I would like to see more footage of Mike Vallely style skating.
The recent Heroin video had parts from Craig Questions & Dead Dave that a similar vibe.
Who else skates in this vain?
Boneless, beanplant, wallride, early grab... basically who doesn't ollie that's still entertaining to watch?
-
Andy Roy is certainly entertaining, but for other reasons than his technical abilities

Are you trying to justify not being able to Ollie?
Honest question, not trying to cool guy you.
-
Less Bonelesses and more Slides ala Leo Valls.
-
they're called longboarders

I can ollie. I just have a niche when I watch videos & want to watch good skate clips during quarantine...
I don't get hyped on watching flip tricks down stairs or flip in flip out manuals videos.
Milton, T-Funk, Winkowski some big names that make me want to skate.
Barrier Kult clips rule. Bev-Up's slappy part ruled. Ryan Reyes & Gravette are creative. Shit in that area. Craig and Dave in the Heroin video were refreshing.
Baghead always delivers the quality material. Cheers.

It is pretty wild (and kind of cool) that there are that many people who don't necessarily ollie into stuff but who are putting out parts and are recognizable.
There was a point when I was going to make a "One of these guys in every crew" thread, about how I feel like everyone has the one friend that who can ollie insanely high but can't do anything else, the friend who constantly lies about stuff he did when no one was around, etc. But one of those that I have definitely encountered multiple times is the guy doesn't ollie and is (maybe oddly) proud of it.

You shoud definitely make that thread.
There was a similar one on the NBA reddit page a few weeks ago about every stereotypical guy that gets on the court to play pick up.
Was hilariously accurate.

There are ollies, but you might like this.
edit - fuck, for some reason the climax of the part is cut from that upload. Video normally ends on a zoom out of the city retracing the whole path he took whilst filming the whole part, and it turns out to be in the shape of a P (hence him going back to the statue at the start) that keeps zooming out till it says 'keep pushing'. That 10-second sequence is really what ties the whole part together conceptually, so it's kind of dumb to upload a version without it.
-
Bill Danforth comes to mind. He placed top 10 in an NSA street contest without it.
-
Thanks for the suggestions.
for anyone else interest:
K-Rod on Surpreme / old Polar does a lot of earlygrabs/wallrides.
RollerSurfer/Ben Koppl, Fustoop on instagram does some good slappy/wallrides.

Bonus points for pushing mongo, too.

Would Slappyreds /Ace Pelka count? I find him unpleasant to watch but dig what he does, just not how he looks doing it.

Not sure if it's exactly what you're after but @skateboardtohellbook on instagram has some interesting trickery.

He used to be pro of course he can Ollie.
All jokes aside I used to see kids rip transition than can hardly Ollie on flat. Fat airs, inverts, proper back smith grinds around pockets. Then they can hardly Ollie. Truly befuddling.

This is one of my favorite pieces. Props for posting it.
I follow a guy in Albuquerque. He's a photographer I'm pretty sure. Everything he does it sick. Has the perfect look. I don't think I've seen him ollie but I can watch him and his friends skate ditches all day.

Some good video dumps here. I’m with the op on this one.

Check out Pete Pigs on IG. Boston-area skater in his 50s. Been skating forever. Never learned to ollie. Dude rips, esp considering his age.

Wow I follow him and he rips, but had no idea he didn't ollie at all. Kinda makes him radder.
And yeah, Roller Surfer rules

Dude turned pro based on coverage of nothing but super gnarly nose jams / dump trucks
Still
Haven’t really seen any of these tricks done by anyone else since.

Wow that was pretty sick. Never heard of him. Tim Jackson vibes. Danny Dicola brought some of those nose jam things back recently.

Dude ollies a double set at 1:36 tho (albeit with ghost pop).
-
Some good Instagram recommendations in this thread.
Krod has some cool non-ollie stuff, he offsets it with a pretty good heelflip game so it’s not as gimmicky as it should be.
