If he rode for Anti-Hero this would of been one of the greatest parts ever.
-
I always wondered how he landed on 101. Found this interview from ~2007 with him just now:

I can see why he may not have been the most reliable pro from the companies' points of view, but he's got some pretty good stories for sure.
-
"beware of d-way"
-
Somebody did an identical post about this part and how if "he was another person this part would be" thing a couple of years ago here. He got delegated because he made a rail with a ski jump at the end to flip out of. Too many cargo pants, controversy with Muska and shit talking in an interview. He's a chill dude tho.
-
but this should be in my 411VM Best Of vol.5 appreciation thread...
jokes aside, he was definitely ahead of his time. his style was always rough as, in a great raw way but I guess right around the time he should have reached his peak, everybody was already looking up to a current of fresher dudes, thinking Girl / Choc fam or Stereo. were he to put out lines from this exact 411VM segment nowadays, with AVE and other aggressive styles being popular again, he would definitely get... Instagram likes ? nah, actually, fuck that.

sinclair putting him on sizzle flow
-
He was always a favorite growing up, both of these parts aged well.
-
I used to love that 411 part and imagined that he was the best skateboarder in the world. Today it's more in the guilty pleasure category, but that's okay too.
That nollie flip out of the bowl straight over the massive table is still amazing.
-
he was talented but the osiris ski jump rail ruined him.

Just found this, he really was ahead of his time, some of this would still pass today:

The self cheering stinkbug front flip in the 411 really sums it up well.

Don't forget this ninja intro

I once had a pair of his Osiris pro model potatoes.
-
Adam McNatt became Cody Mcentire
-
he was a shitty pro with talent before shitty pros had talent
-
Is there a link to that goodtimes video part anywhere?

good interview

Thanks, I’ve never seen that. Say what you want, but really liked him on 101. His snuff part had some good stuff too.
-
Thanks for posting that, Willy.
His style reached peak weirdness in Snuff. He'd bend over and to the side after landing a trick, and his arms would do some sort of windmill rotation.
-
Any OG with super knowledge know what those 1st pressed Goodtimes boards looked like?
How feasible/cheap is it to start a silk-screening facility in your garage?
-
you could probably rig it up for less than $100 bucks in 1992-94
The only thing that is difficult is getting access to a screen burner to burn the images on to the screen and the screens themselves. You could rig up a home made press with random parts from a hardware store.
-
Always loved that evol section. The Genitorturers tune makes it pinnacle even though I wouldn't usually listen to that shit in a million years.

He's before my time but I noticed that too. He "had a certain lean." New thread?

Jeez. Never saw that before. I've seen a few of those on instagram but not the full thing. bs 360 nollie flip over the wall was super sick. His style looks like it was getting more polished at this point.

I don't know that answer, but his claim that they were "11 color screened" is dubious. I mean, it's not impossible, but I don't think anyone was doing more than 8-9 colors even in a professional shop, and he's doing 11 in his garage?

Page 2 and still no mention of the transworld interview where he kooked himself out of the industry?

Page 2 and still no mention of the transworld interview where he kooked himself out of the industry?
I have that in my collection, I'm readin it now.
-Right off the back it begins with him in a ninja outfit. (Little weird but OK)
-He's got a photo BMXing some dirt jumps. (This ain't no BMX magazine, cmon dude.)
-Claims everyone who don't skate in the industry anymore should be banned. (Gotta agree with him here)
-Ponders the question as to why CSG (Chris Senns Girlfriend) was judging a skateboard contest. (She don't skate)
-Did a 360flip to grind a box in his run (Battle of the Bay) got pissed he didn't win and said," I should've won because I stayed on my skateboard and brought the technical advancement of skateboarding to a higher level to contests." (That's pretty kooky to say)
-Photo of the curved LA 5050 that Muska did first but Mcnatt knew that an brought up a bench to get on the rail with his Evol part comin out before Muskas. By the time this intervew came out he finally got the balls to go down the rail minus the bench. (Yeah, that's just lame)
-Explains how company owners barely pay skateboarders a living wage yet they're still makin money. (Isn't that still goin on?)
-Gets in a hissy fit how people like Jamie Thomas and Muska were superstars at the time. (It was there time to shine.)
-Says he doesn't like that people just skate one thing during these times and how Gonz was the first to skate everything proper. (This is true)
-Tells that he's almost a black belt but doesn't explain in what, just 'martial arts'. (Truly curious what he does)
-Says in 5 years it'll be 2001 and he'll be done by then stating that pretty soon serious shit's gonna go down between me and my friends who ride skateboards. (He was right on the nose on that one)
-Ends interview with the interviewers asking if he eats red meat. Mcnatt said," No but I eat beef jerky, that probably makes me a hypocrite... aren't we all hypocrites?" Perfect ending to a great interview 10/10)

I also remember some subliminal disses towards skaters who drove lowered Honda Civics & had gold teeth(Menace) as well as anyone who transplanted to California to chase a career in skateboarding.

Best interview in all of skateboarding.

So, is the one I have in bold a thinly veiled dig at Natas? He's a former 101 rider and Natas quit, but as far as I know still ran 101, after a severe ankle injury. Because if its anybody else I'd agree, but if its Natas, fuck that shit, give that man his money.
Wasn't there also a part about telling kids who aren't from California not to come to California? He also said something like "big brother is for idiots, but only smart people realize that." I remember that, because a little after that, they interviewed him and directly asked him about it.
-
i believe the line was something to the effect of 'i got on that rail way before jamie thomas or muska came out here from the fucking midwest. and what about gonz? we;re all just stealing from him anyways.'
maybe i'm conflating but i believe he used 'midwest' as his incorrect geographic pejorative.

In California, every place that's not directly on the east coast is "the midwest" except for Chicago, which they always think is on the east coast for no particularly good reason
