Title: can't receive messages

someone tried to send me a pm, and whenever i check my inbox there is nothing there. do i need to activate something before i can get pm's?

if your screenname is different from the original name you signed up with it wont work.

That's not true.  Mine is different, and I receive them all the time.

Also, to make things clear, PM problems primarily arise when your username and display name don't match. Say somebody signs up under the username "Jeff," but with the display name "Crap Muncherson." Meanwhile, somebody else signs up with the username (which is unique to you) "Steve," but Steve posts under the display name (which is not necessarily unique to you) "Jeff." If I try to send a PM to Jeff, Crap Muncherson gets it. Two usernames are a stupid design flaw for this reason, among others. To remedy this, I change Jeff's display name to a unique name of his choice, or if the other poster isn't active and never made a post, just delete theirs so Jeff can receive PMs freely.

still didn't get it.  :(
i checked under my account related settings and my UN and DN are both the same. maybe there is someone who had my UN before i signed up?

I think I fixed it this time. I searched "JB" and didn't see another one, but I didn't realize there was a second page of potential "JBs" in my search results. Sent you another test PM.
