Paul Rodriguez was the clear cut Gold medal winner but back in 2012 Sheckler nailed his final run to swoop in and steal Silver from Nyjah. Both have completely different style/tricks but do you agree with the judges? This was also the year Nyjah had a run in with the cameraman.

Nyjah did harder tricks but I thought Sheckler's run was more enjoyable to watch.

He won me over with his lil blunt transfers and the backside 3 at the end.

Nyjah was definitely technically more difficult, I mean he tossed a tre flip lip in the middle of a run in 2012, but he barely used any of the course. Just sessioned the one rail. Felt kind of low risk.
Sheckler skated the course. Felt like that should have gotten more weight. Much more well rounded.

Any tic-tacking should automatically demote you to valet parking Tony's Bentley.
-
Shecks for sure. His run was solid and varied. Nyjah was just riding back n forth like a mini
-
Sheckler used the whole course excellently, but I gotta admit nyjah tricks were a full tier higher level than Ryan’s.

I like all the classic Larry bird and Jordan videos being posted up in this abscess of live sports, but this is too far, no?
Did you care in 2012? So why start now?
-
Shecks all the way.

It’s about conversation during this time when lots of people have free time and are bored.
Why talk\care about anything in the past at all?
Maybe we should only talk about the future?

Nyjah Huston skates like a cat would skate

if all contest runs had the energy shecklers run had i probably would have watched more contests.

What are you talking about cats are stylish

Nyjah despair made me laugh.

I prefer Sheckler's guided tour of the park.

could care less about either honestly but Sheckler used the course better
what is everyones thoughts on the outcome of the 1999 X-Games?
-
Watching this made me realize that Etnies has had the Mariana on the market for a ridiculously long amount of time. It's sooo ugly. Why not keep the Raps around, or Intercitys? They had some classic silhouettes that are timeless and they chose the Mariana...

Needs more street luge.

1999 X-Games? Chris Senn winning Street Park wasn't really a surprise, he was killing contests at the time. Bucky Lasek winning his first of eight Vert Gold medals by fulling of what would become his signature trick, FS heelflip gaytwist and the crowd went nuts. But of course the biggest story propelled skateboarding to its peak when Tony pulled the first 900. But let's not forget Colin McKay would have won Vert Best Trick with his three insane tricks: fakie FS flip (no grab), switch shuv noseslide shuv out and nollie backflip flip (no grab)

And that's the correct way of naming that trick IMO.
Nyjah got robbed too.

Also backing Shecks. Nyjah’s three dismounts were so clumsy that it completely detracted from his hard tricks - and deserved to be deducted to 3rd place for sure.

I said this before and I say it again. Back when Sheckler was the TMZ guy par excellence of skateboarding (and I guess Muska as well, now that I think of it), he annoyed me unreasonably much. Looking back on that time, when a few more has taken on the lifestyle of young Shecks, I for some reason find it easier to appreciate him. Sheckler looks really good on a skateboard - and he always have. That is one thing Nyjah never has done, and a huge reason why I still despise most of his footage these days. Sure Nyjah is talented and does some bat shit crazy shit, but it is also the pinnacle of highly skillful skating without any style. I don't even think there is a competition between the two runs. Sheckler uses the course is an a great and fluid way (and he does some insane stuff). Nyjah just skates it with no imagination and the stiffness of Ron Jeremy's cock!

I agree. Those dismounts are disgusting and it happens simply because he is trying to squeeze in so many tricks at the sacrifice of style and fluidity. He plays it like a Tony Hawk video game rather than just skating which is why I prefer Sheck's run
