damn that was sick. o'dell's intro was pretty funny, because it's definitely been an episode i was waiting for that i didn't think would ever come about. it's funny to step back and realize what a polarizing figure he's been in the past year or so, and to hear what his approach to skating actually means to him. popps rips.

sidenote: a couple of my friends visited pappalardo's pizza while visiting new york and i guess asked the owner if his son was anthony. he said yes, and i guess when my friends told him how much they liked anthony's skating, he got all hyped and called up his wife so they could repeat it back to her. pretty sick.

If it doesn't work when you load it on the site, try this.

1. Click on the "embed" button on the page and copy all the code.
2. Open up notepad and paste it into notepad
3. File>Save as, then call it whatever you want but with ".html" and the end i.e. "pops.html"
4. save it somewhere you can remember it easily, like C:\pops.html
5. open up your web browser and type the location into the address bar, like for the above example you would type "C:\pops.html" but without the quotes
6. enjoy the episode

He has a speech impediment and makes excuses for sucking. I don't see how you can respect this guy. I also want to point out that he had the audacity to insinuate that his part would be the only watchable part in 10 years. This dude is delusional on so many levels.

my english isn't good enough to hear if somebody has an accent or is talking in a regional slang.

i am born i poland for example and learned german when i was six years old. and i don't have a polish accent at all. so i wondered if he could have an italian accent if he was born and socialized in the us.

yes, as well as hearing fat bill talk about him, how skating is in new york. "I go out with a camera light, I mean who else has one of those?"

Gotta say the best was all the unused Popps footage that collected over the years. So great to see that skateboarder cover, even if it wasn't the greatest quality. Is most of this footage in Finally Flared? Maybe it would be worth picking up...

Thanks O'Dell for going through with this, and Anthony for coming out of the closet so to speak. Can't wait for part dos!!!!

That ad is actually fucking amazing. Looking foward to seeing that in the flesh. The episode is sick as fuck too. It's here: www.oceanhowl/blogspot.com (http://www.oceanhowl/blogspot.com) if Vice is still playing up for anyone.

Anyone else wish the next Pops part would be anything other than the fully HD Chocolate video? I'd love for Fat Bill to put out a video of offcuts, outtakes, and new shit. Dude must be sitting on a goldmine for the years he put in with Workshop etc.

You say that no matter who it is, you don't even have opinions you just agree with whatever's put infront of you. Fuck you.

Pops is a loser. While the rest of the team was busting their ass to make a great video he sat around in New York being a lazy fuck. After wartching the Final Flare Documentary and hearing about the shit they went through to get the footy they wanted, then listening the Pops talk about how he'd only film once in a while and didn't take it seriously... it just confirms my feelings that he's nothing but a bum.

It's also funny to listen to him contradict himself, talking about how some people have no originality, then admitting his part was mostly basic tricks. What a prick. I'd like to hear about the exact reasons he got kicked off lakai.

so having fun while in a stressful situation makes you a bum?
carroll even said he hated how filming became.
im sure alot of people wish "including myself" that videos would be more how they used to be
waiting 4years for a video that has had hype for 3 of those years is pretty ridiculous

You're regular, no one in FF was "trying to change skateboarding", that's just crap people labled on the video when everyone was hyping it up. They just actually cared about their parts and worked hard at it. And it's not like that video was some kind of revolution, the kind of tech skating you see in FF has been going on for years, just look at any of Daewon's parts since Rodney vs Daewon to present day.

Don't make excuses, Pops is lame.

He has the best job in the world. He's getting paid to do what he loves. If he can't put in some work and push himself to put out a good part, then yes he's a bum. No amount of stressing out would make being a pro skateboarder not easily worth it.

i get the feeling thats because ty and alot of the other ff filmers were out in cali most of the time and didnt want to come out and film him
and if they did they'd only stay a week or so
you cant really blame him that he didnt film much.
guy mariano is out in cali filming with ty 24/7 on HD cameras
and pops it out in nyc filming bro cam on new spots

i guess pops has something people want to see
seeing switch 360flip noseslide shove out on a shin high ledge doesnt make me want to go skate
seeing someone crusing down the street ollieing over bars and grinding anything insight just gets me more stoked

it sounded to me like carroll was pretty bummed on what FF had become. i feel like if everyone else had approached the video the way they saw fit, the video would have still been totally rad, just in a different way. that's how i saw pappalardo's comments, that he wanted his part to be true to his approach, and not beholden to the whims of all the skate nerds saying FF was going to "change skateboarding forever."

I'm all for the basic skating of Pops current direction. I liked hearing about how he saw the video and his place in it. I mean, I wish they'd kept a bit more of his footage in, and it would have been nice to see a couple of lines, some flatground, and even a manny or too in the mix, but for waht it was it's still the only part in FF I still regularly watch.

Oh and that dude has a killer fakie 5.0 fakie flip out I would have loved to see during a line.

I'd like to see another Pops part, of similar stuff to his FF (or Mosaic) part just a minute longer with a bit more shit in the mix.

For that reason alone I'll let the whole Cons thing ride, just so long as we se a promo or something sooner rather than later.

I get the Pops hate, It's just not where I stand.

Nor am I in the bum anything the dude does gang.

I'm just a "fan" hoping for more of the best.

Bad attempt at sarcasm. Those tricks aren't that hard or uncommon.

post up some new footage or stop saying shit isn't hard. You always talk about spots like they're all the same thing, like every bank to ledge spot is the same as every other one in the world. Although, I do agree with you that its not unheard of or uncommon.

and pops quit lakai, didn't get kicked off. same with alex, watch the other lakai episodes.

You can be original and do simple tricks, originality is definitely not defined by who can do the most tech shit out. he never said his part was better or worse than everyone elses, just different. but yeah, I don't know why I even decided to argue this shit, cause it'll never matter or change anyones creepy, over passionate opinions

What else would you guys be talking about? Pops is a boring ass dude anyways. His whole outlook on skating is doing simple things.

Maybe I hate too much on him, but it still pisses me off that he didn't even wana leave New York while everyone else busted their ass on the road. I think he's just lazy and uses this whole "get back to basics" shit as an excuse. He acts like he doesn't even want to be a pro skateboarder, which would be fine by me.

Hey gravel pitch, you should avoid topics about skaters who you don't like. Popps does basic tricks in a very advanced manner. For example, a nollie bs 180 is a really basic trick, but Popps does it over a high ass bar into a bank. That sw bs 50-50 he does in mosiac and the bs 50-50 he does in the following clip are both super sick, and if you did them on a funbox at theberrics then it would be a basic trick. His line in I.E. is sick as well when he does the nollie flip, ollies up a ledge, and then crooked grinds that shit forever. To me his style hasn't changed, he still sounds the same as when he did back in the day. If you add up all his video parts, all his tour/demo footy, and all his ads, Popps has a ton of stuff, the guy rips. You are a fucking person hating on that bs 360 kickflip he does in fully flared.

I like the dude simply because of the way he does things. This epicly later'd show delved alot more into that, and I'm loving it. Its a quality of style I enjoy in alot more people than just professional skateboarders...

not to mention, I check his part in photosynthesis every day for the fakie crooks, fakie 5-0 line at love and the popshove it nose manuel revert at flushing..dude is one of the few people in skateboarding I can feel happy nerding-out over.

He has a speech impediment and makes excuses for sucking. I don't see how you can respect this guy. I also want to point out that he had the audacity to insinuate that his part would be the only watchable part in 10 years. This dude is delusional on so many levels.
how are you going to attack the guy because he has a speech impediment? its arbitrary man, its like someone saying you cant be respected because you are black or because someone is disabled. take a lesson from pops, maybe i am looking into him to much but look how he pauses before he says something. he thinks about what he says before he says it and in turn doesn't sound regular like you do. you are the delusional one, show me a better looking switch shuv nosegrind, with a hardflip manual before it. also important to note it was at a real street spot and not in the berrics

Everything about you fucking sucks.

he was just using the menikmati thing as an example. skateboarders will praise something then two minutes later hate it. we're skateboarders because we reject the normal. baseball is boring. basketball is tedious. football is slow. we all thought the rob and big skit in the dc video was fucking great but then they get a tv show and its the 2nd worst thing to happen to skateboarding. (behind sheckeler... maybe bam too) I dont know why kids skate now but I do it to break free from normal society and to have fun. My favorite time to skate is lunch time in any downtown because i'm out there having fun surrounded by suits stressing about lunch.

I think with the Menikmati thing...he was using that as an ex. of when dudes try to make a SUPER-EPIC video that will change skateboarding, it inevitably gets old after a month or two, just because of how skating is...it changes so fast, trends and shit...the DC Video is another example of this, I think...
However, there are some intentionlly progressive videos (such asVirtual or basically any Ternasky production) that have stood the test of time...

But why exactly should he "Work hard for it?" It's just a skate video, was anyone really expecting some really tech shit from Pops?
[close]

I didn't say he had to put out a tech part, but listening to him talk about how he "just stayed in new york" and "we filmed for a couple days then we wouldn't for a long time" makes me hate this dude. If everyone had his attitude FF would have been a peice of shit.
[close]

i get the feeling thats because ty and alot of the other ff filmers were out in cali most of the time and didnt want to come out and film him
and if they did they'd only stay a week or so
you cant really blame him that he didnt film much.
guy mariano is out in cali filming with ty 24/7 on HD cameras
and pops it out in nyc filming bro cam on new spots

i guess pops has something people want to see
seeing switch 360flip noseslide shove out on a shin high ledge doesnt make me want to go skate
seeing someone crusing down the street ollieing over bars and grinding anything insight just gets me more stoked

i wouldnt exactly call bill strobeck bro cam. also, speech impediment? i think the word you were looking for is dialect.

hi, first post...

I think Pops's part is great because he has understood what most people want of pros. They just want to see them cruising. That's why people love so much the FTC videos: not the best tricks, but the best vibes and flow. I think a lot of people will prefer to watch the short clips on Crailtap (like the 4stars catlogue shooting..) than the FF parts: they just motivate more to go out to skate. The best clips of MJ i've ever seen are the ones were he's cruising and doing "not so hard" tricks (i.e. Man Down)
As for him staying in NY and not traveling, I think that then again he has seen what people expect of him. People want to see him in his environment. Just like we want to see Oyola in Philly, Puleo in NY, Stevie at Love Park, Kenny Reed at some crazy exotic spot. That's why some of FF parts were weird: there was no more this LA vibe that a lot of people enjoyed in the past Girl videos...
I'll still watch Pops' part in 10 years for the very reason that he his not doing trendy tricks or crazy combos that will look cheesy in few years. I think the harder the tricks are, the less stylish they are likely to be and his part is a good example of that.

Nevertheless it would have been cool to gratifiy us with a longer part and more coverage because one Gino is enough...

Usually I talk shit about Pops, but that was a pretty cool episode.  I agree with what he said about Menikmati.  That was the first skate video I actually bought, and I watched the shit out of it.  The music sucked though, and there was so much slow mo that I can barely stand to watch it these days.

I still think that Pops is a pretty lazy professional skateboarder, but now I also think he's a pretty rad dude.  Plus, that ad of him 50ing up that handrail is tight as fuck.

I rather hear Pops talk for 10 mins about his skating then Gino talk about his life. I really don't see what yall see in Gino. He just a lazy guy who is great at skating that doesn't feel like going outside because he through problems. Problems! I don't see how your best friend dying 10 years ago (I know he didnt die 10 years ago) or you doing cocaine blunts all day years ago makes you not want to be a working pro.

As for COTG, I understand what he is saying about pops. I love Pop's skating and such and his part in FF was one of my favorites but why would want to see some guy kickflip over a pyramid and land on really hard ground when you can watch Mike Mo Nollie Tre down Carlsbad? (COTG's Point of view). It's actually a very good opinion in my eyes, I disagree but a least he has a point.

Also I try not to look at Gravels comments since his post confuses me (my problem).

pops and wenning are the two most influential skateboarders in my skateboarding. i don't give a fuck what any of you think about the two of them, i'm speaking from 100% personal preference. the problem is location. if you're not from here, YOU DON'T KNOW. you think you do, and you may even appreciate it, but it's not the same. watching pops or wenning crush jersey, philly, and ny when i was a kid meant more to me than any trick in the whole world that probably meant a lot to some of you. why? location. i'm from here, i skate here, and i love it. when i was starting out, these two just started getting a little bit of coverage, and both got on alien which happened to be the ultimate company at the time. to me, THAT is the way skateboarding should look. again, personal preference. if you're from san fran, i bet you can name two skaters who came up when you started who really got you so hyped to a point where you'll never bad mouth them. or even if you're from anywhere in the midwest, same deal. that's the problem, no one puts themselves in a different perspective in these gay ass arguments. its just "NAH HE SUCKS," or "NAH HE RULES." honestly, i haven't done a nollie heelflip noseslide since '02, because i think it's gross. but i didn't type in COTG's thread with that trick in it and bad mouth him, because i understand where he lives and his mind state. who am i to tell him to just go faster and minus the heelflip because a good nollie noseslide feels better. am i lazy for thinking that? to him probably yeah. but then again who is COTG to tell pops to add a flip and go slower? see? pointless argument. we are all products of our direct environment, and the sooner that everyone here realizes it, we can stop arguing about the way pops skates.

I disagree with Pops' statement that he's glad he didn't know anything about Fred Galls personality when he was a kid and that's the way it should be with pros.  All of these segments show how many interesting personalities populate skateboarding.  Even if I don't like their personality (most of the time pros are self-aggrandizing, overtly pretentious and hilariously unwilling to admit the humor in their occupation) it's still interesting to watch.  I love Pops' skating but he seems a little too serious...

I think he just wants to keep it pure and simple.

Put in a skate video and watch dudes skate spots, grind ledges, jump down stairs, and have it set to an enjoyable soundtrack. I don't really care either of what these guys order at Starbucks or the last concert they went to. You know how they say skaters can be one dimensional, well this even more so because all it is is just the skating and no lifestyle. Pops might have a really interesting lifestyle but that is not what is important to him as far as his skate career, its more about going skating. Skate, skate, skate.

Anthony pappolardo's job is to be good at skateboarding.

once again your wrong.
anthony pappolardos job is to sell his sponsors products. hes not a contest jock skater like you wish you could be.

i understand where you are coming from though, he puts himself in the spotlight so ofcourse he is going to be judge. its unrealistic to think EVERYONE is going to like him.

but just like him, you put yourself in the spotlight and everyone is telling you what they think and instead of just facing the facts you have to be a pety bitch.
im not trying to change your opinion like everyone else on here is, im just trying to help you understand why people on here dont like you and that you need to grow up.

Anthony pappolardo's job is to be good at skateboarding.

Two things you are incapable or unwilling to understand:
1) Style matters and not everyone has it.
2) The fact that street skateboarding is dependent on spots and every place has different spots.
If you are trying to do a line that involves skating through traffic or grinding something really chunky and tall on a crowded sidewalk, you are purposely being stubborn for not taking that into account.

If he popped out to the side it's gay. If he went up all the way it's kind of tight, but at the same time that's all he does.

what the rest of the world -- but especially norcal barneys and east coast headz -- group as the all-encompassing aesthetic of southern california's spots is actually wildly off-base. aside from san diego county, gated communities along the coast and the far-flung homeowner start-up bedroom communities of riverside county or whatever, the whole sterile/white concrete thing/modular city planning mostly doesn't exist. for the most part the sidewalks and streets are just as bad as the east, most schools and buildings are just as old and mediocrely maintained as the rest of the country, and if you have even a basic 'skater's eye' understanding of urban -- or suburban -- layout, you will easly find alot of amazing, untouched and aesthetically-pleasing spots that are imperfect and hard to skate. i guarentee that anthony pappalardo could film an entire part to his liking in downtown santa ana, orange county, usa. shipping yards, civic buildings, all mexican neighborhoods, industrial areas, rural anything, ditches, all old los angeles suburbs, and anywhere with a chunk of the population below the poverty line: hello sailor. i'll agree that it's the linear progress, kayo-type dudes like our pal child of the ghetto that ignore all the amazing spots for the butter bench that help to perpetuate the stereotype, but the bechipped shoulders of the 'crusty' so-fr-real dudes highly fictionalized the reality of the situation.

I lived in northern Virginia/DC area for 20 years of my life, and have lived in LA for 6 years now and the concrete that LA offers for the most part does NOT exist on the east coast.

Wow this thread is getting huge, I had no idea people cared so much about this dude.

For the record here though, most of my statements are aimed at his attitude about skating, and not so much about his skating it's self. While I do get pretty fucking annoying seeing ollies and 50-50s from him in almost every ad, he has put out some good shit. Overall though I see him as a lazy pro who's got no drive, and I don't care if you understand what I mean or not.

Also, stop hating on COTG so much. You guys say he's ridiculous because of how critical he is but you're just as ridiculous getting emotional because someone talked shit on a pro you like. You can talk shit on my favorite skaters all you want and I'm not gonna take it personally so why is this turning into such a big deal?

Now you got the idea Nick. Skateboarding isnt about fun...

Skateboarding is about being the best, its about proving to all that you are better than everyone else, its about doing the same tricks as the next guy, just down one more step. Its about winning all the contests and getting the most unrelated sponsors that you can. Its about banking that dough and Xgames and mountain dew gold medals!!!

/sarcasm.

I REALLY hate people who think skateboarding is about one upping the next guy, getting sponsors and trying to make money. It makes me sad to see kids skating for the sole reason of trying to be "professional". That thought was the furthest thing from my head when i started skating.

you haters dont know shit about the spots that Anthony Poppalardo skates. If you ever go to New York,
and see the spots that he skates you wouldnt be hating on shit. Just a few examples are, his first line in mosaic when he ollies over a bar then right after ollies over another bump to bar. THATS CRAZY SHIT! also the steps he bluntsldes in FF into the cellar door in mindblowing! in order to skate that spot, you have to ride on a foot wide ledge or else you ride into dirt, the ledge doesent grind for shit, and theres a 2 foot gap in between the ledge and the cellar door.

"not trying to change skateboarding" reminds me of some go-to line politicians like to use. Like when McCain thought if he could just keep saying "maverick" over and over people wouldn't call him on some of his bullshit.

SLAP has now adopted this pseudo-political mentality where you can't say certain things, and anytime someone calls you out on something you just repeate your go-to line.

You see his job is not to be good at skateboarding, his job is to stay marketable. And because footage of Poppalardo is few and far inbetween, people still want to see it no matter how "bad" it is. I mean look at how many people love/hate this episode. And love hate is what sells.

*I enjoyed this episode and his skateboarding.*

I sort of have a feeling that none of the people involved in the making of Fully Flared ever wanted to 'change skateboarding', there's a huge irony in that they started to feel major pressure to push the limit, and that a fair chunk if not most of that pressure came from what was being said on the slap message boards. Maybe if there was average or mediocre hype about it on here, there would be more night NYC footage from popps and less slo-mo everywhere else.

But, who am I kidding, its Lakai. I hope the hype about crailtap on here is fading with those guys, because they're in for the same shit with the upcoming chocolate video.

I just want people to realize that if you haven't been to the spot, then you can't always judge the tricks legitimacy. There's been countless occasions where I've seen something in a video, gone to the spot thinking it was gonna be a lot easier to skate and "woah! this is huge!" or "wow this ground is so rough", or "wow there's like a foot of runway." Cameras can be deceiving.

It's weird how defensive these two Pops episodes seem. It's like the whole point of them is to defend his Fully Flared part.

There's definitely a place for more low-key video parts that aren't so trick oriented - hell, the first Stereo vid is still one of my favorites. But I guess how you feel about Pops's part in FF depends on whether you see it as a deliberately cruising, style-oriented part like, say Ethan Fowler's from A Visual Sound, or whether you see it as Pops basically just not trying as hard as everyone else in the vid.

Either way, it's kinda weird to see a pro taking so much time defending a video part. But I guess it must kinda suck to be the one guy in the video of the decade who is perceived as not having come through at the same level as everyone else, whether it's true or not. Which really just comes down to a matter of taste, like everything else in skateboarding.

wenning had a recent interview somewhere, i can't recall what in, but he basically said how pappalardo was bummed they picked wenning over him for habitat and after that happened pops never spoke to him.  he seemed bummed in the interview they weren't still tight.
I can believe that. You can definitely tell he's a hater from episode one.

side note, is that "Hi hater." in your avatar from that hip hop song? i was watching the BET countdown on new years (c'mon, who wasn't) and that video came on. all i could think about was your damn avatar, and how much that song fucking blew.

Part 3 is just going to be all new footy from Pluhowski.

Yeah, imagine how sick that would be?

Anyway, that episode was rad, and I thought it was only going to be a two parter, so I'm stoked for part 3 next week. I think he seems like he's got his head screwed on, and for those moaning about him defending his Lakai part... maybe he wouldn't have had to if a bunch of fucking tools hadn't put so much shit out there about it.

He should defend it because that part was sick. It just wasn't what everyone was expecting. Plus if Ty hadn't have been a fucking person and kept for of the stuff he filmed in there it would have been even better.

I'm having mixed feelings about this, and it leads me to believe that Pops was right.  I don't really want to know anymore about Anthony Pappalardo.  The first episode was like, I just want to skate and do stuff that I think looks cool.  Now, it seems like he's kind of a dick.  Dude hated Wenning for doing a kickflip.  Now, he hasn't talked to him for five years because Wenning got on Habitat?  That's pretty lame.  I hope the third episode is just ten minutes of ollies.

I think theres ALOT more to the story then what people are saying.
1. When wenning said he hated him I doubt he ment litterally? I know when me and my friends fuck around and try the same tricks and one lands it first we talk shit to eachother. But its not like we "hate" each other.
2. Anthonys living in NYC for how long? about 5years... I dont think wenning lives in nyc so why would they hang out? And why would anthony care that wenning got on habitat? He rides for plan b now and anthony rides for chocolate.
3. Whats going on in this thread is exactly why anthony said he didnt like doing interviews. People will make up whatever they want due to lack of knowlege of the skater.

but thats just my opinion..

and with the kickflip thing, wenning basically admitted that he snaked it from pops. anthony was trying it and bailing and then wenning just rolld up and does it before him. if you didn't know someone and they did that to you, you know the first thing you would od is get pissed at them. it can completely be seen as one-up man ship.

My take is that they just went different ways in skateboarding. Pappalardo moved to NYC, took his skating in a different direction. Wenning continued being a douche bag/drunk fool and stayed in South Jersey. I'm sure it's not like it's on purpose that they haven't seen each other in 5 years, it's just that they haven't run into each other. I'm sure there's no bad blood. Wenning seemed bitter to me. Seemed to be hating on Paps skating of late.

these videos are crack. i get worried they are the last one them im all psyched when it says  . . continued in part . . .

i find it amusing that pops says: i hope you would change (how you skate), and it's a bw vs pops episode again, as if to say, wenning still skates the same five tricks.

that's probably how it went down . . . pops seems like he just didnt want a part in this rivalry. ty says it all, he can be as tech as he wants if he wants . . . but he's just making his own way

It's so rad to see outtakes from Photosynthesis, and I guess a bit of Mosaic. I want more though...

I'm hoping there's a whole episode on Mosaic, and then the switch from Alien to Chocolate (that's a pretty big deal really) and maybe even a final one on Lakai/Converse. It'd be good to see even more unused footage too. Especially more recent stuff.

Wenning's just bummed that despite the fact Pops has simplified his skateboarding he probably sells more boards, and is definitely getting a decent paycheck with Converse. Wenning was fucking amazing. But while everyone is moaning about Pops having a lackluster Lakai part (which is regular in itself) where's any new Wenning stuff? Or at least any progression?

I'm so surprised we're getting a minimum of 4 Pops episodes. Who'd have thought it...

Totally not feeling Wenning lately. He should probably think before he speaks sometimes...

That said, I know EXACTLY what Pops is saying. I had plenty of "skateboard" friends when i was 14-15 years old and nowadays I couldnt even imagine hanging with them. We were all just SO different. But when there is only like 5-15 kids that skate in the towns nearby, you make due and latch onto each with the bridge that is skateboarding.

Of course we'd be friendly now, but they just wouldnt be people id want to hang with everyday again.

This has happened to me a few times over the years, too. You start to skate with someone every day for some reason, maybe your schedules are the same, you dig the same spots, you just click. Then you just drift apart at some point, nothing dramatic happens but you just realize that at the end of the day the only thing you had in common was skating. And there's nothing wrong with that, it just happens, that's life. I see one of those dudes around sometimes and we say what's up but we have nothing in common except that we shared some good times skating ten or 15 years ago.

I love these episodes, so good on many levels.

Did something beyond just drifting apart happen between them? It all seems really tense, particularly Wenning.

wenning just seems bitter in general. definitely getting no sympathy in these episodes. on another note, anyone know what happened to pat corcoran? i saw a little footage of him in there just hanging out at bill's house, always wondered what was up with him.

wenning seems like he's talking shit on pops and his skating in episode 3.  i find it annoying that wenning hasn't changed as a skater at all, and cute that pj ladd has replaced pops in his life.

guess he needs a quiet guy on his side to go out skating!

Thaqt's probably it but in the part where they show Wenning's switch back 180 over love, he says that they were at love and not even talking anymore. Just seems like something happened.

And I just want to add that from these episodes, Pluhowski seems like a fucking rad dude.

springsteen should write a song about anthony and brian and their NJ-based (kind of) saga

ps. I still have that Kalis board with the owl--I left it out in the rain in the backyard mad times so now I just use it for transporting huge pieces of rubble at the foundation spot

Wenning's just bummed that despite the fact Pops has simplified his skateboarding he probably sells more boards, and is definitely getting a decent paycheck with Converse.

I thought Wenning seemed kind of sad about the whole thing and pretty nice. While Anthony comes off as somewhat callous.

In the video of his house on the planb site wenning said his nj board is the best selling Plan B board ever so I think he is probably selling a few decks.

i think a lot of people were hating on pat because they thought he was only a handrail skater, and i heard that he just got over the whole microscope that is the industry. he's prob just ripping on his own.

a month or so ago at love cops had just rolled through and i was hiding with my friends at municipal services. saw pat skate by and went into the park to skate but after 5 minutes of sitting, he just peaced. wished he had came 20 minutes later when everyone was skating again, might have got to see him skate

Am I the only person here that realizes that wenning thought they were really good friends and not just skate buddies.

Brian Had the best selling board on plan b at one time. I'm sure pops boards are among  the least selling boards on chocolate.

Its so easy to loose touch with people. It's part of life. I'm at a point in my life of reaching back out to people that I went to highschool with that I haven't spoken to in years. But I think as an adult you gotta succeed some way in life and maybe the skaters you used to skate with, you just saw your self not going in the same direction as them, and that seems to me whats going on here, and skaters should respect eachothers artistic expression, aka don't be hater. I'm starting to feel old facing 27 this year, and as I continue skating I definetly am way more patient of other styles of skating compared to when I was SIXTEEN in '98. Fucking shit man, 2 things about this shit, imo

Brian needs to grow up

Anthony should've had a few more techer tricks in his part

or maybe that's just how wenning interpreted it. if at the time he was acting like he is in these interviews, pops probably just had the good sense to avoid him.

also, it's funny what wenning says about how pappalardo probably doesn't enjoy skateboarding all that much anymore, because in the new wallride, there's a nice little pops interview with an awesome quote: "skateboarding still gives me a lot of what i need."

I agree. Wenning sounded bummed when he mention the "skate buddies" quote. That was some wack stuff. Someone pull the interview up if you can.

Also not one person seems to have any backage or logic to the jealously thing so please step down from that.
