Mark Waters has been battling COVID-19 and is not doing well. He and his wife have not been able to work, and expenses are beginning to pile up. Please help if you can.

Rooting for Mark to beat this wicked virus. My cousin was on a vent and she got off, so it is possible.
-
JUST SAW THIS ON EMERICA
If you ever liked Es Games of Skate or "Wild In The Streets" this is your dude. Swift prayers for him 🙏
-
One of the good guys. Please donate if you can. Mark has helped so many skaters for decades.

The ole takes one to know one, I’m sure everyone thinks you’re wonderful

Mark is an asshole, always has been.
Weird thing to say about someone who's on a ventilator.
-
Not only has Mark done a ton for skateboarding, he also did so much for the music scene in Southern California for a few years. He opened such an awesome venue/skatepark a few years back(that unfortunately came to an end).

Then make a separate thread about it. Thia one isn't the place
-
@Alan @layzieyez can this topic get pinned to UWTB?
-
Mark was the best in 90-93 woodward, helping all the kids take pictures, even though it might not have been his class. He helped me get a few great shots of early AW Potter, Dyrdek, and Santos and Brauch. Followed most everything sense.
-
Mark is awesome. Fuck anyone that says otherwise, but especially in this thread. Please help them out.
-
Mark is an asshole, always has been.
You seriously can't put your opinion aside or find another post to share this on?

Mark is an asshole, always has been.
you seem like a douche, and this makes me like Mark even more...
-
Mark was so nice when I met him. Pretty sure he was the director at Woodward at the time. 90-92 were the years I went. Don't think he ran the photo class, but took the time to help me compose shots of Pitre, Dyrdek, Santos, May anyways. Encouraging anyone in the photography class.

Update from the GoFundMe:
"There are no words. Your generosity and love and support is SO overwhelming and incredibly, incredibly kind. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Mark continues to fight. Still critical, still in the ICU and still needing a ventilator to help him breathe. I keep expecting him to walk in the door and give us his 2 cents about yesterday’s events . I know we all wish this nightmare was over, but we’re told it’s going to be a long process.
Please keep praying and sending all your good energy. ❤️"

damn Covid... I remember his name since I started skating in 89. Thanks for the years of wonderful photos and helping shape my youth. He was also involved with some awesome SD bands in the late 90's (Crimson Curse being one)
Rest easy man
-
Damn
-
His wife just updated his Facebook page that he passed away this morning.
-
Fuck, that's awful. I got to go out to LA for an Emerica event and he helped coordinate the whole thing as far as my flights, hotel, shuttle, etc. My flight was delayed and I didn't land until 2am but he still answered his phone and solved my shuttle issues and had a smile on his face in the morning when we saw each other. Heartbreaking. RIP.
-
Rest easy...
-
Damn. Rest In Peace. Wishing the best for his family. It looks like a lot of people have pulled together for them.
-
Awful news. I am glad to see they have a huge support system around their family.
-
RIP. Great human who loved skateboarding. Thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.
-
Fuck, my thoughts and prayers are with the family. He was a good man who loved skating with every fiber of his being.
-
that is horrible

Rest In Peace Mark <3
-
RIP. I was really hoping he would pull through. This is just awful.
-
Grim. I met him at Woodward in early 1990s. He was a rad dude. Hopefully skateboarding might start taking this a bit more seriously now.
-
RIP Mark, seems like he was a great dude. Thoughts go to his family and friends
-
Rest easy, mark. Thank you for your contributions with skateboarding/tws and heavy condolences for the family!
-
RIP Mark!

Such a bummer, huge loss for skateboarding
-
Rest in peace to Mark. He left some big shoes to fill. Still doesn't feel real. Fucking Covid.
-
I didn't realize until this happened that I had actually met him several times over the years, and he was the nicest dude. Just being super friendly to a complete stranger. Really sad to hear. RIP.
-
RIP Mark, the world and skating is better off because you were here.
Wear a mask.
-
RIP
-
Goodbye my friend.
-
Rest in Peace, Mark. You were one of the best dudes in the industry I ever met.
-
An irreplaceable human being and a huge loss for the skateboarding world.
-
Thinking of his family, friends, and loved ones. From all the posts via pros on Instagram you can tell just how great of a person he was. Everyone needs friends like that. RIP Mark
-
RIP Mark
Just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone to take this shit seriously. I know everyone is sick of the masks and it's easy to become somewhat numb to all these stories but this let this be a reminder of the human cost of this pandemic.
I spent most of November and December working in the ICU of one of the worst covid hotspots in the country (at the time) and it was really hard to watch so many people die from something that is preventable. Please don't give up hope, and don't treat the vaccine as a solution because we're nowhere near that point yet. No lone wolf, selfish bullshit.. Everyone needs to do their part and that means masks, social distance, hand hygiene, and isolate as much as you can. This is our chance to finally find our footing and climb Mt. Covid. Stay safe everyone.
-
RIP
For everybody struggling with mental health, reach your friends and family, thats the best we do to our selfs :)
Hope you are all good pals!
-
Ii watched Misled Youth earlier in the week and noticed that in the credits that Mark gets thanked by pretty much every skater individually.
RIP
