You idiots that overuse the word "hipster" are actually worse than the alleged hipsters themselves. This is getting really annoying. According to you guys everything is hipster. (well OP actually said pseudo-hipster but whatever) Fuck off.

That's because everyone is a hipster. If you're doing something for the sake of being cool, whether it's that tight swishy pant kit Smolik's offering from Osiris, or the newest indie article in NPR. Little shit like that, makes you hip to something and therefore a hipster. It's not derogatory if you think about it.

I fucks with Hawthorne and this is a cover song anyways. It's not like the dude wrote the song.

The OG version was in Rob G's L-R-G part:

Rob Gonzalez - Give Me My Money Chico - LRG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThRiGyApvag#)

i don't know, it just looks like a bunch of people having fun. sure it's a staged video but it's not pretentious or anything. Who wouldn't want to see good skating all day while walking around hitting record shops and seeing fine women. damn...

i don't believe in hipsters. since the dawn of tumblr, facebook, youtube etc. all creative output and 'underground' pop culture is more or less immediately available everywhere at the same time and is old news for everyone after a couple of days. 'dickheads' is what pretentious piss ants are called nowadays.
saying something as silly as 'pseudo-hipster' makes you sound like a pseudy little bugger yourself.

i liked the music and the huf video.

Wow! I'm hyped on both of those videos("maybe so maybe no" and "I left my heart in San Francisco") Both cool songs but I'm really enjoying the one with Huf in it.

Agreed. That was awesome. I love the idea of San Francisco being so tied to skateboarding that a classic torch-song like that would be used in such a way. Great video.

mayer hawthorne is super good. and if you dont like the music he makes you have never taken the time to listen to old soul and funk music which is basically the root of music.

what about that post makes me sound like a moron. Do you not think mayer hawthornes music is influenced by soul and funk music? Or do you not understand what i meant by soul being the root of music? hence that soul music is often sampled and then chopped up for new hip hop/rap/r&b beats.

Probably the part where you said the only reason someone could not enjoy Hawthorne's music is if that person never took the time to listen to old soul and funk music. Ever thought maybe some people simply just don't like the sound of his music?

In my defense, I was only trying to describe what people are going to see. I like the music, and titled it psuedo, because he dresses like a hipster, but doesn't seem as consumed by that scene. I actually gave it the title because I thought that they were an odd pairing. If I didn't write hipster, someone else definitely would have.

Mayer Hawthorne - The ills (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFHSHOwEEcQ#ws)

love the production on his music, even if i think his voice can get a bit grating with repeated listening. great music videos, too.
