“His new collection for CELINE HOMME is called “The Dancing Kid”, and it’s a wild, carefree celebration of self-expression that’s rooted firmly in the turning-point mood of the 2020s...it holds up a mirror to the creative, eclectic nature of youth culture today.
In keeping with its restless, freewheeling spirit, as well as its skate culture influences, we photographed the collection on New York street skater Mr Keith “Shredmaster” Hardy, who takes us on a day- and night-long journey through Manhattan’s Lower East Side. If dance floors look set to remain empty for some time yet, Mr Hardy, like so many of Mr Slimane’s inspirations for “The Dancing Kid”, offers a timely reminder that the spirit of dressing well lies in enjoying the clothes we wear, no matter where we are.”

A bag is a bag.
Better a few goofy instagram pics than a lifetime of Red Bull embroidered on every hat you wear.

Is it really though? This sort of shit seems like a thinly veiled Red Bull patch and kind of comes across as pretentious. Whatever, fashion sucks and I'm stupid, so who cares.

His death was a tragic. The fact that he survived his false demise makes the hard to bare news even more unfortunate.

It's a lose-lose. None of these people want to be broke post-skateboarding so I can't hate too hard.
Lucien/Cher/Leo/etc promoting high fashion is corny, but in their position I'd prefer doing ad runs in place of being contractually obligated to have a Monster logo sewn on my hat/shirt anytime I'm on camera.

It’s so funny when Slap is wrong. Shredmaster Keith is doing it right.

Hello Keith. Nice to meet you bud. No one in the cosmos can convince this head to pay 400+ for a beanie. No meter what inflation/exchange rates happen.

All I got to say is that he should lay off the booze for awhile.

This guy is worse than Greco in his Johnny Thunders phase or Dill in his New York phase. Just reeks of effort and costumes. Nothing natural about Mike. He’s the flavor of the month for the NY scene. If he wasn’t* black no one would give him a moment.

exact why I don’t get the appeal. This dude’s style looks like calculated fake steeze. Keith and Beatrice use their tokeness to stay in the scene and people eat it up.

Let me put it this way: if you look up Asphalt Poser Club or #whyIdontskateboard on instagram, you'll see all the egregious examples of brands trying to use skateboarding in their marketing. It's been going on for years and years, and it's not going to stop any time soon. To skaters, it's very obvious when they've just handed a skateboard to a model. This way, it's got a little bit more credulity.
At least they're supporting a real skater when they use the image. Yes, it's absolutely still culture vultures, but at least they're hooking up someone who skates all the time, and in return they get something that looks a bit more genuine.
To whoever said, "He's not going to convince me to buy a $400 beanie", they're not trying to. Skateboarders are nowhere near their key demographic. They're using skateboarding as an image to market to people who know nothing about skateboarding.
To whoever said, "Better this than a monster energy logo", exactly right.
tl;dr: More power to him, fuck it, get that cheque.

SMH, the Slap troglodytes came out of their caves to rip on the Shredmaster the moment they saw him associated with a fashion brand. They don't know shit about New York skating if they cant reasonably respect and understand Keith's influence. How much you wanna bet these fools can't even treflip?

Hey Keith I can’t really tell who you are actually talking to in this post. Like are you just talking to people on slap who aren’t “troglodytes” or to yourself or is it rhetorical?

I think it’s worth noting this is a shoot for Mr Porter. It’s not associated directly with Chanel, Hedi, or his team it seems.
I’m not sure how much this gig would pay. Can’t imagine much for an online editorial for a web store. The blame, if any, can also be placed on the author, publisher, and stylist
On a side note, I’m surprised slap has been silent on the Moschino x Palace collaboration. Jeremy Scott is kooky enough as is.
