any experience with this one/

I am skeptical to use a different brand cleaning tape on a sony vx.

in my experience, if youre using sony tapes, use a sony cleaner tape. likewise if you are using maxell tapes, use a maxell cleaner tape. this is because the manufacturers use different lubricants in their tapes which are not cross compatible. if you are switching brands, i would always hit the camera with the outgoing brand cleaner tape and then use the incoming brand cleaner tape before any kind of filming. it kind of is the same thing when conditioning pipettes, test tubes, and various types of science equipment, its just prepping your gear.
