i'm all for girls skating, the only beef i have is them taking up rosters spots from guys who are actually out there killing it. I've always felt if a company wants to sponsor a girl/girls they should make either a girls team/division, that is unless the girl is actually good enough that she is on par with the ams on the team. Other than that chicks should skate if they want, I just find it the one of the most unattractive things in the world for a girl to do.

Other than that chicks should skate if they want, I just find it the one of the most unattractive things in the world for a girl to do.

I was like paddle? Then she kind of shows me, laying on the board on your stomach and paddling like your fucking surfing, hahahahahaha.

Lower center of gravity gives chick footy a bootylicious flavor. The common denominator is that they go just fast enough but not pro speed—except Elissa.
The ratio of male to female trick skateboarders is at least 100:1 but if it were 1:1 you have to wonder how many top pros would be women?

Just a quick question
I heard Jen O'brien was with Navarette and the Bob stole her. This also ruined Nav's career as a vert skater because him and Bob had beef so they never entered any of the same vert contests. Since sponsors and everybody like Bob they would rather have him in than Dave, so he was pretty much banned.
Hard to explain, but is that true at all?

I wish more ladies skated... I've known a few, but it's just so damned rare. Sometimes it seems like skateboarding is more of an old boy's club than anything other activity of its type.

A lot of girls I see skateboarding are 14 year olds that mostly use them as fashion accessories. They get all dolled up or whatever 14 year olds do and go to the park to talk to dudes, skate for 10 seconds, and talk to people some more. I hate that crap. They don't do it for the love of skating.
Every once in a while I will go somewhere and see a girl just goin for it and it is kinda akward but really cool to see. Just don't ever say anything to them like "your the best girl skateboarder I've ever seen" because they will nicely say "sorry, but I don't want to be a good girl skateboarder. I want to be a good skateboarder"

elissa and marisa are the only ones on my radar hard right now. where's my girl courtney from GRO at? I know she's got some names to drop. there was this one skinny little girl rding the fuck outta the bowl at tampa. she was blazing through that thing and couldn't have weighed over 115. sick shit. i love to see girls (or anyone for that matter) ripping. you just can't beat elissa though. i'd rather see her skate than a LOT of dudes out there for sure.

Remember that it's pretty fucking easy to be a guy skater these days, it's fucking preschool. It wasn't always like that, though.

My friend's daughter rips. Much better skater than me and sneeking up on her dad, she was nailing blunt kickflips on the mini last time I saw her skate.
Anyone who actually skates is fine by me. Like someone mentioned earlier it is the girls that just sit on the ledges or use it as a fashion accessory that piss me off.
I know a lot of girls that snowboard and they always say they want to start skating. A couple have gone as far as buying boards but they just ended up in the cupboard after 30 minutes of pushing around followed by a slam.

The thing that sucks is that when a girl isn't that great at skating, everybody assumes one of these reasons is why she is doing it, and girls get vibed more than most people. I mean, think about this, nobody has once posted any girl skating or acting like that, but these "reasons" girls skate have come up a couple times. Somehow guys can skate now without being called a poser, but girls haven't escaped it.

Always wonderd about this , what exactly is it that makes it so "hard " for girls too catch up to guys in skateboarding and snowboarding , heck even skydiving and BASE Jumping girls are behind .
Do muscles play in ? isnt those types of activities mosly balance and going for it ? girl gymnasts have amazing balance so it cant be breasts and ass that throws it off that bad ?
