Title: I Need To Fix My Mac
Post by: burn_to_live on July 27, 2019, 08:48:03 AM
So basically, I got this Mac desktop computer for free.  It was in a e-waste pile at my work and I just swapped it up because it is like a $2k computer.  I went on it and it goes straight to this Mac OS Utilities Screen and I can't redownload the newest Mac OS because whenever I try it, it says that this item is temporarily unavailable. Is there any routes I can take to where I can re-install the hardware back onto the computer?

Re-install the mac os and software you mean? No. Especially if its associated with an appleiD.

It's a 2k desktop but it don't perform like one.
Oh alright. That's a bummer. Thanks for the help though.

If you have a chance to hear me out, there are alternatives to Mac OS such as Ubuntu 18.04 if you have an SD card laying around you can make a boot disk and install Ubuntu on your computer?!  I mean it is not Mac software but it does work....

OS?
first off have a sd card get Rufus an online disk partioner  download rufus also download Ubuntu or equivalent once both are downloaded plug in sd card run rufus and when prompted to put on a OS do so and you have a bootable sdcard with Linux.
