I feel like there are more ill underground skaters that are regular footed. Aaron Herrington, Bobby Puleo, Jason Spivey, Ricky Oyola... The regular footed stance may hold some sort of oldhead mentality. Either way there may just be more recognizable goofy footed names.

I think there is a style difference closely linked with eye dominance and directional rotation preference.

Although I'm regular footed, my favorite styles are usually goofy footed, and when I play SKATE3 I skate goofy. ;D
But hey, if some unknown dude shows up out of the blue and casually nollie backside flips past the poles all the way to the street at Wilshire, first try, no camera... then maybe we can replace Tom Penny as the GOAT. Adjusted for inflation, that's how far ahead someone would have to be to have the same impact Tom did (and it still wouldn't since we've become used to seeing massive hammers done smooth). Skills for their era is relevant. Regular wins until someone outdoes Tom Penny 1994.

i think he refined his ideas later on that more accurately described his goal as being something more akin to what i can only describe as 'stance-fluid' (some sort of forced ambidexterity)? i think ted talk era Mullen came not long after. who's to say which camp has his allegiance? this thread is beginning to remind me a bit of the whole racial draft sketch from Chappelle's show
