A portion of the proceeds from these Green Day x Real Skateboards decks will be donated to Children's Hospital & research center in Oakland. Boards are available now at Supra Distribution. Learn more at http://www.actionsrealized.com/ (http://www.actionsrealized.com/)
cool idea to donate proceeds to Children's Hospital, but why green day . . .Real has such an amazing team, I'd gladly buy any one of their boards, .
Green day on the other hand can go fuck themselves
-
I'm fairly certain Jim T. is friends with them. Wasn't it Real to Reel where he and Tommy G. had the shared part with a Green Day song? And hey, it's a charity thing, albeit pretty cheesy boards.
I saw Green Day when I was 13 during the Dookie tour. I remember thinking that shit was soft, first album was better; I guess I've always been cynical.
-
jim t's from oakland so and green day formed in oakland and the proceeds go to children's hospital of oakland.
-
Seriously guys... all of your posts have ruined my possibilities for a rant - it's a good cause then, I guess :-[
-
I hate that it being for a charity disables my ability to talk shit about how lame this is and how Real is a great company with terrible graphics.

who the fuck is the 4th guy?

my thoughts exactly

very smooth, using the actions REALized logo to keep some level of distance from their actual skate program
-

Too Short is from Oakland. That would have been way cooler.
-
I'm really glad that Green Day's best attempt at charity was through endorsing the financial powerhouse that is deck sales. Maybe their image will sell more boards to teenagers. Do teenagers even listen to Green Day anymore?
-
who the fuck is the 4th guy?
Yeah for real.
Interesting(?) fact: The lead singer is married to Steve Nesser's sister.
-
I just think is such a cool project for the kids. So cool to see companies doing this.

I'm not backing Green Day or that whack ass music by any means, but exactly have you done thats oh so charitable? At least they're doing SOMETHING.

Nope. Not sure what video that was, but I can guarantee it wasn't Real to Reel.
This board series could've been so sick if it came out 20 years ago, haha

Jim T, Billie Joe, and his wife own this record label together http://www.adelinerecords.net/ (http://www.adelinerecords.net/)

the warehouse where Jims Ramp Jam was, was also shared with green day as a practice space back in the day. so jim has known them all for a while..
-
who the fuck is the 4th guy?
He is the guitar player, he has been in the band since 2003, where have you been?

what charity would too short have.? putting hoes on the street corporation? aggressive speed running from the cops foundation? besides the high five did a too short board already
-
I mean, is a hello kitty collabo really any better? At least this money is going to a kids hospital.
-
Maaaan, that "Cuatro" shape looks so nice but I'm not buying anything affiliated with Green Day. I doubt this collab is marketed to skaters though. I feel like the average mall kid: A. Likes Green Day and B. Has more access to disposable income through their parents than the average skater has. Makes sense if you're trying to raise money for charity, though. Good on them.
-
Their days on Lookout Records were fun, and Kerplunk was a great anthem for its time.

They provide running shoes to people driving under the influence.

I'm not really trying to justify my own citizenship because I really could be spending more time working for my community, but I have volunteered a decent amount, i work at semi-lame non profit, and I donated a little bit of cash to an organization this morning actually. Hats off to real for donating their profits to something positive, but I just get bummed when I see celebrities with a lot of resources attach themselves to good causes to enhance their credibility. Maybe I don't understand everything going on with the collaboration, but I don't see what Green Day has done besides lend their image to a charity. That was cool of them to actually go and visit the kids though.

Having a taste in music, obviously. Where have you been? I'd rather buy a Boozentits board with a half decent graphic and donate that money to charity. Those Green Day ones are as bad as the band
-

Honestly, yes. But yeah, charity is good.
-
I can't wait to get the series, hang it up on my wall, then go cruise on my long board while I listen to "time of your life". Later that night ill probably jerk off to the good feeling I get from donating to the children's hospital (I mosdef won't be thinking about children)

Oh yeah, because all green day ever sings about is children in the hospital, right?

Steve Nesser the one man band? http://www.adelinerecords.net/bands (http://www.adelinerecords.net/bands)

Maybe they should have picked a cooler and/or more relevant band to do boards with. Like it's good that it's for charity, but there's no way in hell I'm buying a Green Day skateboard. Reminds me of these in a way, although these may be marginally better (debatable):

In this case, I guess Nike's raised millions of dollars and the kids design the shoes (both good/cool things), but they could probably raise even more if what they were trying to sell was more appealing or whatever. Get what I'm saying?
I thought they sewed them together?

I'd rather see a Golden Girls collab than anything. Seriously anything. I'd buy a Rose Nylund or Blanche Devereaux board any day.

Wont even touch that shit. greenday what the fuck? The only greenday song I ever listened to and not bitch out was the one used in Questionable.
Although if Creature did a collab with bands like From Ashes Rise, Tragedy, or one of those bands. Punk is dead and every crusty knows it.

Those are sick, but I'm talking a full-on guest model. Is MIA the only "legit" company-type in Miami? The gals are local legends down there. Some Florida company needs to hop on that quick. Maybe Palace could even get in on it. The Dorothy-less spin off was called "Golden Palace" when Blanche, Rose, and Sophia opened that bed and breakfast, after all.
Marketing departments get at me, I watch a lot of TV.
