit..........i don't need a nice looking board like many others to roll....baby..thizz or die all the way from florida you beezy fa sheezy.
-
i work at a shop so im spoiled rotten when it comes to gear.
-
9/10, i'll skate it until it breaks or even if 5 of the 7 plys are cracked i'll still skate it.
-
i skate them until I can afford another.
-
I fucking hate razor-tail.
-
i skate it til the shape or the sides of the nose/tail are fucked up and splitting. then i get a new board and focus the old one.
-
Skate it until you want another one....

It depends. Usually until it breaks. I've skated boards that are cracked in the middle, chipped on the nose and tail, and the grip is pretty much all skated off. I was good on it though, since it was a gradual change.

I do agree

A deck isn't really broken until it's snapped in two, and you can't pop + land anymore. Which is how mine must be be before I set up new one.
Though, when my deck is getting really haggard, I'll try to skate bigger stuff (4 stairs) to try and finish it. I love landing tricks with board that's ready to snap.

since i got a job, i ussually buy one every two weeks or so. i dont have anything else to buy with the dough cause i dont have a licence or anything. i ussually chip the nose really bad or have massive razor tail by then anyway.
Im too light to snap a deck. only done it twice.
-
once I crack a board I'll usually go out and order a new one. hopefully the board lasts until the new one comes....although last time this happened Lance sent me one priority and it came in two days!
on another note, I wish I could show you all how fully fucked my trucks are. over two years old, and they're clinging on with five pieces of hardware. matt rodriguez would be happy!
-
i go through about 1 to 2 boards a year; I go through dry spells where i don't skate for months.
-
i usually get one every 2 weeks, then hand the old one down to someone i skate with whos younger and has no money for boards/shoes. my love for new shoes and boards works in his advantage.
-
never till it breaks since ive only broken 3 boards skating.
Usually one every 3 or 4 weeks for me.
-
until i can shave with it.
-
All my boards break, it's just a matter of when. Nothing lasts me longer than 2 weeks unless it's the winter and I'm only skating my ramp..

i'm always surprised to find that people who go through boards often go through a similar amount of boards on the ramp in the winter. I guess is just that coming down real hard on the board, regardless of what type of terrain you're skating
-
every 2 weeks on the dot....................i'm a baller so fresh boards are a must.
-
I pretty much always change the board before it breaks, I do it when it looses the pop. Basically because I'm too much of a pussy when it comes to jumping down some stuff.
-
Being a 120 pound weakling, I skate my boards until like 7-9 months or of course till I want a new one (that doesn't happen a lot).

im pretty much always skating a board i grabbed from someone else so its usually in pretty good condition but im known to skate a board till there is no nose left and the tail has no griptape. this probably explains why i only skate sidewalk height manual pads and dont pop any of my tricks......
-
skate it til it breaks. then hang that shit on the wall.
-
I do it when it looses the pop.
Yeah, you can tell when it starts to feel like a soggy french fry that it's time for a new board. That and/or when the nose and/ore tail become a trapezoid.
-
I skate it until it looks like a piece of shit.
-
if i'm skating mostly street spots my board is done in a few days or a week. if i'm skating smooth ground or skateparks a lot then they can last me three weeks to a month. i hate getting my griptape dirty and if i chip my board its pretty much done. that being said, i have only been skating about once a week for the last few months so i have a month old board that's just about ready to be changed out. in 13 years of skating, i've broken maybe 5 or 6 boards accidentally. you just have to land on the trucks.
-
i usually skate better once my board is cracked a little bit.
-
every 2weeks or so
depending on if im jumping down gaps alot..
flattening out boards sucks and so does chipping
luckily shops hook it up nice with discounts..
-
i NEVER buy a deck unless my old one has my foot through it

Break or soft, whichever comes first. 3 or 4 bottom laminates worn, time for a new board.

same. once you can't get that nice crack sound when you pop an ollie, i start saving up.

120 pounds or not, what do you skate.....once every 3 weeks for 20 minutes?
-
maybe he just cruises? has a job that only lets him skate once or twice a week? skates on and off?
-
i work at a shop, so i usually get a new board every 2 weeks. to make up for being spoiled, i do hook up some of my friends struggling to pay rent with my used decks.
-
Sometimes a board will last me a really long time. Like a month and a half to two months. Sometimes I will change boards for the most inane reasons. Don't like the colour of the top ply, didn't notice how big the nose was until I gripped it, skated a new spot and got wax all over my grip.
Actually that's the one right there. That's my answer.
"skate til it breaks or"... until my griptape gets dirty. I've bought a new board when my last one was only two days old, but I got some dog shit on the grip. Fuck that. Just sell the dog shit grip board to some kid for 3/4 what you paid for it and get a new one.
-
I'm going to start getting eBay blanks I think.
When you think about it, the concept is great for most SLAP pals. Most posters here don't need very durable decks -- the ones that ever did jump down big sets of stairs mostly stopped a long time ago. I know I don't break boards very often anymore. But for me, it's important to have a new board with it's fresh shape because I skate a lot of ledges, flat ground, and manual pads.
-
I'd have to agree with pretty much everyone's reasons, but I haven't ordered a board online, or on fucking ebay (or anything on fucking ebay). But I also try to save a complete for rain/shitty weather.
-
I bout 6 alien workshop boards off ebay for $100. Still got a few if anyone wants them.
-
i scrape through all my tricks so i get razor tail in like 10 sessions....it's terrible....
-
until the pop is gone or it's flexed out/soggy.
-
no pop left = new board
-
If my board is 2-3 weeks old, then i'm sad. Same with shoes. Fuck!
-
sometimes if my board isnt even that old and i get a new pair of shoes..i just have to get a new board
-
sometimes if my board isnt even that old and i get a new pair of shoes..i just have to get a new board
really?
to me there's little worse than having to break in a new board and a new pair of shoes at the same time.
-
That shit's easy to work in. Unlike fucking trucks.
-
Skate it until it gets soggy and cracked.....If my tail goes razor then I just do more fakie and nollie....Usually I get a new one about every two to three weeks
When your trucks and wheels are nicely broken in, a new board is the best feeling in the world....
-
i've never broken a board in 20 something years(i land kung fu) so its a non-issue for me.
if its razortailed i switch it up. i've gotten cut way too many times off that BS.
if i'm skating a lot(5 days a week), a board will last me 3 weeks or so but i try not to spoil myself with new stuff all the time.
-
I've only broken like, 10 decks skating. Cracks are obviuously happening way more, and that's when I usually move on to a new one. Unless I'm really not feelin' whatever the hell I'm not riding and I'll probably just get mad and focus it. If somebody like, asks for it before I snap it they nab a free deck.
-
until i have the money for a new board wich is usually after it snaps hah
-
shoryuken you've gone from - 306 to - 603 in like 2 days.
kook madness.
-
I usually break them before i get razor tail.
-
i skte em till they are cracked enough that i can feel the flex when i pop. usually 2 weeks to a month max. 1 week if im dumb enough to try lipslides on rails
-
Pretty spoiled too, cheap product= buy more of it. Prolly get a new board/wheels every 2-3 weeks, sometimes sooner if skating some harsh ass shit.
-
Till they get soggy.
