Donovan dresti, and geo moya.

First: Spanky - Baker was my favourite company as a youngster and there was that The kids aren't alright article about TK and Herman getting wild whilst Spanky kind of chilled. I liked him after that.
Current: I like Alex Olson and Dylan. Except this favouritism was almost broken when I saw that AO commented on a picture of himself on that porn for women instagram. I mean I'd be psyched to get on that page but when you openly refer to yourself as team handsome and jerk each other off over ig it sways my faith a little. Luckily they both have great style and ollie really high.
Always: Gino. The guy doesn't rely on any gimmicks. Smoothest ever.

TR GOING OFF 80'S SKATEBOARD VIDEO JAYA BONDEROV SANTA CRUZ PUNK (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxaMzChAVQ4#)
-
when i was a little kid i would always pick jamie thomas in thps but when i actually got into skating the first dude i remember being so siked on was brent atchley haha. but now i have too many favorites. quimtime gonz blender julien matt rod pontus and i could keep going.
edit: peabody for all time fav
-
First (and always): Jamie Thomas --- directly followed by Andrew Reynolds and Jerry Hsu (baker 3 and bag of suck were prime when I started skateboarding)
Now: Herman, Trapasso, Reynolds, Lucas Puig, etc. There are too many.
It just depends on who's really standing out. I'm quite partial to someone like Lem Villemin who has been KILLING it for years, but stays mostly under the radar.
-
Then: Ken Park
Now: Curren Caples
-
Sorry was the first video that I actually understood. Bastien was a god to me. Mr. Dibbs turntable scientifics to some amazing board control captivated me. I remember watching that video and thinkin Tom penny was boring. But for the last 3 years and 11 years of skateboarding i know can't get enough penny footage. I don't care if someone says that the latest penny clip is disappointing, that's regular. When I'm 34 I hope to god I can still skate good. I can relate most to penny. Tall boys, mushrooms, doses and skateboarding... that was my teenage years and I will never forget it.
-
First - Pj ladd got me obsessed with tech skating. I remember always trying to find new footy of him before youtube and it was almost impossible. I then remember somebody made a whole website about him and had every footage ever of him which was a treat at the time, even when he was younger he had a gift. I learned 360 flips watching his foot placement and slow-moing my vhs copy of WHL.
Current - I really like Grant Taylor and Raven Tershy. As i got older i enjoyed tranny skating more and more since every crazy tech trick imaginable has probably already been done by lil jimmy in Montana in his garage. Its gotten to the point where tech skating doesnt even hype me up because every trick imaginable has been done and switch too. I really like skaters with control on big concrete parks and let the skating do the talking. Nowadays every skater is out for attention whether they want to admit it or not.
-
Mike V when I was a kid cuz I saw his little video they had of everyone in the thps games. Manderson is the current fav and after I saw his footy for the first time when I was 15-16 I no longer wanted to do slow rolling flatground tricks all day.
-
All the Time: JERRY HSU, the maple vid was my obsession, his bag of suck part is my favorite part ever. i could not fathom the sw hardflips over the handrail, the crooked shuv out he does on that crazy bank to rail on the loading dock baca smith grinds then pops over. i loved his stay gold part but i dont think it was as fun to watch as previous ones, though he was doing some extremely hard stuff. His intelligence shines thru his skating, and hes one of those guys who will think outside the box, mastering tricks hes not naturally good at, instead of sticking to the same formula his whole career.
Current: LUAN OLIVEIRA, i wasnt really feeling this kid until i started watching footy of him years after his flip debut. I truly believe he has the best style in skateboarding today. flick, pop, fastest catch, consistency, large bag of tricks ranging from old school to as technical as it gets. Always inventive at the contests doin cool shit. In st league during best trick he dropped in variel heelflipped onto the box of the course landed in manual, manualed across nearly the whole course up the tranny and kickflipped out. not to mention his flow section runs, and his insane nike sb2 part...haha people were even accusing nike of speeding up his clips lol. I know for a fact they did not do this, and if they were going to he would be the last person theyd do it to. i love busenitz and he reminds me of him(haters rev ur engines) the way he just skates so fast and has this giant bag of tricks that he seems to improv during his runs, throwing out crazy shit u wouldnt expect. that badly edited flip vid he did in brazil a few months ago had hands down the best downhill run ive seen in my life.
i havnt watchd much berrics this year but i hope he takes it. If you want to see some of the most flawless flatground skating w every trick done at least popped 2 feet high and 5 feet in length(best sw 360 ive ever seen on flat). checkout his latest match against gnarly ass tanner lawler, that dude is awesome too. i wish they wuldnt have gotten paired cuz tanner couldve taken a lot of the pros out on a good day
First: reynolds, of course.
-

i almost shit a brick when i watched those provost b-sides. i mean ive smoked for over ten years almost daily, but how does one get that fucking baked all the time and be one of the gnarliest most productive skaters of all time. that fs flip over the rail have better gotten him a cover on some magazine. NOBODY could do that, it made no sense at all, esp considering the janky ass run up to the short steep ass bank...wow i liked those bsides better than his part
-
First: Muska
Now: I'm not sure, its too hard to pick just one.
-
First: probably John Lucero, most likely due to graphics as opposed to skateboard stylings. I remember liking Lance Mountain, Neil Blender, and Gonz from the little bits of video and magazines that I saw.
Current: Pontus Alv. Art, diy, neck high no complies, Pontus is doing cool shit.
Always: Julien Stranger and Karma Tsocheff
-
First: Muska or Smolik or anyone from Fulfill the Dream really.
Now: Westgate, Herman and Cory Kennedy
Always: Penny. Gino. Reynolds. Oyola.
-
First: Heath Kirchart
I started skating when The End just came out. Whenever I saw Heath in Transworld, 411, etc. it was always quality / gnarly. Also, I always identified with his loner persona. Glad to see that image of him still stands to this day with the social media saturation.
Current: Dylan.
What else is there to say that hasn't already been said other than that he claims Westminster. The part of Westminster we're from you could get away with claiming Huntington Beach (literally a few blocks away), but he kept it real.
Prospect: Johan Stuckey
This was one of the random names I saw on the berrics/ride channel that I initially wrote off. I watched Cosmic Vomit 2 because of (EX-TEAMMATE) Austyn Gillette and was blown away by Johan's part / Grant's editing. The WKND boards have been sold out for some time now, I hope they make it.

I kinda wanted to say Johan too and I'm surprised he doesn't get more exposure, he fits in with the dylans and austyns (which are pretty much clones) and he was in the same video that put Blake Carpenter on the map, and that's all in addition to him being in the game for years on years, I honestly don't know why he hasn't blown up yet, he's pretty sick

I forgot to add Mike Carroll to the 'always' category. Kook freely.
-
First transworld mag I bought was the one with cardiel doing a trick on a bank . Jeremy Wray had a Pro interview in it .
He came off like a really humble and nice guy , the interview had art drawn by him , and the tricks he got for the interview
were simply mind blowing . I didnt know you could do that one a skateboard and I almost thought they were edited / fake
I also saw second hand smoke around that time and the FS flip at carlsbad was just insane , as was the kickflip he did out of the bowl and many of the other tricks he did for that part
Tom Penny was also a fav of mine , no explonation needed for why right ?
These days I cant pick , but back in the day , J wray and T Penny
-
First: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (still embarrassed), but first serious single skater obsession was Rodney Mullen.
Mid: Tom Penny.
Current: Gonz. I have a top five/ten, but it will always go back to Gonz for me now. I probably skate more like Natas, but that is why I like Gonz, because I want what I don't have.

First favourite: Muska
Current favourite: Zered/Busenitz/Desarmo
There's probably a couple video parts I could revisit that would change it up again, but that's how I'm thinking for now.
-
First: Muska
Current: Reynolds, Shuriken, Louie Barletta, Hsu, Stereo era Fowler. I've also been really into Omar Salazar lately. Dude skates with so much style and power.
-
I always liked Anthony pappalardo even before he was on workshop. There were a bunch of dudes sponsored by a shop called special sauce and he was one of them, and they all called themselves blvd. One of them showed me Anthony footage about a year and some change before photosynthesis, so I was excited for his part in that for a while.
And even thou I talk all types of bull shit, I still really like his skating. If he had footage of him doing all that shit in his instagram pics is watch that more than anything else.
I'd still watch gino too if he was actually down to go out and record something instead of cancelling on his filmers. He'd be fucked if he didn't have Nike since chocolate doesn't have him on payroll anymore.
-
first. markovich , koston, penny
always . josh kalis , mariano , mj , carroll, penny,

wait slapal andocom, why couldnt gonz be someones fave current? hes out there on the scene and he can still do things that prolly NO OTHER PRO could do plus he is LITERALLY a top 10 catagory vertical skater along with inventing street skating no prob. (his part in gnar is almost current and he goes hard in that one)
.
