Title: Posting an avatar image

I'm not super savvy, so any help would be appreciated.  I can't seem to crack how to upload an avatar image.  When I link a url, it gives me the broken image icon in the circle where the picture should be.  Thanks everyone.

Whats the url your trying to use? It might be you are missing the http/https portion.

Edit:  that worked this time.  Is there anyway to position/edit the pic used?  I have a bit of dead space showing.   Thanks for your help!

Nah it doesn't have any of that, it all has to be done prior to being uploaded to which ever hosting you want to use.
