yea i dont really see what the outrage is about. Bams outside skateboarding ventures are pretty whack but that doesnt change that he was a pro good skater.

I was at whatever Tampa pro it was when he did that crazy switch bs tail on that long high rail. It took him like all day, it was one of two tricks I saw him land, but it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen with my two eyes and I once saw Keith Urban vomit.

I ended up sitting next to him but I fell asleep before we took off because I don't give a shit about that guy. He was wearing a lot of make up and had hair extensions and was reading a magazine that he was on the cover of. I woke up a little later because he got air sick. I chuckled and he gave me this really upset look and then I fell back asleep.
I sat across from Karen O. once but fell asleep that time too. I woke up in the middle of serious turbulence and thought we were going down so I made this "I'm going to die but I should keep it together" noise and she looked at me like I was a bitch.

His antics aside, I think Bam was awesome in his Toy Machine days. Skating tranny when it was deader than dead. His kickflip over the channel cover for TSM was pretty amazing.

At least Bam made entertaining videos and not him unboxing the free shit he gets. I've talked to Bam a couple times and from what i got is he's got mixed feelings on being so famous. Happy he's rich and well known but then bummed he's too well known and can't go skate any where without being asked for a photo. Everyone hates on him for what he's become but when they see him their the first ones to get a photo with him.

He was really good too, just not in the cool guy way slap likes. He cared more about flipping his board and technically progressive stuff, not style or doing east coast lines or whatever.
Of course Bam's hype carried him farther than he would've gone on skill alone, but he also could do nollie 540s and other innovative stuff.
