-
And thus the streak of epic guests has come to a screeching halt.
-
For a very brief moment I thought we had a Steve Buscemi episode on our hands and now I can't stop giggling at the thought
I'm sure this will be interesting though, I like the oddball episodes where you know nothing about the guy
-
shoe dude.
-
Chris Roberts looks so ill.
-
I thought this was Jim Belushi

Trying not to be bummed until I listen, but I was excited for Steve to liven that apartment up this morning.
Now I'm stuck searching for any hint that this episode leads to Gino taking his"boutique" brand and making quality shoes or gear with this guy. That'd be poetic
-
Where is Gino's trick in Chomp on This? Assuming its the same bump to gap he bs 360'd and switch backheeled in Yeah Right
-
Wouldn't download on the Apple podcast app.
-
this the guy who makes shoes that look like purses

well, that ridiculous run of legendary guests had to end eventually. i don't know who this guy is but he has more instagram followers than your favorite pro and people apparently want customized benz g-wagons with his name attached to it... i'll never understand the appeal of that shit but w/e
tl;dw:
you gotta remember, this is skateboarding, in like, 1997, it was inSANE
-
"Lawnmowers bro!"
-
Worst episode yet
-
Nine Club brass knuckles? What?
-
Hey kind of sounds like that braggadocio douche that would come up to you and tell you about his crazy night because he ran into Paris Hilton or something and ~was so blown out of his mind~. While you're there kind of listening and suspecting that he's most likely lying.
-
He should make shoes that look like shirts. Buttons and a collar and shit. Maybe a pocket. Hell yeah.
-
What's with the poker chips? I hate this dude.
-
skaters please
-
so was this like a commercial for a nonexistent line of foodie word puzzle shirts?
that's [picture of peanuts]!
-
Uncle Paulies looks like it has good sandwiches though. But it’s like one of those Fairfax shops. Never been though
To try and be positive, at least Jon Buscemi can talk like normal human. I felt it was an easy listen at least.
-
Heard Action Bronson is next week.

Take a shot every time a name is dropped & you'll be drunk by the end of minute 14
-
I loved the beginning about his early experience in skating because it does mirror most who started in that era, but why is a slob in a dirty white shirt and denim talking about street luxury? He has obviously been successful, and I did like the stories of struggle and inside info, but you should probably represent the image you are tyring to project better.
-
I was mildly interested at first although I’d never heard of this guy and it started off ok but fizzled really fast. They need to have like Rick or Tom or Heath or PJ to make up for this one

is that a lock on the shoe? your foot is in chastity?
-
the lock should be on the box
-
HA!
-
rather just read this post than actually listen to it
-
Episode started out great then it got way too pretentious. I doubt most fans of TNC give a fuck about his bespoke projects. Thought this show was about skating not an infomercial for the 1%. I'd still take a box of his products tho. :p
-
"I was so broke but then I got a call and put on my super rare london jordans and took a pic in front of my collection of 400 shoes for my resume"
-
I like the 1% industry info, I would never buy a thing, but sure as hell would sell some $900 shoes given his formula.
-
For close to an hour it was totally unclear why, after Dill, Spike Jonze, Strobeck, etc., this dude was on. Fair play to him for acknowledging up top that he was a rando, but fuck, respect your audience nine club. The number of people you could have spoken to and you chose this name dropping lifestyle brand braggart?!
After seeing Lucas in LA skating with Crob and Kelly I was convinced he was going to be up next. Looking at the comments on youtube it seems like most of the commenters were into it, but I hope this doesn't encourage them to get tangential industry folks on.
-
Literally the worst type of person. I mean so is Dill, but at least he's interesting as fuck.
-
why, the fuck
-
shoulda just forked over the money to send freddy on
-
He should probably start jumping rope with Gino.
-

both of them had issues/borderline ticks with fixing their jacket/sweater. I was going to comment on the Dill thread saying, why won't he just button that fucking thing? also interesting how these two are so close w Gino, the coolest of cool in the eyes of many.
I actually liked this episode, Crob & team can usually pull good shit out of their guests. wish they would have talked more about designing for 'eS, but this was far more listenable than say the Zion episode
but some of the comments bashing here are incredible nonetheless

I like that he tries to call this a sweeper to fakie
-
that was like the girl's pushups version of a sweeper to fakie.
i like him for skating and running around w/ the heavy hitters even if like, bawtawd should be koston's kato kaelin before this salesperson.
-
he says to kelly "do you drink? i've heard some things..." and Kelly sounds kinda sad. does anyone remember that story about him dropping racial slurs when drunk? was that ever confirmed
-

Ha! That thought was living in my head but I didn't know how to word it, thank you.
I read this thread before watching the show and when he started talking about it I just laughed haha. Gotta let the big man have his props though.

Thrasher's dropping this later this week in hopes of cashing in on this week's real "beehive of activity" that was this episode.
-
I keep turning this on and trying to listen but keep getting distracted.

who???

Had to make this.

Dill did the whole 9 club interview without a smoke but Buscemi did the whole 9 club interview without a pancake.

he didn't chew it but he had one in his lip like a fat dip slowly dissolving throughout the interview.

I saw The Nine Club post that this was the next episode and honestly thought "Oh, Jonah Hill has a beard now". Then I saw the name and was so confused...
Who the fuck is he?
-
Lux not pedestrian confirmed
-
Lux bro
-
Liked the episode, but if i had to pick an episode of someone who isn't a pro or power player in the skate industry it would have to be Ben Harper
-
Just googled Lux - first page tells me it's either a unit of measurement for illuminance, an acronym for an RPG called Leage of Legends Champion or a brand of soap.
So taking the first one out, that means he's either a gamer or owns a soap company.

They already did Ben Harper earlier on. It was a good episode.

I know...

A fool and his money are soon parted. If rich fuckbois want tennis shoes that look like purses, take their money. This was a good episode. Like this guys.
-
this guy loves flexing
-
I liked this episode. Very informative. I got inspired actually because he made it in the corporate world with skate street smarts. Theres tons of pros who have a friend that just hangs on like he's pro only to have wasted his years being a cheerleader. At least this dude had drive and "made it" on his own terms. If the nine club crew lurks on slap I want to say thank you he dropped a lot of gems.
-Sincerely Aatila.
-
That episode was solid.
Dude has mad banter in him. I like it

Obamer

This was a good one, really liked the Wall Street part. I've seen his name for years (he had a Crail Top 5 interview) and knew a little bit about him. I like it when interview shows bring in guests that aren't pros but are still part of skating and aren't too industry-based, like SkateTalk with Leo Fitzpatrick.
Gourmet was tight. I could be wrong but I think they were the first company to use the cork colorway for shoes. I still have a pair and wear them, although the edges of the tongue are razor sharp.
But yeah, those shoes posted earlier look horrible.
And I know Italian craftsmanship is well-respected, but maybe the rise of fake branding coming out of Italy is killing the "made in Italy" selling point.
-
I used to make fun of people who put their shows "on ice".
