Just finished watching Ty Evan Flat earth and all that I can say is that it is the worst skate movie i ever watched, bad music, bad editing, bad filming and chase the rapist webb
-
There's a Famous Stars and Straps video called Everywhere We Go. Manny Santiago had a part in it I think. That's a fucking terrible ass video.
-
Last time I saw Manny he looked like a tattered tye dye tee shirt. And fuck that video
-
Flat Earth had parts that are unwatchable, but also had incredible skating. It is actually a tragedy. Like what did Pulizzi do to deserve that edit job? He piss on Ty's wife or something?
-
The LE video
-
this one vid of those LA kids where that one dude is rolling down
a "hill" trying to brake with a massive tail scrape and shit. so bad
-
I might get spanked for this, but LA County. Only redeemable part of that film is that Paulo Diaz rules.
-
Expedition's "Gone Fishin" was an insult to the people who were in it.
-
Wasn’t a fan of birdhouse the beginning

Damn, I actually liked that video.
What about that Ice Cream video, fuckkkk that was bad.

-
Skate More was an insult to the people who were in it.*
It felt like the parts were edited by all different people with different project ideas and i'm guessing the monty python segways were enjoyable for that huge range of skateboarders who are notorious for loving monty python?
*What I wouldn't give to see a new shared Busenitz/Zered part set to Sabbath, that part was a super exception.
-
Any natural koncept video
If I was going to vote on videos I've never seen simply based on terrible magazine ads circa 2000; I'd go with Natural Koncept, Arcade Skateboards' "The Trip", and Laban Foetus' marriage of skateboarding and juggling, "Caught Clean".
-
Shortys Guilty.
-
Away Days. Whoever did the color grading on that, oof.

Shoulda been so much better.
Skate More was great.

Tracker Hi8 is pretty terrible, dudes just gave whatever they didn't want

-
To me it's Flip Extremely sorry... Maybe my hopes we're just too high being a kid who grew up on sorry/really sorry ?
-
The LE video
Disagree. The LE video was so bad it was good and delightful to hate along with after each slow-mo, EDM-dripping part was dropped on Thrasher.
-
Wasn’t a fan of birdhouse the beginning
Two votes for this pile of shit.
-
Don't know the worse vid, maybe 'Crooked Bitch'?
But the most disappointing vid is by far Away Days. Only because it was such a weak edit...from a company that literally never put out poor edit prior to that. Gonz should've had a part...Snoop Dogg has hundreds of songs and you pick the white people choice then pair it with Bowie...then the video was quickly taken over by Carroll vs. MJ drama, and the streets still haven't seen all his ideas!
-
not the worst of all time but the flare could have been so good.
remember powell fun?
-
Expedition's "Gone Fishin" was an insult to the people who were in it.
Sketchy shop guy insisted that I take the dvd for free. What a piece of shit (both the guy and the video)

Extremely Sorry was an absolute abomination.

Granted the fishing shtick was really weird but I thought Kenny Hoyle skating to Nirvana was cool and unexpected.

The answer is This is my Element though
Fucking atrocious
-
my one scorched earth hot take: menikmati. it's fucking unwatchable. the skating is good. the slow-mo is absolutely horrendous

Yeah they blew it with the animation and that one dude who did the soundtrack for the video. It’s really fucking sad how bad that video came out with sorry/really sorry being so legit. I grew up on those videos too. I got the flipside dvd with money from my first job in 6th grade

Just so it's clear the answer is Invisible's Caught Clean. Mid 90s skating and some timeless juggling with mostly heinous music choices. They a worse sequel that has even less skating. I have rips of them all just to make sure I always remember that they exist.
Don't forget the Sims video The 2nd Coming that was made when they were at NHS. 2 Nirvana songs in 1991 is very cool yes?

Geoff’s part makes up for literally everything in that video. I fucking love Geoff’s part in the other two sorry vids, but that was genuinely one of the few parts that was completely overhyped that actually lived up to that expectation. To this day I still think Geoff’s 180 is the gnarliest trick of all time, even more then the water tower Ollie. I had the ad(it came out years earlier) from vans on my wall for the longest time(the only magazine spread I ever put on a wall), I wanted to see that footage for literally years. I remember when it dropped rowleys part gave me a mad skate boner, to feeling completely limp to the skating right after it. Also rodrigos part is fucking legendary, and boulalas part always made me smile. Like just Geoff’s part alone makes this video not even close to that category, but those other two parts definitely put it out of contention for this thread.
-
a mad skate boner?
-
-DGK’s “Parental Advisory” is pretty unbearable with the way they blew out the 4:3 VX footage to 16:9. Also kid diddlers aren’t really my cup of tea, no matter how good their switch is.
-Flip’s “Extremely Sorry” is so disappointing. Great skating but the soundtrack kills it for me (except for Lemmy’s cover of ‘Stand By Me,’ that shit was cool).
-Adidas’ “Away Days” simply for the fact that every frame is footage is a different shade of grey.
-Transworld’s “i.e” is an awkward, forgettable video in between the solid trilogies of Feedback, The Reason, and Modus and Sight Unseen, In Bloom, and Free Your Mind.
-Any full length Thrasher video pre-2000s is pretty damn awful. People just threw away footage and put it to the most forgettable songs from the Fat Wreck Chords catalogue
-Ty Evans’ “We Are Blood” and “Flat Earth” for being such overblown productions. To quote my dood Jeff Goldblum, “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”
(ALSO, Skate More is a great video, fake Berra spots and all!)
-
I may get some hate from SF locals, but the absolute worst video I ever bought was Graveyard Shift.
I can't even think of anything that compares to this video. I usually love local stuff, but it was just terrible.

Geoff and Apples parts are the only parts I like in that video. The only thing that disappointed me about Geoff’s part was the 360 into the ditch. I thought the footage was underwhelming compared to the thrasher cover. I agree about the 180 being the gnarliest trick ever and I also love his wall ride 5050 (which I believe was a cover for the skateboard mag).
I was so pissed off that they completely fucked up luans part with that awful music. I was really looking forward to that part because I knew he was going to be the next best thing and that was his first legit part.
Agree with everything - no other video comes as close to being shit as Extremely Sorry, and it is because it should (!) have been a great video, where they just fucked up massively! Cross' farewell part was fucked up with all shits of lightning stunts, and the music sounded like b-takes from greater songs (except Lemmy), and why the fuck should Geoff run around with a cougar? Everything also looked over saturated... fuck that video! It had an amazing team and the skating was actually good (have returned to some single parts in the years later on) - and I fucking loved the sorry era!
I am furious thinking about that movie right now!

Yup, extremely sorry was not a great video. I totally agree with being let down on the Rowley 360 into the bank. I feel like the photo angle my have been exaggerated to up the gnar. The only part I rewatch in that video is Lance's and I'm not even that old.

No way. Ronnie had a solid part. James Craig skating to a personalized Murs song. Plus his ender was ridiculous. Evan Schiefelbine, Aaron Artis, and Corey Sheppard all had solid parts. For me it's pretty much every video pre vx/ mk1 standard and before people cared about the filming. The VHS shaky filming with the shitty vig. I know that's all they had but damn. When this came out we used to watch the jump ramp section and then head out to the shitty one we had built in my friend's cul-de-sac. It was still an era where kids were often trying to figure things out from magazine photos and whatever video you could find. Plus, Natas footage always just looked so sick.

I'm loving this romp through some of the worst videos of my childhood.
The Beginning might take the cake, solely for introducing the world to the blandness of Figgy.
What If? wasn't great, but I've got a soft spot for it. Plus, Evan Schiefelbine's part is a feel-good sleeper hit, and people on here love Ronnie Creager.
Has anyone said Slaughterhouse yet? People love to praise that video because some of the team got famous, but it was so fucking awful. Medicore skating, bad editing, bad filming, everyone dropped the ball with that one.
-
Cataclysmic Abyss is pretty awful, minus Nuge and Duffel's parts. I'll give another vote to The Beginning as well. Nesser's part is the only one that I rewatch from that video.
-

How does that birdhouse vid count. I'd rather not think the point of this thread is to shoot fish in a barrel. I mentioned menackmati cause it was a shit bomb combined with fact that it was supposed to be a state of the art represtation of skating at that time by the biggest and best in the industry.

Regarding Creager: You mean it as in "people on here love creager and i do not get it" or "people on here love creager but still give the video shit"- really curious!
I liked it but did not think of stuff like editing and all that back then so i might have to rewatch it!
Slaughterhouese: I hated that video SOOO much when it came out, might have been because i was still on some SD influenced tech video mindset (wich was pretty aweful too in hindsight with only 6 tricks allowed unless you were smolik)......later on when i found out there were different kinds of skating i started to love slaughterhouse!
you have to keep in mind i am from a more rural area in europe wich means we are a couple of years late on skate shit usually....
when i was in vegas i randomly dropped by desert breeze park and even more randomly sammy baca was there with his family (girl and first son back then) and he was such a humble and nice guy

-
not gunna lie, that deadbolt part/ song brings back lots of good memories
nostalgia's a bitch isn't it?
-
Never seen that Deadbolt part until today. Some of that looks like it wouldn't have been fit for a sponsor me tape in 1989 while some of it is impressive today.
Nostalgic nineties vibes all the way.
Fuck waiting for that kids on a miniramp though.
-
Another vote for the beginning. Not sure I've ever seen David Loy or Jeremy Klein's parts because I'm too busy face palming from their intros. Always thought it was funny that Brian Sumner was obviously falling off even though he said before his part started that his career was just beginning.
-
The skating was good in the Alva and hosoi videos but they tried to have this trippy double screen thing that sucks pretty hard.
-
fully flared is way too fucking long/theatrical, ty evans needs to chill the fuck out
This (beside Pappalardo’s part) and Pretty Sweet put me to sleep for some reason. I remember hating Blind’s What If as well. Cheesiest soundtrack.
-
Every Ty Evans videos because they are not aging well. I even stopped watching his last production since Pretty Sweet.
-
I want to slap the piss out of everyone who said Menikmati. You're a bunch of fucking philistines.

Atm click had a video I hated at the time. I should rewatch it, it's probably fuckin amazing now
Whoa whoa whoa! If you’re referencing “Fast Youth” I hugely disagree.
I was talking about come together, the one with Tom penny clips. And yep, rewatched and its fuckin amazing
-
i was like 13 when they came out but i remember watching slaughterhouse and what if and noticing how poorly they were thrown together. it was the first time i realized how bad fisheye steadyshot clips looked. you could see the lens hoods on the mk2s moving around in half of what if

I thought What If was decent video, what I think sabotaged it was music rights stuff, I love the Dandy Warhols but Creager skated to one of their worst songs, it seemed like someone had a deal with a label and was given 30 or so songs that they wanted to promote and had to make those work. all I know of Slaughter house was I watched RagDolls part a few years post just to see what it was about.

Have you not seen Genesis you fucking Jerk? It pains me to defend Ty Evans, but if you don't think Genesis didn't age well, you're a hoe.

Expedition's "Gone Fishin" was an insult to the people who were in it.
Agreed.
Flip '3'
Most Creature vids
new Etnies vid
hollowed ground
united by fate (skating was good)
birdhouse the beginning
away days had a lot of potential but way too long, boring, fucked up color, etc.
Was waiting for this one.

And NBA Jam was a video game on the Sega Genesis. You should at least TRY to hide your bias.

How did Bill Weiss not have one friend who could be like "Hey Bill, you're not a good filmer, please stop''.
Remember when Unicron would put random DVD's in your order when you'd order a bunch? Basically those were the worst videos.
-
Seen so many of my favorite videos on here. I am just a fan of skating.
-
Deca 2nd to none...
The promo that came out a year before was amazing, then the actual video was a bunch of funboxes and flatbars set up in dumb ways inside the dwindle warehouse. I was so fuckin weirded out. Brian Hoard has the only good part. Also not fair to blame the team because Daewon, Haslam, Greathouse etc all had killer parts after the fact.
-
I'm loving this romp through some of the worst videos of my childhood.
The Beginning might take the cake, solely for introducing the world to the blandness of Figgy.
Has anyone said Slaughterhouse yet? People love to praise that video because some of the team got famous, but it was so fucking awful. Medicore skating, bad editing, bad filming, everyone dropped the ball with that one.
the beginning was a shit video but i don't think that figgy is bland. i like his skating and his instagram posts.
as for slaughterhouse, i really like that video and ragdoll's part in it is his best. good songs also.
the worst video i've seen was blind 'this is not a test'. some of the clips are silent (no skate sounds) which is unforgivable for me.

I mean Creager's song was boring but what I mostly remember was Grant Patterson skating to Black Moon is incredible. Jake Brown skating to Stevie Wonder and that dude who did a kf melon over hollywood high fence skating to Marvin Gaye couldn't have been cheap. I also thought Evan Schieffelbine's song was rad too.
-
The Bootleg video. Scott Kane changed the game with that part, so many nbd's, but the editing is fucking unbearable. At the time, even my parents (who casually would sit in and watch vids with us) were like "what is this shit?"
-
anything from those hyjinx kids they can ligma

I was gutted by the loss when that site went down.
My vote goes for Consolidated Behold.

That's a weird one because it's not as great as they seemed to be going for but it's not bad. I like the Seth McCallum, Roberto Aleman, and Ryan Wilburn parts.
So Quick Achieved is way worse.

Menackmati
There hasnt been a video better than Menikmati still to this day.
-
The 180 Out creature video is horrible.
-
Videos days. What kind of videos only has 5 parts and a vert part that isn't good.
I apology in advance for upping an old thread, i'm just reading some random old ones as I'm a newbie, but man, can't resist replying to this...........
Video Days worst skate video ever? you can't be serious!
Maybe I'm biased because I still have the VHS, but just Mariano and Gonzales parts are worth more than half the videos in the subsequent 26 years.
This had to be a fucking trolling post, otherwise I can't believe someone thinks it for real.
-
Disagree. The LE video was so bad it was good and delightful to hate along with after each slow-mo, EDM-dripping part was dropped on Thrasher.
Only one I could tolerate was Tancowny's part since it had no Dubstep to speak of.

I was in SF for the first time, went to FTC, didn't realize how legendary the shop was, bought the Spanky Emerica dress shoe and a copy of Make Friends With the Color Blue... kooked myself hard. They snuck me a copy of Adidas diagonal at least, a far superior video by far. The shop guys were super nice though, maybe the friendliest skate shop employees I've come across
-
I bought the LE video for $5 borderline blackout drunk once.
Also,
Kook this man.

I’d rather wear a diaper made of leeches than watch Blind’s “What If?” again.

To me it's Flip Extremely sorry... Maybe my hopes we're just too high being a kid who grew up on sorry/really sorry ?
Like just Geoff’s part alone makes this video not even close to that category, but those other two parts definitely put it out of contention for this thread.
i think you jizzed, bro

The Shorty's Hardware Team video.
Purchased for 3 reasons:
1. It had the most # of riders which in my feeble mind meant more skating
2. It was $15 while mostly everything else in the store was $20-25
3. It had Rosa, and I was a teenage boy before the internet existed
What a bunch of crap. This was way before I realized awesome footage was finite, and the hardware video wasn't exactly getting first or even second rate stuff.

No no no. I meant for you claiming a fucking Blueprint video is one of the worst videos of all time.

Lost and Found and Make Friends With The Colour Blue are my all time favs.

GUILTY
-
Lunenberg county "reloaded" is probably the worst skate video I have ever seen, which makes it special in a way

I didn't like how DGK Parental Advisory had a ton of skits.
