Title: what is wrong with my truck?
Post by: topfrog10 on January 19, 2021, 01:12:35 PM
I recently got new trucks because I thought that the reason that my trucks were tilted which was resulting in one of my wheels being off the ground when I put the board down without standing on it. New trucks with my old bushings have resulted in the same issue. This isn't the first set of bushings I have had this issue with but I truly don't know what I'm doing to cause this. I like my trucks tight (tight enough I get clowned on for it) but I don't know if there is any way I can avoid this issue. In the pic of my whole board, you can see that the farther truck is tilted and the front truck is straight. I'm pretty new to skating (6 months) and troubleshooting issues so I would appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Is it possible that your board is warped? That's where I see this same phenomenon happening most of the time.
Best of luck ferreting out the cause.

This is the third board I've had the issue on with the second set of trucks and second set of bearings, so I don't think its possible that all of those boards have been warped as I've gotten them from different shops and different brands.

If that is the nose end closest to the camera, then the tilted one is most likely back truck and you are goofy footed?

Heel side will always have more impact and especially if you ride tight trucks, the bushings just will not bounce back the way they are supposed to when they are done up too tight, especially right from go, when they need some break in time.

If you have stock bushings in those Ventures, they are medium hard to start with, but will definitely stay a certain way if cranked down and have hard heel landings.
