saw this pop up (and then subsequently buried by a slew of ninejah and shredmaster keith posts) in the "lame instagram posts by pros" thread, but i don't find it lame at all. so i wanted to share with others who may have missed it. (and once i thought of that thread title it was too good not to use ;D.)

PJ is the metallica of skating.
First (WHL) part was just raw as all hell and the best shit ever
Second part (really Sorry) so good. so much smarter and powerful on his board but still great. may or may not even be better. subjective. undeniably great
Everything after was.....great....but...just doesnt have that thing or there just isnt enough.
Now its all just a joke at this point....
to the point where i dont even care if he has clips because its probably gonna be some tech shit on the same bench in the same school hes been skating since he got on NB# as opposed to hauling balls down brick or cobblestone roads slaying everything in his path. some things wernt even skatable in WHL and he made magic. (example the switch 180 then fs flip. huge crack before stairs. un

Nah he’s been on this shit for a while. He skated the same spot as me for years and one time his buddy asked me what I was listening to and I said biggie and he’s like music changes your energy as if it had me giving off vibes when I’m just trying to keep skating in front of arguably the best skater of all time.

Your guess is as good as mine. I think some folks here said it was all the same ledges. I didn't trust my memory so I went and rewatched the part. It's really fucking good. Maybe it doesn't have the same impact as those first couple parts but he is definitely ripping.
My homie is Sikh and he's cool as hell. Everybody needs to calm down and watch PJ's TriColor part if you haven't already.

Anyway, PJ is a hermit, but he does have 3 great parts. It’s not like he’s a one hit wonder. He’s a legend and still having a solid career.

I thought that Indian drum song he used was sick and matched really well with his tricks, yoga seems like a pretty cool thing to be into and some of those old hindu scriptures are really wild, good for him

Compared to a lot of "legendary" pros there's a lot of PJ footage out there, he's definitely not milking it. It's also easy to appear bland when taking PJHWL as a reference.

Awesome title for the thread. I think most people agree that Pj’s WHL part is one of the greatest parts of all time. Kinda crazy to have that as your debut part because I don’t think he could’ve ever topped it. But he didn’t need to. He made a great contribution to skating and gets to float of that for a lifetime I think.

Happens to people who have prolific debuts all the time. Musicians etc. WHL is Illmatic. Nas dropped plenty more great albums but some will always just say it’s not as good as Illmatic.

Just rewatched his Tricolor part again and it's indeed still fucking sick, crazy how insanely good people can be yet people still find ways to talk shit (I remember people saying they were let down by that part), his style makes all the tech super watchable (which I find rare) and his trick selection is full of taste, he doesn't just do complicated ledge tricks, he does the good kind of them in lines with flow and his determined landings still get me. Sure he's not hauling ass through Boston crust anymore for a VX shop video, I miss that PJ too but his WHL part wouldn't be as unique if he just replicated it, he's clearly moved on from that phase that was close to twenty years ago already now, (unfortunately) people should have stopped being delusional by expecting something as innocent and pure as soon as Really Sorry dropped, we're lucky we even got to get WHL.

Saw PJ at the skatepark the other day. His skating looked graceful and effortless. He was giving props to others skaters by doing a clap, 1 clap, and its sounds like no others clap. I feel honored to received some props, and to be able to watch him skate in real life. It looked like he had a turban on his head also.
