Title: What to do with a 36" deck
Post by: calvinsdream on November 21, 2016, 02:19:13 PM
So, while inebriated, for reasons that escape me, I bought this:

http://socalskateshop.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=73308 (http://socalskateshop.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=73308)

It's a 9.2 x 36" antihero, and I'm not sure exactly what to set it up for. I think my intention was for it to be a cruiser, but I'm curious if anyone else has used longer boards for anything else with good results (longer wheelbase = better for bigger dudes?, bowls, etc)

Personally, I don't like anything that big in a bowl because they feel too sluggish -but long wheelbase decks are hella fun in ditches/ banks/ cruise fast downhill situations.

I hear you on long decks being good for long dudes, but 36" is crazy long. It's basically a longboard so you could get some longboard wheels (huge + soft) and cruise around with it. Maybe do some downhill?

Fuck, that's Ben Schroder territory right there...

I tend to stick with 15" WB max for bowls (depending on how tight it is),

What you could so is just set it up like a big street board (I have one) with some 95a wheels or some shit and just haul ass and do big ollies over shitty terrain, it's super fun =D as long as you don't expect to do any switch back flip tail big spin sexchange revert to manual blizzard flip out over a 21 set.

Skate street with it. The gonz does a boardslide and a front board on a handrail with a longboard at 4:22 in kicked out of everywhere.

funny part was, after I checked my email and saw the size of the deck the next day at work, I googled longboards to see what the standard length was. 36" was actually pretty common. For some dumbass reason I imagined they were 50-60" long (???).

i have some 97a somewhere that haven't been a good fit on anything else. Maybe this would be it. It's that or the wall.

There's only thing you can do on that board. Push it from SF to SC to go fishing.

Set it up and rock that shit! Liquor store board, just go out cruising and slappy some shit if you are too sore from the day before session.
