Title: Panasonic HC-MDH2 for skateboarding?
Post by: Ziad on January 17, 2019, 10:33:43 PM
There's a good offer on one of these and I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's good to film skateboarding? or should I stick with a DSLR?

That thing looks big and bulky to film skateboarding with. How much would you be paying for it? You can get a decent HDSLR, fisheye and external mic for a couple hundred bucks nowadays. Or lurk ebay for an HVX200 if you want the built in handle.

If you wanna film HD get a hvx200 or hpx170. That’s my opinion

for a dslr you’re gonna want to get a servo zoom controlled lens and they are far from cheap. Not everyone makes them either. You’re better off buying an hvx if your only interest is shooting skating. You’re going to wind up spending more money in the long run if you go the dslr route
