Just saw this was up, some cool old footage.
Barker Barrets mini ramp skating was the highlight for me.

i don't have anything against Element but it seems kind of dumb to talk about wanting your logo to be a tree because you're all about nature and the environment when you make skateboards

hahaha that's actually kinda true.
-
that's weird, i always thought the logo was a ripoff of that one paper company....
-
there were some lame ass quotes in that little clip. mike v and muska talking about element like theyve rode for them for there whole careers.
-
im not into the element image but the "sole" skating is making it hard

Very true and very funny. I wonder if any friends of the hippy companies have pointed that out to them? Curious to know their defense.

this is element jacking off in 4 parts of video. that dude talking about inventing the element logo was funny since all he did was steal it from a lumber company. i can't find their shit on the internet but they've had that logo way before element.

When was the last time Muska skated?
The Element team during the world tour video time was very good.
Kenny Hughes was very sick, that switch crooked grind especially was wayyy ahead of its time.
According to a recent skateboarder mag 15 things article, they would gladly sponsor Billy Pepper again if they could only find him... anyone know where he is/if he still skates?
Is Johnny the one Tim O'Conner referred to as "you walk in and your boss is some kook wearing a turtleneck" in an old interview?
I do like the fact that they wouldn't deal with Nijya's "litttle league dad."
These are the questions I'm asking.

I would like to capsize his canoe, with him in it.

anything that is element automatically fucking sucks the dyke except that one euro video they put out and even that wasnt anything spectacular just the one guy had some creative manual tricks

the only things i've ever liked about element are:
jeremy wray ollieing from one flying saucer to another.
bill pepper and reese forbes.
the 7 deadly sins series they did in 1999.
everything else element has ever touched has turned into fecal matter.

Boise cascades logo is identical.

Andy Stone
Pepe Martinez
Bear Hughes
Lil' Stevie
That's just to name a few. That a company could go from a team with those dudes to where they are now blows my fucking mind.

oh wow you're right, that's it. boise cascades was the result of a merge between boise-payette lumber and cascade lumber in 1957. i remember seeing this logo spray painted on stacks of wood when i was a child, and this was back in 1986 (old and fat).

Where was that JWray footage shot at? Did you see the collection of Gonz boards on the wall?
Oh and the BB ramp footy is near the end, under juniors left shoulder.
