I love watching god level Brazilian ledge skaters do their thing. Looks like a third time around is coming. I'll update this shit when it does. In the meantime here's the final from the first event.

at the same time i hope these guys expand it to include pros from around the world before the berries or some other lame entity steals the idea.

You can't "steal the idea" of playing skate on a ledge. People wanted to see obstacle skate on a similar platform the moment BATB took off. The Berries was just too lame to understand that skate on other obstacles would raise interests. I assume because Borra wants to keep up a misguided idea of game of skate purity and a sense of ownership over the format which is really fucking dumb because he could've cornered the market. Anyway, I'm glad he didn't because the Brazilians on average are better at ledges. Also, I do like the unorthodox rules of alternating grinds and slides, rebates on every trick set, and two rebates for last trick. We get harder and more creative tricks that way. They definitely deserve credit for that.

He was in the first Nike video NBTT. I was surprised to see his name pop up again here, it's cool all the top Brazilians are in this series. He does look a bit weathered but it happens to everyone.

If you guys are talking about Fabio Cristiano as "the older guy", you should get know more about him. He's a legend! One of the most respected skaters in Brazil since the 90s. When there was no big names such as Luan and Felipe on international media, Fabio was pretty much like a Brazilian Koston, inspiring every kid that started skating 15-20 years ago.
He's not competing in Slides & Grinds 3 for what he can do now, but mostly by what he has built across his carreer. Respect the OGs!

the gap to ledge in LA that everyone skates, the one scott johnson does the 180 switch crook, he did the gap to noseblunt and nollie flipped out in the middle of the ledge back to regular. forget where though. dude is nuts. not too many people can fuck with any primitive rider on a ledge

I feel like there’s a certain skill involved in being able to hold one on the tail for a long distance with out it causing you to slip out. Makes it less offensive than nosegrind a that touch even though the same principle applies.

It was no guarantee that fakie ollie fs blunt would work out for him. No matter how good you can do that trick, it's still gonna be more risky to do than a more basic trick. So I understand his choice, if he didn't land it, he would lose his turn, but he would still be in the game.
I tend to do the same when I play a game of skate and it's working out quickly in my favor. I'll try something that's hard for me to do, instead of something i can rely on, so if it's not working out the other guy gets his chance to make a comeback. But if it does work out and you land your hard-to-do trick, I guess then you're a dick?

That trick always freaks me the fuck out. It's a trick I never even fantasize about when fantasizing about tricks, it's so weird.
Never even attempted it and frontside bluntslides are a comfortable trick for me. I've skated with Sean Gregoire a few times and he can do it pretty much every time - in the middle as well. Caught me off guard.

This dude looks like he just started yesterday (or 9 years ago on Long Island), and yet he's willing to go up against the fucking T1000 of Slides and Grinds. And dude did a sick ass fakie bennet grind too. He nearly landed the nose blunt. What made him so human is when he couldn't get the height for the nollie crooks. I think we've all been at the place where we can see the separation between what we're trying to do, and what we're capable of. And Melonio owns that so hard. Carlos had trouble setting tricks that we've seen him land first try too. He missed tailslide kickflip twice and just skipped to nollie heel tailslide kickflip. Missed his signature nollie bs 180 nose grind twice too. That said, Lehi was amazing. He set tricks basically no one but Carlos would get in two tries. Switch flip crooks bs and fs, switch heel crooks, and nollie heel 5-0? Ridiculous. They both had gorgeous switch flip bs tails. Brazil gene strong.
