Uhh I don't really know where to ask this, but I'm trying to find a place to rent somewhere in LA. I'm looking on craigslist but I don't know if these listings are scams. I'm seeing two bedrooms for like 1900-2100 a month, is that normal?

Zillow is a better site to search flor apartments and has much less scam listings.

@GardenFresh Hmm yeah that is pretty expensive but people were shocked when I told them I would find listings for about 19-20 a month in la. So I was questioning if the ones I saw were a scam lol

Might be a scam might not be . Rent has gone down a lot during covid . A lot of people leaving forever and there’s probably not gonna be a lot of real work for people to move for until early 2022 . So get it while you can.

IMO the best renting in LA is east of sunset, look in echo park, Chinatown, even NeLA. I’ve lived in apartments and houses, and if you look hard enough you can find houses that rent cheaper than apartments, especially in Chinatown (just moved from the crib in Chinatown.)
I grew up in CA, the way I find housing is skating and driving around and looking for “For Rent” signs. The people who post signs in their windows and yards aren’t usually posted on the web and are the cheapest. If you’re looking for dirt cheap and don’t care about the area or size of the crib, look for studios/1bds in Ktown west of Olympic. The area sucks and is run by local gangs, but shits mad cheap, especially when you get to Washington by the 10 freeway.

This is pretty good advice. I had a 4 bedroom apartment on Normandie and 3rd that we rented for $1800 a month. I once had a gun pulled on me while walking to the bowling alley, and yet, the shittiest part of living there was constantly having to find parking. There were times I had to take an Uber back to my apartment from my car

Rialto/Riverside but I spent most of my time hanging out in Rancho Cucamonga. You from around there?
1800 for a 4 bedroom sounds insane. Im assuming this was awhile ago?

I moved out 2.5 years ago. Roommates were flaky and unsure of wanting to stay in LA and I wanted my own place. Moved into a 1.5 bedroom by myself in echo park
