its all just a ploy to get you to buy some eS's.. id still be more inclined to support eS than etnies or emerica. i like the eS design team. but, its all about the benjamins.. still - there must be several other shoe companies bringing in far less profit than the eS sector of SoleTech.. i still dont buy it

I'm glad that they're releasing the Bobby part. If Es is gonna rock it for another year before they call it quits, for their last line they should just rerelease all of their classic shoes. I bet if they put out the Koston 1s, the Koston 3s, the Accells, and maybe some others, they could make some cash on the way out. Might as well since Sole Tech is still in the game, and you know the collectors would eat those shits up.

Do people just come into threads and not read any responses? Es will be continuing operations (having a skate team, putting out shoes, etc.) until they officially close up shop.

officially they say that they are going "on hiatus" -- which, if thats even going to be the case, would mean they are temporarily ceasing operations - implying they would plan on starting up operations again at some point in the future. for all we know, they could announce at this time next year that sales have been great and they decided not to go on hiatus. eS isn't going under. sounds more to me like they are just downsizing and cutting production costs

I think they said "creative hiatus." Which makes me think that they will not be putting out any new shoes, touring to make new videos, etc.
As for how much profit they were making, in the business press release thing, it said that es was making the second lowest profit of all the sole tech companies. Altamont making the least... however, their profits are like doubling every year. And you know that shit isn't going to slow down anytime soon.
What's gay is that sole tech also has a snowboard boot/apparel company that they're going to continue to run. But I guess they gotta look at it from a business standpoint if that company is making more money.

yesss!! Bobby is one of my all time favorites. Everything he has ever put out is great, as I'm sure this will be. He fits perfectly on es, it's really a shame that they are going on "hiatus".

I was in Costa Rica this past summer and nearly every surf/skateshop I went to stocked a lot of Globe's. Costa Rica has a huge surf scene with a growing skateboarding scene. A long with the SoleTec 3 Globe was the next biggest skate shoe there.
