Used to be one of the best street skaters on earth, the handplant obsession is SUPER wack.

Poor Johnny,
Has an amazing talent on his team who decided to go full eighties vert, yet sticks with the change and keeps giving him a pro model (and sick shapes too, I copped the latest one), but ultimately loses him.

His turning to the eighties kind of reminds me of Slash's depressed instagram captions.

I know at one point last year his Phillips breakout deck was selling out pretty quickly. He's probably going to Madness.

It really is something.  That Auby’s World part was the most impressive of 2014 in my mind.  He had all the makings of a powerhouse street pro, and the skills to keep things going if he had to take a more low impact approach later on.

He had a post on the gram a while back addressing some anxiety and depression stuff he’s dealt with, which probably pays into things.

But yeah, to go from world class street skater to shaped board backyard Texas vert ramp guy (basically an entirely different “sport”) is pretty badass, if a little odd.

I just rewatched Auby’s World on the bus home from my skate session tonight and it made me wish I was instead at the start of my skate session. Underrated part. Goddam insane and the switch style that screams switch. What up

to my understanding he has aspergers or some bit to him that makes for terrible social interaction, which is why krooked never really fucked with him or other brands doing it bigger than black label.

what was that brennan conroy quote about suciu, the brightest stars burn out the fastest? works much better in this situation. too bad.

Aubys world was a masterpiece, and that part for his skateshop years before was tremendous. What a shame

he's always been killing it. i recall seeing his lunatic fringe in a thrasher like 6-7 years a go where he switch heeled the hollywood 16.. seems like he's trying a new brand?

Criminally under rated. His switch to vert skating tanked his career, but he doesn't seem to give a shit, which is bad ass. He fucking rips on a vert ramp now too, which is insane.

Coming from a few people who know him, it appears he quit and is starting his own company. Judging by his post it does not seem like there is any bad blood towards BL or lucero. He seems like a nice kid, maybe a little odd but definitely a purist about whatever he believes in. And i can respect that. Im curious to see what comes out of this and what kind of boards he will make. I like the sound of a reverse berra... get that guy outta here!

He hit me up on instagram a long time ago, before I knew who he was, wanting to buy a Jeff Phillips shirt from me.   That shape is basically a Jeff Phillips BBC deck.

it’s 6hole to accommodate old/new baseplates, but it should be oriented 180 degrees from current pos’

I for one would love to see a Zorlac esque company back in business. However the amount of new companies being started is redic. Maybe he should have stuck with label in that sense but it looks like there could be some interesting things coming from Auby. Non conventional might just work, and that is exactly how I classify him.

Embassy = Zorlac maybe without Newton, but... He's not going to Embassy if he's doing his own thing. Though Embassy is ripe for getting bigger. They have Ivan Federico which is weird, but awesome. I'm sure he'd get along well with those crusty bastards in Grosso's latest loveletters.

Wood Shops must bee Swimming in Pools of Money with new Companies starting up left n right on the daily !!

Auby seems to think he's reinventing the wheel by having a deck with new & old school mounting holes........I guess its inevitable to hav eall these new companies starting up. Its like all these Soundcloud rappers having It all available at the click of a mouse.Making an Album or making a run of decks can be done in weeks now

Rear bolt pattern is fine, the tail would kick up too fast if the pattern was reversed. Just accommodating older trucks. Right?
