A lot of skate pants currently feature a 3% spandex, but if you wear them 2 days in a row, the pants expand and you start needing a belt.
I prefer a crotch gussett like tons of comapnies are doing, so they keep their shape and you can skate tug free.

anyone else ever skate in raw/selvedge denim? the first month sucks but once they get broken in they're amazing and way more durable than that stretchy skate jean bullshit. I've only noticed a few pros like Kenny Anderson, Josh Harmony and Gilbert Crockett skate them. Recently picked up a pair of the Rising Sun Co. denim chinos Crockett skates in. They fit like dickies except they don't rip after the first time you fall, but are WAY to expensive to be practical as a pair of jeans to skate in.

I recently got a few pairs of Levi's skateboardings 511 jeans on Sale. It takes a while to break them in, but after that they are perfect. They seem to be very durable with all those double stitchings and the thicker back pockets.
Good jeans, worth the (sale)money.

I've been wearing a pair of Levis skateboarding 513s for over a year now. I got the rigid indigo ones and they've broken in and help up incredibly. I've had mixed luck with stretch pants, but to sum it up I'd say they rip way too easy.

I grabbed a couple pairs of Calvin Klein jeans from Ross, one with spandex, one without, and I gotta say the difference is huge. I wear my pants baggy but I definitely prefer skating in the pants with spandex in them as opposed to the ones without. On the other hand they are noticeably thicker so a little warmer in the summer but helps keep me warm in the fall/winter.
