Post by: Prison Wallet on January 04, 2010, 03:05:00 PM: I posted this question in a thread about wireless routers but I thought I'd move it over to the help section. Grim, Sleazy, or any of you other computer guys have any ideas? Here's what I wrote:

I've got a Macbook and for some reason sometimes when I turn it on it won't connect to my wireless network. When I click on network diagnostics the airport/airport settings/network settings/ISP lights are all green, but the internet and server lights are either yellow or red. When I go through the network diagnostics to try and connect it ends up telling me my network requires a password, when it really doesn't.

Any ideas what the prob might be? Usually a combination of unplugging the router/restarting the computer fixes the problem but it's really annoying.

when that doesn't work for me it usually means a saturday spent at home waiting for the ISP repair man to come by

Its a Motorola all in one cable model/wireless router. This guy:

Still, the principle's the same... I'm looking up some specs on it so we can get into the router part without breaking anything. Might take a day or two since I don't have one in front of me, but I *think* I have an idea what's wrong, but I'm not sure enough to posit it publically yet. Looking into it for sure though man.
