grip art is essential to any ultra badass set-up
-
i dunno man. As much as i love making some stuff for the bottom of a deck, I can't bring my self to make the commitment for grip art now a days. anytime in the past that I've done it, I couldn't stand to look at it the next day. besides, straight clean black is just so mesmerizing. like staring into a great abyss of nothingness. and then you kickflip.

smokecrack should sport this as a daily reminder of his shittiness.
-
Got to leave it as it is. If I put any effort on the griptape, my board seems to break in a day or two.
Still don't mind red top plys, tho.
-
Every time I have done something to my grip i regretted it. So just plain black, I used to have a little scratch in the back of the board to see what was nose/tail, but thats not really a problem anymore..

didnt see anything when i searched. bump it if there is.
yeah sometimes as is is the best, but i get bored and switch it up. there can deffinetly be too much going on.i think im doing something with my next board
-
i just usually spray paint an arrow to tell me which way is front

ehh you get used to it. My grip job sucks right now but I've gotten over it.

I've been gripping the my board the same way for the last 6 years, a little sliver off the left side of the tail. I've been randomly told it's call the west coast stripe...

Plain black has never really appealed to me tbh
I have to have at least a strip in front of the rear bolts, if not a few more lines
(then again I always used to sport the tiger stripe back in the day, as I heard that the combination of wood, then grip, then wood, then grip, then wood, etc got your ollies higher)
-
It's in whatever:

Had the same issue, made a few stencils and everytime I used one I'd snap the deck in 1-2 sessions. Stopped fucking with it and now my boards last. Superstition or something in it?

got the idea from Drehobl, been running with it for years.
-
i don't grip all the way out on the toe side, slightly diagonal so it's kinda like what snickers has goin, but across the whole side
-
3 straight scratched lines. One over the back bolts of the back truck, one across the middle of the board, one just behind the front bolts of the front truck. Must be at least 16 or 17 years like this.
Sort of like this

This is not even close to Randozzi's finest masterpieces.

i dont really care about my grip but i usually end up doing something to it when im stoned and bored.
you know how people spray the corner of windows white during the winter to make it look like snow has gathered, well yeah ive done that to my deck, looks nice coz i managed to fade to black rather smoothly

I thought it was the East coast stripe? I do the exact same thing but off the nose, it would feel weird without it by now.

Ahhhhhh that makes sense. I do it on the left side of the nose so I guess it's west for me.

sometimes i do four lines or sometimes the eastcoast thing is fun, cant seem to do the whole fancy grip though
