Kicks ass. Damn, you gotta love an epic song, and they have so many its not right.
Yeah, i just blazed and thought everybody would be interested. Who else knows what I'm talking about?
-
that shit is gay, witha name like raggamuffin i'd think youd have some good taste, like maybe a jacob millar thread, i hate emotional males
-
Whatever, i couldn't give a shit about the singing and lyrics, i was talking about the composition of the songs, man. You gotta respect well composed songs as a whole and not just be deterred by one aspect, i.e: Martsch's occasional high pitched singing.
And i've never heard of jacob miller, but if he is a jazz artist he should have a dedication thread.
Herbie Hancock

yeah, can't really get into any of their new stuff, but "there's nothing wrong with love" is 100% awesome.
-
by the way, high pitched is just doug's voice, man. don't bring that "emo" bullshit into it.
-

same.

there new cd i havnt even gave a try. they have some damn good songs though here and there, that one jiro tommie skates to in the board kennel video is good. i thinks its called "else"
-
Great band, one of the few bands I can count on to make a great record each time.

yeah i dunno why i put that. Oh yeahhhh i was inebriated.
-
fuck yeah i'm in that whole fuckin scene raga.
-
i wasnt really into the latest album.....a little too "loose" on the guitar solos and all
-
pefect from now on (might be harder to get into right away)
or, keep it like a secret (not a bad song on the whole album)
-
yeah weird, haven't listened to them in a minute, but found keep it like a secret and was listening to it for the past few days.
-
Keep it like a secret is for sure the best album to start out on. Its interesting though because i got into them by randomly finding a song they did with caustic resin (a four song demo disk called, not surprisingly built to spill caustic resin) called she's real. The song is actaully a cover of another bands' song.
They also have this live album that is insane-- there is a 20 minute cover of cortez the killer and a 20 minute version of broken chairs. Pretty cool if you ask me, being a Huge fan of Neil Young.
-
borrowed the newest album from library yesterday, and after one listening i think it was really good. i've never been much of a fan so i cant really compare it to older albums, just to some songs i've heard before. i'll have to look for older albums as well.

meh.

Been really enjoying this album at work lately, a mix of a band I love covering another amazing musician. Built to Spill fucking rules.

i got to see the november before covid started.
set was great but holy fuck it was long.
-
Yeah their sets are endurance tests. I saw some of the covid zoom sets, those were cool. What about Halo Benders?

There is No Enemy is my favorite album from them. I burned out on Keep it Like A Secret. There is No Enemy has more longevity. Planting Seeds and Things Fall Apart 1-2 punch? You can't fuck with that. That album is still super accessible for someone just getting into them, too.
