ironically it was a realtively harmless stingray. only one other person in australia has ever been killed by the same type of stingray.

he got the name "crocodile hunter" before he ever had the show... when he was in his early 20s he spent five years in the remote parts of the outback helping small villages by relocating large, dangerous crocodiles.... by himself, in a canoe.
the former Cash Money recording artist BG wrote a song about him years ago entitled "Rollin Raw" which really eulogizes steve irwin better than any obituary or state funeral.
