Title: Raw footage - Yuto Horigome - Big Spin Manhattan Beach 14

As seen in Thrasher/Blind video "For Days."
@1:40 Hoops snaps on a total non-bro trying to poach that ill-exclusive footy

After upwards of 1 minute of (watching) anyone's footage, I find myself becoming narcotized by "bolts-bolts-bolts," clean, effortless skating. Rarely do videos, other than those Spawn cab kickflip attempts included in Baker Bootleg, give us the opportunity to see how much work went into the featured skate tricks.

If there is a silver lining of having skate videos released via internet, it is being able to see the "raw footage," as it was never really included unless you bought the DVD or stuck around after the credits.

The only question now is: what big company is going to be purchasing Rosetta Stone English Language Learning Software for Yuto in the not-too-distant-future?

Haha, very sensitive, you guys are in public. You can’t tell other people what they can and can’t film. It’s not like that kids Facebook views on he clip were gonna ruin the impact of this trick in the skate world. Nice big spin tho.

HE DEF HIT THE LAST STEP.

I HAD TO REWATCH IT A FEW TIMES, CAUSE I ADMIRED HIS DETERMINATION BUT TECHNICALLY THAT WOULDNT COUNT AND WOULD FOR SURE JUST BE IN THE CREDITS.

NOT SAYING IT WASNT SICK AS FUCK , BECAUSE IT WAS. BUT EHHHHH

I just can't believe the beating he put on his ankles, so much impact landing backwards like that and absorbing it so you don't whiplash your head into the ground. I could feel the pain just watching, if my body ever worked that way I'm past remembering it, probably never did.

actually thought that was kinda sick, when i saw the part assumed he did it first or second try.  makes me like the trick alot more.

i get that filmers don't want shit poached by little skate rats lurking, but yelling at some random joe-shmoe on vacation is pretty fucking dumb.  dudes like that are clueless/harmless

First off, a lot of those falls were repeated twice. There were second angles on almost every fall.
Seemed excessive at best, deceptive at worst.

Secondly, filmer guy looked goofy as hell doing his rolling long lens thing in every shot. The whole time I was thinking "this better be one sweet ass angle" but they never showed it.

yea that was definitely an overreaction on hoops part, just ask the kid nicely, reminded me of how people yell at skateboarders  :(

it's a life goal of mine to not tell anyone how to live their lives, but when your means of income is relying on filming exclusive skate maneuvers, so that said maneuvers can be marketed to an exclusive medium (thrasher) it's probably important that no one cuts in on your marketable content. Whoever was poaching could have hashtagged '#LAManhattanBeach #skate' the footy on instagram and it would have been basically a wrap. In all honesty, would people really watch it less? I really dunno.

I do know that dude Yuto has super skills and Hoops was obv. hyped on him, maybe even feeling like he was about to help him blow up, maybe he felt like he was Dave Kordan filming PJ ladd for PJ Ladd's Wonderful Horrible Life obviously that pressure got to him.

I feel like, unlike most other filmers, the only time I ever hear anybody bring up that "hoops" guy is to talk shit about him.

after seeing that lutzka trick [and the following rest of it] i think of lutzka wants to wear a harry dean stanton hat, he needs to rock the whole kit. like skate in a trench coat or an old style suit and jacket w/ a flask of whiskey in his inside pocket the fedora would fly.
he played some heads up ball on those handrails, why is he reviled again? has he done anything lately?

After watching that youtube link..... Jesus god damn christ lutzka is and was amazing. It's funny we just forget how insane some of these dudes skated 10+ years ago. Shit would blow minds if it came out today. I'm glad he "sold out" and is hopefully still sitting on a good amount of money from his career in skating.

Kind of amazing how when watching the part I wouldn't think twice about that big spin and how far he was from it for all but a couple of tries.

Also if you're in public, even a bit of a tourist spot I assume, and you tell me not to film like that you're getting a "fuck you" on principle.
