Basically I've gotten into finding shows I like and watching all of them. so I wanted suggestion about what shows were good, they can be currently on the air or the show could be over, doesn't matter.
Shows I've been watching a lot lately are Game of Thrones (GREAT SHOW) and The Wire (also fantastic)
-
Sons of Anarchy
Dexter
Braking bad
Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Aqua Teen hunger force
-
Shows you NEED to watch:
Shameless
Breaking Bad
Dexter
Shows that you could watch:
Homeland
Weeds
Parks and Recreation
Always Sunny
The League
-
Shameless is so gooood.
For funny shows, 'its always sunny in philadelphia' and workaholics are good really good. Eastbound and down is good too, its not pure comedy but its a comedy show.
Another show I really liked was 'How to make it in america', its a little corny sometimes but enjoyable.
-
House of Cards on netflix
Homeland is the closest thing to The Wire as far as character complexity IMO
Hogan's Heroes, who says a sitcom can't be set at a WWII Nazi P.O.W. camp
Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, Girls, In Treatment
-
I'm glad you threw in The Wire right off, because if you like that then you'll probably like Homicide: Life on the Streets. Also check out The Corner, both of those are David Simon shows too, though he didn't have much involvement with Homicide until the end of it's run, due to still being on the Baltimore Sun.

So corny they cancelled it after like two seasons
-
Arrested Development. You should watch the whole thing a few times though because there are a lot of recurring and subtle jokes you'll miss the first time or two. I usually rewatch the series once a year or so and it's still hilarious.
I also really liked Criminal Minds, but I haven't watched this season.
-
Shows that every single human being should watch to became a better person:
Seinfeld
Northern Exposure
-
Billy on the street
Kroll show
Jeselnik Offensive
-
nathan for you is the best new show
-
Angry Boys/Summer Heights High
Boardwalk Empire
Larry Sanders Show
-
House of Cards on netflix
Girls
Seconding those. House of Cards was a real pleasant surprise.
Gotta recommend Deadwood though. Probably the only show that I'd say without a doubt is on The Wire's level.
-
bad girls club and intervention is the ONLY thing i watch on tv

really stoked someone knew about the corner on here!
-
It's on HBO on demand right now too, so I've been trying to work my way back through it.

big bang theory!
gross, but to each his own I guess ::)
-
Curb Your Enthusiasm.

'life's too short' is pretty great.

a mini series like generation kill has not been mentioned? pretty entertaining.
if war and derogatory humor is not your thing, a little river cottage always gets me in the mood :----)

I've heard good things about Enlightened as well. Can anybody vouch?
Eastbound and down. The first season to be specific

-
People need to start fucking with Shameless.
Oh and "Peepshow" for anyone looking for something good on Netflix.
-
Twin Peaks
-
community
-
Seinfeld
Twin Peaks
Arrested Development
Dexter
Breaking Bad
The Wire
The X-Files
-
anthony jizzledick is a piece of shit i can't believe anyone watches him
hands down worst show ever, also can't stand the burn with jeff ross
its been said before, but workaholics is the only show I've been trying to make a point of watching when new episodes are on as of recently
-
Dude, The Wire and The Corner... soo good. I really need to start watching House of Cards since most of that was filmed in Baltimore and I know a few people in it.
For any of the David Simon cats out there, should I start watching Treme?
-
the us-shameless fucking sucks! can't believe people here are backing it. community sucks as well...
but I'm glad somebody brought up peep show. now that's a good comedy show, super hans is a legend!
I'd also recommend
Game of Thrones
The Wire
The Shield
Arrested Development
Homeland
Breaking Bad
Carnivale
-
Concur with most of the previous suggestions, but a a real gem on netflix is 'The increasingly bad decisions of todd margaret' - it's a mini series with david cross, will arnett and spike jonze (!)
-
the king of queens
-
the king of queens
do they still make episodes? leah remini has a such a fat ass
-
If they ever put Upright Citizens Brigade on Netflix I'm calling out of work....although the first season was not that great.
-

Yes. It's weird seeing him focus on a city other than Baltimore, after two long series set there, but he seems to capture it well. Not that I've ever been to New Orleans.

The comedy central show isn't on instant, but this is:

-
Sesame Street has been killing it lately.
Sesame Street: G (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hCtEbKRTRgI#ws)
-
Also I'm not sure if anyone here has ever seen the show freaks and geeks but its on netflix and its a super funny show, Bill cracks me up.
-
Trailer Park Boys
Kenny vs Spenny
-

I haven't seen this since it originally aired I think and the only episode I remember is when that kid had the giant dick blurred out through out the whole episode and they treated it like a disease, where you could call a number and donate for his cause because he couldn't be a normal kid, like right his bike and shit. I really wanna see that again.
Tosh.0 has really funny jokes and his delivery is fucking great.
The Burn is pretty good when he has come good comedian guests on the show and they go all out on each other.
Curb Your Enthusiasm for sure
The Office never disappoints.
Comedies mostly but sometimes I'll go on Breaking Bad benders and probably gonna start Sons of Anarchy on netflix.

Ah yes...the Little Donny Foundation. He has to use a special strap when he goes for a bike ride so it doesn't get caught in the gears. One of the best episodes was the Thunderball one.
Pro Thunderball (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15m_i6QPAXE#)

Some old, some new...
The Office (old school episodes)
Sopranos
The Wire
Curb
Always Sunny
Lost
The Boss
Dexter
Keene & Peele
Homeland
Six Feet Under
Not comprehensive of course.
-
Don't watch that much TV but Pawn Stars and American Dad are pretty awesome. Also The Office was pretty tight (pre season 6 of course)
-
Finished watching Luther last night
Got started on Hannibal and watched the first ep, this shit is pretty good
-
nathan for you is the best new show
Totally, and I usually don't like anything on Comedy Central.
Others:
Frasier
Everybody Loves Raymond
The Office(first couple of seasons)
Derek(new Netflix show)
Hannibal
The Following
Suits

Arthur is the greatest. He should have been in it way more.
-
fishing with john
-
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles beginning with the Classic 1987 season
-
God damn. I blew through 5 episodes of Hannibal today. Hopefully NBC doesn't pull the plug on this series.
-
the shield is the best show ive ever seen
-
Seinfeld
The Simpsons
Maury
-
Im fairly surprised noone has mentioned 'orange is the new black' I loved that shit!
-
surprised nobody has said House Of Lies, on showtime. It's starring Don Cheadle, Kristin Bell and Ben Schwartz. I think it's pretty bad ass, it has 2 seasons out so far. But this is Slap, so I feel you guys might not like a show about the 1%.
Also agree with Breaking Bad, Curb, Always Sunny, I think The Burn with Jeff Ross is worth checking out too.
Another show I really like is The Newsroom. I'm not huge on politics but I think it's pretty compelling stuff. Jeff Daniels is amazing in the show. Here's a clip of the first 8 minutes of the pilot episode.. I'm sure some of you may have seen this already.. really awesome shit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zqOYBabXmA
THEN another show that is coming to HBO that looks absolutely hilarious is called "Hello Ladies" I think everyone should check that one out coming soon..

Just started watching curb your enthusiasm and I have to that it's awesome. Definitely recommend it.
-
DRUGS INC. on Nat Geo - easily some of the rawest shit on TV. Following Drug Addicts, Pushers, Cops...
I guess a lot of these are youtube - check out how gangster the start is for "High in Houston"

China, IL on Adult Swim is pretty funny.
I don't watch much television.
-
Something tells me this will be worth watching:
True Detective: Official Trailer (HBO) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8i5CR4kDjM#)
-
I've been watching Broadchurch.
Watched an episode of Peaky Blinders, it's not as polished as Boardwalk Empire (which is the standard that I use for period crime dramas) but it's likable enough I guess.
Also got the last 5 episodes of Breaking Bad that I've yet to watch, planning to binge through that sometime.
There's a lot of good serial television being produced these days.
-
The Young Ones S01 E04 Bomb (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaPrc94sUO8#)
My uncle had these tapes when I was growing up.
Used to watch these when I was like 8... had no idea what was going on.
-
Bump
I have been looking for new stuff to watch lately and this hasnt been updated in awhile, anyone found anything good lately?
-
Finished the first season of Deadwood recently and watched the first episode of the second season earlier today. I'm inclined to call everyone a cocksucker now - such a wonderful word
Al Swearengen is one of the funniest characters, this guy's a fucking goldmine of great dialogue.
I've also been collecting episodes of HBO's The Leftovers and The Strain (on FX). Can't follow shows week-by-week. I gotta have entire seasons before I can watch something.
But the show I'm most looking forward to is Steven Soderbergh's Cinemax show -

every simpsons episode is going to air on fxx starting labor day. cannot wait. i think they will be available online as well.
watched the first episode of the Leftovers, but i stopped. think im going to read the book before i watch the show.
been banging out freaks and geeks on netflix.
still have to watch breaking bad, and the wire. im saving those for winter time.
and for those of you who have watched dexter... is it really that good? i just picture every cliffhanger for every episode and/or season being 'omg he might get caught, but he doesnt' or 'this person finds out and they might rat him out, but they dont' am i wrong?
simpsons hype.

^Dexter is one of my favorite shows ever. the latter seasons are kind of lacking but seasons 1,2 & 4 are gonna be some of the best TV you'll ever see. 3 is solid but its more of a character buildup to an epic season 4. Season 5 was dope to me as well but i guess "the critics" didn't like it and all then from there on its decent, just not nearly as good as before. Too hard to top the earlier seasons really. Just watch the first episode & you'll be hooked though. If anything seasons 1 & 2 are TV masterpieces no matter what so if you don't go through everything, at least see those two.
-

and The Regular Show, Pawn Stars, and American Restoration. They show old episodes of the 80's Transformers cartoons on "The Hub" at around midnight usually too.

Fuckin with a new season of true detective, and always sunny. I pay too much for TV when I just game, watch movies or sports
-
If you've never checked out Rectify, one of the more underrated shows I've seen. On Netflix, first season was completely mindblowing and the second I believe is up now but I haven't watched yet. Just a very grounded show about an ex-con trying to rehabilitate into society.
-
(Also he is a gay rapist)

Did anybody mention Fargo? I didn't expect much from it because of the attachment to the movie, but I honestly liked it more than I did the movie. It's weird in that it couldn't exist without the movie, but it has almost no other attachment to it.
-
I think it definitely could have existed without the film. I mean, there were a few odd remnants here and there from the film, but that was mostly there for the fans of the movie - you weren't required to know them in order to enjoy to story.
Wonder what new cast/crime they're going to have for the second season? The criminal organizations (and the criminals) in that world are so eccentric and weird. Like that super pedestrian looking office in Nevada that happened to be the hub for a network of hit men for instance (Malvo's employers).

I saw the series before the film and loved it.. definately no need to have seen the film first, after watching the tv version i went and watched the movie and preffered the Show waaaay better

Utopia is well worth a watch
It's made by Channel 4 in the UK and is quite British in style, it's darkly funny though and only 6 episodes in the first season so easy to catch up on.
Season 2 starts of with a fucking amazing origin story of what has happened to start of the events.
to give you some idea - check the soundtrack out

I guess I meant it wouldn't have "landed" without the movie. I definitely wouldn't have been as interested in it without that connection. It needed the movie to come about, in a way.
I assume the Fargo name will keep just being in reference to whatever criminal element. They'll all maybe be dispatched from that same office or something? Either way it's an awesome show is what I'm saying here.
-
True Detective is the best show I've seen in a really long time.
-
The Meltdown with Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani ; if you like stand-up comedy. Also, it's on after @Midnight (which is also great) and it's uncensored. Cursing is COOL!!!!!!

backing this show. Check it out if you have HBO and are into dramatic shows that could potentially lead to rewatching the whole series again.

I want to see Fresh off the Boat ... a total Asian stereotype show and it looks hilarious
Big Brother is always amusing
Leftovers started out .. ... .. . . .. intriguing ... they lost me
Twin Peaks is still the best
-
True Detective is the best show I've seen in a really long time.
I watched every episode, and damn it's pretty slow. Lots of waste scenes and little going on, season 2 better be good or else that show is donzo

I'm English so there might be a couple of these that aren't very common with the US guys.
American Horror Story
Archer
Arrested Development
Breaking Bad
Entourage
Fargo
Hannibal
House of Cards
The IT Crowd
I'm Alan Partridge (funniest thing on TV, ever)
Line of Duty
Luther
The Newsroom
Orange is the New Black
Peep Show
Ray Donovan
Sherlock
The Shield
The Sopranos
Suits
Top Boy
The Trip
The Trip to Italy
True Detective
Utopia
That should keep you going for a while.

^Good shout on Peep Show
I binged the fuck out of that series when I had Netflix. Can't get enough of Mark Corrigan and Jeremy and their misadventures. I'm sad that season 9 is going be the last. I kind of want it to go on forever.

I seriously want to read "Business secrets of the Pharaos".
-
I had the first episode of The Knick saved up with the intention piling of them up and binging but I blew my load and watched it. This show is fucking awesome.
It's got Soderbergh's fingerprints all over it and the electronic score is such a cool contrast to the 1900-era setting.
-
I'm gonna give the Knick a shot, but if anyone here is an NFL fan and doesn't watch Hard Knocks I recommend watching it right now.
-
The newest season of Always Sunny is pretty hilarious, these guys never run out of ideas.
-
Bates Motel just got added to Uk netflix, worth a watch? looks decent but that chocolate factory orphans face annoys me....
-
mary shellys frankenhole
-
Fargo - The FX series is decent
Ray Donovan - Showtime
Peeky Blinders - Netlfix
Bojack Horseman - Netflix
Bob's Burger's
Snuffbox
Ideal
The Shield
Whoever threw out Peep Show is on point, good stuff
The Leftovers is alright if you're bored and have HBO or HBOgo, etc.
Original Inbetweeners (UK)
Workaholics (season 5 is approaching)
-
workaholics fucking sucks. it's a less funny always sunny with more drug references to appeal to highschool kids that think that is how life after college will be.
-
The new season of American Horror Story is worth it for Dandy alone.
-
workaholics fucking sucks. it's a less funny always sunny with more drug references to appeal to highschool kids that think that is how life after college will be.
Well Goodburger, apples and oranges, and frankly you fucking suck. It's a COMEDY show. Plus Always Sunny is a bunch of douche bags who yell at each other in hysteria in between funny segments. You sound like Tipper Gore after college. Appreciate the analysis Leonard Maltin but no thanks.
So throw out some mention worthy shows or shut the fuck up.
-
The Knick had one of the strongest debut seasons of any show I've seen
If you guys haven't seen it yet, I recommend you go torrent the entire season now that it's done.
-
Fargo - The FX series is awesome
Bob's Burger's
Snuffbox (has its moments)

Original Inbetweeners (UK)
fixed.

the latest show i downloaded was "The Middle", its pretty funny/ entertaining I'm only on season 2 but i like it so far. The mom was in everybody loves raymond which i honestly think that is the worst show ever but she kills it in this show
-
LOVE / HATE
Its irish so look online
-
I try to avoid watching TV , but I sometimes download
Gotham , it seems pretty good from the few eps so far . Pretty good actors
The League , Its funny and the main chick is fucking hot , but its abit too unrealistic ,
Kitchen Nightmares UK , Back when Ramsey was more low key and its on the BBC so its not all about money and drama
The Blacklist , Abit too much hollywood but James Spader is a really good actor
True Detective , good acting , good story
I kind of want to recommended its always sunny , it has really funny moments but its alot of screaming and nonsense , and really
unrealistic .
Anybody ells kinda think the Simpsons and family guy have opened up for " real life " TV comedies to push the limits more ? make it more
unrealistic ?
-

See, now I hate "The Middle," but "Everybody Loves Raymond" is one of my favorite shows. Right up there with Seinfeld and Curb for me. I had some free month of Amazon Prime and checked out "Transparent" and that is super good. Watch all 10 episodes in one sitting. Too good to stop.

Just finished Sopranos. Gonna start watching Boardwalk empire and Twin peaks
