fans of the bass, display some favorites!
mike watt:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxqff7SC_qE
nobody plays like watt. full steam ahead! got me started on the thunderbroom.
peter hook:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYx8yW3POcg
big fat leads, one of the few bands where the bass overshadows the guitar in that regard.
charles mingus:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIf3a9FUJj4
handles those upright cables like a toy, plus an amazing composer.
kim deal:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGj9WPf3QwY
so simple, so perfect, so much bounce.
jaco pastorius:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cyw3foWTyo

Damn.Avrid..good call on Jah Wobble. Poptones was a good choice but I think this track really sets his bass into another realm all together. It' still P.I.L. though. "Death Disco".

James McGearty from the original line-up of Christian Death. Fretless.
Lady Bass.
David J. from Bauhaus/Love and Rockets was good too.

I don't know if I should like him or not. He had skills, but his statements of being a better guitar player than Jimi, I don't know.
Don't really know if he's a douche or whatever
