haven't really had the chance to check out any recent series, but The Wire is the GOAT and its predecessor The Corner which had 6 episodes is extremely good too. can find all the episodes of the corner on youtube i think
if you’re looking for something to watch, just watch *the wire again. each time you see it you’ll pick up on something you missed. best show of all time
Everyone's hitting you with the most known HBO stuff, and they're all great honestly - but my suggestions are for the shit on HBO that's really good nobody ever watches or talks about:good post, Show Me A Hero i'd never heard of and am now planning on watching
Show Me a Hero (David Simon - building low income housing in Westchester, NY and how the locals got angry about it)
Mosaic (Steven Soderbergh - murder mystery that's done really well - awesome music and video editing, good cast too)
Deadwood
I only watched this series about 2 weeks ago, but let me just say - it's as good as the Sopranos or The Wire...AND, if you choose to watch it, HBO is FINALLY going to make a deadwood movie that debuts MAY 31st. I guess this is 13 years later - but the movie is a concession for never making the last 2 seasons of deadwood, it was supposed to be 5 seasons. Ian McShane was born to play Al Swearengen
VEEP
This just ended too, and it's honestly one of the funniest things that's been on TV in the last 10 years. I never had a single soul to talk about with the show, and it never even mattered, because the one-liners, humor and characters were THAT good.
Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas
Decent show about social, political and economic shit affecting people. I don't agree with most of it, but Wyatt's pretty funny/sarcastic and the way the show flows is nice.
hell Yeah, veep ist amazing. It is really funny and well made. I have always thought that the truth of American politics is exactly in the middle between "house of cards" and "veep"!good post, Show Me A Hero i'd never heard of and am now planning on watchingExpand QuoteEveryone's hitting you with the most known HBO stuff, and they're all great honestly - but my suggestions are for the shit on HBO that's really good nobody ever watches or talks about:

Halfway through Euphoria Season One. Pretty gnarly subject matter but pretty fascinating.dude I watched that too and the pilot episode had me so turned off by it that I didn’t think I could finish then I caught the episode titles like ‘Shook one pt ll’ and kept watching then I noticed the clothing. Supreme, sci fi fantasy, peels, etc and was like what the fuck lol. But yeah strange editing but overall pretty cool. I liked it
Pros: Great casting, writing and direction. It’s editing style is a bit inconsistent but you gotta go with the flow I suppose.
Cons: The contemporary hip hop and pop music is pretty annoying. Also, the titles of the episodes usually reference 90’s hip hop songs which doesn’t work for me.
The Righteous Gemstones is also a very good show, too. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about it.
I am getting super excited for Watchmen, which is premiering a month from now.
I enjoy real time with bill maher
Big Love was great.
Tell Me You Love Me was only a season and was worth a watch.
Vice Principals was dark as fuck.
I liked True Blood.

His ongoing crying about the 'lazy millennials' is so embarrassingly bad I had to stop watching a while back. Not that he isn't on the verge of yelling at a cloud in general.
The Wire. Period.
I went to a live taping years ago just cause my mom wanted to go. Bill is a lame as hell try hard to me but Dan Rather was a guest and he was awesome.I don’t know what his problem is what his problemsExpand QuoteExpand QuoteI enjoy real time with bill maher[close]

Is with always bashing millennials . It’s pathetic for sure . Anyway I do like the guests he has on . I wasn’t surprised about his fat shaming rant .
Curb Season 10. This Sunday.
Just cause 1917 is coming out and the trailer looked rad I went back and binge watched Band of Brothers & The Pacific. Forgot how great those miniseries were.
For sure. His character is so odd. He doesn't do much and it makes you laugh. Little Orphan Funkhouser RIP.Expand QuoteCurb Season 10. This Sunday.[close]
yes i can't wait! it's gonna be a bummer with no funk man though :(

Outside of Galdalfini and a couple others the acting was weak, this was before great actors would settle for TV so it makes sense. I was rewatching it last year and was kinda thrown off.
Euphoria was pretty good too, kinda slipped under the radar for me when it came out.
