i caught the reunion for seinfield/curb the other day, so i got to see & hear about what the Blacks are gonna be up to & everything for season 7.
Leon is definately one of my favorite characters in the show, so i was agreeing on missing the Blacks in general.
Im having some cable issues right now so i didnt get to watch the 1st episode of the new season last night.

I watched Bored to Death, did not like it
on paper, the program shows a lot of promise. But ultimately, the first episode flat-out stunk. I hope the next episode is better.
J. Schwartzman shoulda retired after Rushmore. It would've solidfied his legacy. Now, he tarnishes it on a pretty consistent basis.
Although i did sorta/kinda like his work on The Darjeeling Limited.

yeah, his Freaks and Geeks guestspot was awesome and funny as fuck. He seemed to do his best work when acting was his "side job" when he wasn't recording music. Then he gave up music (for a little bit at least) to focus on acting, and that's when he started picking roles that were pretty shitty. He's fully capable of producing good work . . . he just hasn't done any recently.

nah, i bought the standard original box set the day they came out. I think the Yearbook edition was reserved exclusively for members of the fanclub or something? I remember seeing them going up on eBay for ridiciulous amounts of money, until recently when they decided to start manufacturing more of them. There's like 2 more discs than the o.g. edition, and the packaging is more fancy. Every single episode of that series was a a complete gem. Character development like that is seldom seen nowadays.
I remember watching the episode where Ken finds out his girlfriend was born with a penis and thinking "man, he's a really good. He should be in more stuff." And now, 10 years later, Seth Rogen couldn't be any more overexposed. He's everywhere. I'm just happy the majority of that crew is getting work. They deserve all the money in the world solely for their contributions to Freaks and Geeks.
Even though he had barely any screentime, i was laughing my ass off everytime Samm Levine showed up on screen in Inglorous Basterds.

I love how Larry has rehashed all these old plotlines and called them Seinfeld ideas, like cutting the doll's hair or picking up a hooker to ride in the carpool lane.
Every season seems like it has to be the end because he brings it so hard. I wonder if this ACTUALLY is the end? I hope not.

he's actually pretty mellow and chill. So i guess that could be perceived as awkward since we're so used to seeing him act like a (hipster) doofus. In all actuality, he's pretty much the opposite of Kramer, really.

Very meh. Episode 8 was the weakest so far. The rest of the season was great, and "I'm Larry David, and I happen to enjoy women's underwear" was kind of amazing.

there's always ten episodes to a season. the episodes are all 30 minutes too, no commercials, y'know.

I'm stoked that LD even came back to do this season, for a while it looked like it wouldn't even happen.
10 episodes is good but 13 would be better, even 12 would be dope but he's always made the season arcs work well within the 10 episode time frame so we'll see how the last 2 episodes play out.
I think he said if they don't find a way to wind up the Seinfeld reunion angle in a satisfying manner then he's willing to come back for an eighth season, god I really hope so.
I don't see this show getting old or tiresome anytime soon where he would have to go out on top and just retire, he could easily go another 5 seasons at least and it would be incredible still.

Yes, but you discount the fact that entourage is garbage,and it takes a lot less effort to fill 30 minutes with garbage than quality.
The fact that only 3 episodes remain is a huge bummer, but Larry might keep going. He seems to always say that he thinks every season is the last, but then keeps coming up with more ideas.

Leon was amazing in this episode. Him convincing Michael Richards that the hat cured him and that if he took it off he would die was amazing. Him dressing up like he was part of the nation of Islam and passing himself off as a jew too. Basically, everything and anything Leon does is amazing, and he is by far the greatest character in the history of television.

yeah last episode was probably the most i've laughed in a long time. I'm so glad they kept leon around after all the other blacks moved out. The chemistry between those two is amazing. Yeah that Get In That Ass scene pretty much put Leon in the argument for best character in television history category.
I'm also partial to the Joe Pepitone jersey stuff and the cell phone mix-up with Larry.
If this final episode of the season ends up being the last Curb episode ever, Leon is definitely number one on the list for a spinoff, that shit would be amazing.

I think it was season four when Larry did "the producers" and the scene where Larry and Ben still get into it about Larry not wanting to get in the front seat was one of my favorites. I think Larry wants to do the show for a while. It keeps things exciting for him, he said its the last thing he wants to do is go back to just a writer.
