Interesting. While I love the Tom Knox part, it is neither as groundbreaking as Gonz in Video Days nor does it show an approach that is progressive on all terrain. I would say the modern day peak Gonz is closer to maybe Rowan? I don't know if I am doing this wrong but I like the thread idea.

Nik Stain is this generation's most direct (and most obvious) spiritual successor to Ricky Oyola. Discuss.

Rowan is definitely a very good contemporary analogue to Gonz, he has a similar loosiness in his style. Post a part!
Funnily enough given its "SOTY season", on rewatching the Gonz part I saw a lot of similarities to Mason Silva as well (alley-hoop fs 180 to sw bs 50s!). It's insane how closely that part prefigures so much of today's street skating in general.

This one ^ is spot on, and so is this:
Nik Stain is this generation's most direct (and most obvious) spiritual successor to Ricky Oyola. Discuss.

Never though of it before, but makes perfect sense now: the simple tricks done well, the endless lines on relatively random street spots, the speed.

Style, approach and power in general, but especially Cards' last and Pedro's first front board.
