dude is super sick...he deserves it.
-
Didn't know people were down for Guru like this. I seen him skate once and he really didn't impress me. Maybe he was having a off day.
-
totally down for guru. awesome person, dig his skating. amount of video parts don't equate with if somebody deserves to be pro.
-

maybe he wasn't trying to win the session

haha.. i never got how people thought that way.
so he's gotta be ripping everytime he skates? remember why he started skating in the first place.
indusrty dudes like to have fun too
-
Legitimately one of the raddest people I have ever met. I was under the impression that he was going Pro in the Fall (September time frame). Either way, his skating is good, and he carries himself well. I hope people outside of Texas buy his board. His Habitat Shoe colorway looks pretty nice too.
-
stoked. he has a cool name too
-
hes sick i forget the first video i saw of him ti was a long ass time ago... i think fore and friends...
but he had this sick photo of a kickflip down a gap awhile back and it was taken frrom behind you never see photos frrom that angle... like looking down over the gap
one of the only skate photos i have up on my wall is him doing nollieflip 5-0 into a bank sequence for habittat
-
this dude is insanely good, i can imagine the footage hes stacking right now
-
honestly can't wait to buy his board, been a year or two since ive been on a sovereign deck, now with guru and grant to support... hell yeah
-
...had one of the best parts in inhabitants. pretty fuckin underrated in general...
too bad Habitat is cut since they started making shit like this:

holy shit, i have that hanging in my cube. i tried to shoot it on my phone so i could post it up but i don't think my phone has that service hooked up.
it's the kickflip at the bayou gap shot by travis howell. always loved it because it was one of the first time i saw the homies in the mags (travis and guru) and then i had heard about guru's ollie into the bayou gap long before i saw the kickflip photo. i had heard about it the first time i went there street skating and we were all just bombing the hill and didn't even think about the gap. that kickflip's not as big of a deal now that zoo york and cody mc destroyed it, but that photo is always a favorite and the angles sick like you said. had it on my office\cube walls for probably 7 years or so now and got no plans of taking it down anytime soon.
-
i remember that photo and would kill to see it again
its got to be on the internet somewhere
-
i'm trying to get someone in my office with to get a picture of it and send it to me, i'll post it up if it works out
-
has anyone seen any of his first boards?
-
he doesnt have enough video parts to be pro yet oh and gillete is a million times sicker
false
-
so daryl is not the next to go pro?
-
guru deserves every positive thing he gets, he actually gives texas a good name.
-

Of course not, has he even had an ad yet? And sleazy, I know what photo you're talking about... it was in an issue of skateboarder from about 2005 (I think), if that helps any.

Houston is proud.

you're fucking tripping. dude smells like anyone else, its not like he's some kind of hippy or anything, he's a shikh and not cutting his hair is part of his religion.
the guy is a cool humble kid with a good head on his shoulders, which is rarer than the dodo bird in today's skate industry but he's different so lets hate on him.

Congrats Guru!
Well deserved.
Someone broke the fucking Houston Curse!!!
I see Guru alot and the dude doesn't stink ahaha thats regular.
-
my friend used to haev dreadlocks and i tohught that was why he smelled bad but he cut them recently and he came over the other day and he actually smelled worse than before so it definitly has nothing to do with the long hair i think its just a non-bathing thing. super cool dude though but i can never tell him to his face how bad he smells i dont know why. i really should.

Someone broke the fucking Houston Curse!!!
no joke, unless you count darrell

Was Jeff Phillips from Houston?
And Craig Johnson?

Phillips was from Dallas, and I can't remember where Gibson or Johnson were from in Texas.

I think they both were from houston.

very happy on this news

I second that.
-
yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy
-
meh
-
People have went pro from houston, of course. BUT no one has since the Heads generation. Hence, the Houston Curse.
Darrell was close, but dude is from Long Beach.
Well I guess Ben counts too? Turning pro for 1031 is ugly though.
Come on Nate! It's your turn now!
-
durante should be pro.
-
Jai Guru deva Om

habitat/burton must be paying him a shit load of money to leave DVS.
going pro might have been part of the deal too.
-

i have no idea if anyone else said anything about this but, christ almighty. did you really stop and think about this?
do i even have to list the names of the people who have pro boards on workshop/habitat?
oh, i think guru has put some time in, but i dont see him as very sellable, but hey, that Burton money goes a long way.
-
met him once with a bunch of the other habitat dudes, he didn't say one word, think he's just a shy kid.
-
Spoke to the dude tonight. Rumor is just a rumor.
-
THERE IS NO PROOF! ITS JUST A RUMOR!!! HES NOT PRO! THE PEOPLE AT BURTON ARE NOT IDIOTS.
-
I don't like dudes with pony tails.
