it's coming up soon.........I'm gonna see two games in London, stoked!!
Rugby World Cup 1987 to 2015 promo! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtY4I0ohV3A#)
-
Just snagged myself a ticket for the Ireland v. Romania game.
Stoked.
-
I'll see France-Italy and NZ-Argentina. and probably end up drunk in a pub with my dad and his pals!
France-Ireland should be a cracking game...... ;)
-
Who are the favorites? Damn there are some random fucking countries in this...Namibia, Fiji!? What are the USA's chances or getting out of the group?

A little shook after last weekend's result against wales but still quietly confident. The nation has every faith in Saint Schmidt.
I'm kinda rooting for the states to get out their pool. I went to college with one of their players and it's always rad to see him do well.
-

not random at all. those countries both have a rich rugby tradition. the USA, not so much.
i'm wondering how i can watch the Welsh matches in the USA, without paying $20 to get into a shitty Irish pub at 8 in the morning to watch them.
-
Where do you live? Just go to a soccer pub. Most of them double as rugby pubs if requested and they can literally get any channel in the world, albeit sometimes pirated.
-
can anyone beat NZ? SA or Pumas

the Pumas have never beaten the AB's, ever. the Wallabies look good right now I think.
also history shows France can do it, especially when they are written off like right now....then again we could lose against Romania or whoever!
I swear being a French supporter is trying at times.

Don't worry, they're going to let Thierry Henri handle the ball all he wants.

I live in Portland. Kell's usually has the rugger but they charge a $20 cover per match. Fuck that.
Pumas aren't much to worry about. Cymru Am Byth.

We'd lose to Samoa before the Arjos. But first things first, England and Aus are my worry in our pool.
-
Canada plays Ireland on the 19th, we have a shockingly good Rugby team, despite not having any real local leagues. Should be a fun game. England is perfect for Rugby, temperate, egotistical with long rugby culture, should be an amazing cup!

Group of death indeed.
As for the US and Canada, I doubt they make it out of their pool. I'd put my money on SA/Scotland and Ireland/France !

I know, but they should get over it, seriously. that's how football works.
Maradona scored with his hand in a world cup quarterfinal! and as long they refuse to use video refereeing, it'll stay that way. That's one of the reasons I have a very hard time watching football.......
-
I'm going with
Pool A
Winner: Aus
Runner up: Wales
Pool B
Winner: South Africa
Runner up: Samoa
Pool C
Winner: NZ
Runner up: Argentina
Pool D
Winner: Ireland
Runner up: France

I think it's probably fair to say people don't really care about that anymore. Bitter pill to swallow at the time but c'est la vie. The news that it ended with us getting a 5 mil pay out from Sepp and the boys makes it all even funnier..

that's good to hear!
NL, I have a hunch you're not going to like my version.....
Pool A
Winner: Aus
Runner up: England
Pool B
Winner: South Africa
Runner up: Scotland
Pool C
Winner: NZ
Runner up: Argentina
Pool D
Winner: France
Runner up: Ireland
I'm being optimistic for my team I know, but as a fan you have to! but I really think we can beat Ireland, their whole gameplan rests on Sexton too much.
-
We're not hat far off in our predictions.
Don't forget a lot of the Welsh matches are being played at home in the Millennium Stadium.
-
really? Oh I didn't know. You're right, that could be a factor.........
apart from France, this is the guy I'll be watching. My fave player in world rugby by far right now!

-
it's on tomorrow!
I have to confess nothing would make me happier than to see England get trounced on home soil by Fiji for the opening game ;D
but that's pretty unlikely.
-
Cakewalk for England, the broadcasters made every garbage time try exciting. Gotta love English sensationalists on the mic!
Canada/ Ireland and Italy/ France should be worth a watch
-
I don't think anyone could have seen that Japan win coming. Loved it.
-
that was crazy.
I just got back from London, the NZ-Argentina game was amazing as well.
that cup is shaping up to be wild!! can't wait for the following games.
-
Wales ;D
sick game
-
Opening up Nicely for teams like Ireland & now Wales
-
Wales ;D
sick game
!
-
that was incredible. every French rugby fan was delighted at watching England losing at Twickenham haha...........
:D
can't believe how many injured players Wales has though
England-Australia will be wild saturday!
-
nail-biter right now against Fiji... :o
-
Tried for 30 min to find a free streaming site for the Wales Fidji games and failed....
France Canada afterwards was promising for us I thought.
goddamn there's a lot of injuries in this cup!
Pretty excited about Egland-Aus tomorrow :P
-
lol England is out, Ausstralia rekt em
-
C'mon Ireland!
-
that was a close one for Ireland! I'd be surprised if they go past the quarter final.
as for England.........well that was pure schadenfreude.
to think Cipiriani said not one australian player would make it in the english squad!!

I'm visiting Ireland and watched rugby for the first time yesterday. I thought the rest of the world was somehow more enlightened than the US for not watching American football. Turns out they just have their own sport for local neanderthals.
-
A real mans version of your national sport, whats the problem?
-
Australia is going to win this thing in my opinion. Hooper and Pocock are unstoppable and Foley i suddenly in career best form.
For mine they are the only team that can beat the all blacks at the moment.
-

Who doesn't enjoy neanderthals hurting each other?
New Zealand does not seem to be up to form, getting worried.
-
Romania v Canada game was surprisingly entertaining.
Pretty excited for the Australia V Wales game on Saturday.
-

exactly. a thinking man's version you could also say.
personnaly I really don't like american football. Apart from the ball's shape, it's actually nothing like rugby.
anyways.......
I really think Australia look like favorites right now.
but who knows, maybe this will finally be France's year......I've watched my team lose 3 finals already, since I was a kid in 87. I wanna see them go all the way just once!
-
let's see what happens tomorrow boyos. odds are not in wales' favour but we have to beat the aussies one day. no time like tomorrow.
-
I'm actually super impressed by the welsh team's performance, considering their injured list!
one thing that's really bummed me out is Tuilagi getting banned 5 weeks. The citing commission's double standars are just so unfair it's not even funny.

-
Samoa is bashing up the Scots pretty good! Wales/ Aus should be really good too
-
not good enough. aussie defense was impenetrable. fair play.
-
Wales were pretty impressive but the Wallabies defense was far too good.
Scotland v Samoa game was pretty entertaining.
-
Quarter finals kick off on the 17th! France vs NZ.. Pumas vs Ireland.. Wales vs Springboks.. Scotland vs Wallabies
I fucking love the RWC
-
Hope Wales get up on the springboks, but judging on the way everyone's been playing it looks like a pretty clear NZ vs AUS final. Up the Wallabies!

agreed.
France was just terrible against Ireland saturday. Terrible. My dad said we havent been that bad since the 60's....
also I find it very suspicious that in this day and age, no one saw this, 20 seconds into the game.
No replay, nothing! we did not deserve to win but it could have been a very different game. anyways karma is a bitch, Ireland have lost at least 3 of their best players and I think they'll be trounced by the Pumas.

-
In your eye Frenchie! Savea looked like Jonah Lomu out there, bulldozing through 5 men. It took awhile but NZ looks INCREDIBLE they have to win it
-
Northern Hemi teams took a beating this weekend but not without putting up a good fight. Well done Argentina. That was a shocker. Aus/ All Black final? Predictable but they both deserve it.
-

nope, totally predictable, and I said it earlier in the thread. Just as predictable as France getting pummeled by the AB's.......
Saint Andre, the French coach, has had the worst record with our team in about 40 years! Good thing he's leaving.
Anyways that cup is really enjoyable to watch, lots of drama. the Scotland-Australia game was incredible, with (again!!) a lot of controversy about Craig Joubert. He just doesnt have it to referee at the top level.
-
Well you're obviously some form of magical soothsayer. Many of us were shocked.
-
nope, it's just that I was at Wembley to see NZ-Arg and it was easy to tell the Pumas were real good, really gave the ABs a run for their money. Also they won against Ireland in the 99 WC....and they've been to the semi-final before, which Ireland never did. and finally this year they defeated the Boks on home soil.
Actually I think it's condescending that they werent pegged as favorites.
-
All blacks narrowly escaped vs SA. The final will be great hopefully pumas show up tomorrow
-
AB's really turned it up in the second half, great game. C'mon wallabies.
-
All Blacks v Wallabies final.
It's amazing that they haven't met in a final before.
-
yeah that is weird. it's gonna be intense....someone is gonna be the first team to win 3 times in any case!
I think I'd rather see the Ozzies take it though. McCaw drives me fuckin nuts (but yes I admit, I'd love to have him on my team!)

-
All Blacks win 34-17!
Second half was very exciting.
-
my heart goes out to the sheep of NZ tonight. stay up, guys.
-
Well done NZ, best team in sports history. Literally noone can fuck with the All Blacks and they know it
-
I fucking hate tracer and his uninformed shitty bandwagon opinions.
Bad luck wallabies, congrats to the AB's.
-

Undefeated, no team is even close. What other sport can you say that? All other sports you can dive and trick refs, being a pussy in rugby is detrimental to your team.
Long live rugby and fuck all other sports
-
well you have to admit only 3 losses in 4 years for the AB's is a pretty tough record to beat.
I'm not sure kiwis realize NZ is the only country in the world where rugby union is the number one sport though....
anyways that final was brilliant! this cup was one of the best ever I think.
Now I can't wait to see France with the new coach. The last 4 years have been dismal for french rugby
(for the national team at least)
