I really like the mentions feature. It's nice to see when you log in that someone has directly responded to you.
With that being said, I've noticed that when a user has a common name, ie Frank, and you go to @ mention them, there will be several of the same name that show up. Regardless of which Frank you choose, it will select the same user profile, so there is no way to select the correct @ Frank that you mean to address.
I really like this feature, I hope there will be a way around this.

When I use the mentions @Grind King Rims it gives me a selection of the usernames that match it, is this not what you experience or am I misunderstanding the issue?

Sort of. The issue that I'm describing occurs when two usernames are the same, or very close to the same.

In this example, the Frank's listed are distinct users, but regardless of which one I select, the mention function will only mention one particular user, and it's not the one I wanted to mention. So whether I choose the first, third or fifth in the drop down selection menu, it will always mention member #20855

Hey, I don't think this ever got resolved really. Here's another example.
I wanted to mention poster named Thom, here https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?action=profile;u=37484
But when I go to use the Mention function, @ Thom gives two users. Regardless of which poster I click from the drop-down menu, it will select @Thom, which is not the poster named Thom that I want to mention.

So this is due to them have the same "Display Name". I could switch it possible to their "Username" which have to be unique, but I feel then that would create another issue where you would want to mention someone, but wouldn't know their "Username" cause you would only see their Display name on the post? Thoughts?

Yeah, I'm more of an idea guy, you know?
Ah no, it's not a huge issue since it'll only affect a relatively small number of posters. Seems like keeping it as the display name will cause less issues? I'll cede to your better judgement.
