Any pals live in the memphis area? I'll be moving to Millington TN (20 min from Memphis) this June. I seen they have a newish park out there in some areas of memphis called Raleigh that looks like a really fun park. Also saw that shop/indoor park which seems pretty cool. How is the skate scene out there? Open to new skaters coming in or is there a bunch of clicks and stuff out there? I'm a sort of older dude that's 31 and I skate alot of parks but also enjoy curbs and can still enjoy the streets and filming if I'm going out with a solid crew of homies. Any info on the memphis scene or peeps who live out there would be awesome! Can't wait to be out there skating some new scenery and making some new skate shalomies.

Not from there, but I visited on a work trip recently. I skated Memphis skate park, which was fun, a lot more transition oriented than my preference but I’m a ledge guy. Also skated Al town DIY which was super sick, but a lot of the stuff there was a bit gnar for me hahah. I went out at 8am on a Sunday so not many people skating and it was like 30 degrees that day so I only made it like an hour at each spot.
Sorry don’t have a ton to add but figured I’d give my 2 cents on the couple places I have been.

I'm from Tupelo, MS which isn't too far from there - around the same age as you. So I'd trek up to Memphis and link up with those crews pretty often when I was growing up skating. I don't really visit that often but I could probably put you in touch with some people from around there if you're interested.

Oh Lord fuck Tupelo Mississippi, hooked up with a cute kinda punky Marilyn Manson girl from burger king early 1999 and we hung out around town (I was doing landscaping for the golf course there) not much to do there except bang and listen to rap and metal.
Long story short a bunch of people who knew that girl caught wind of me which weren't hyped about me, and told me it was time to go. (Cornered me outside her house)
You hear about the south and shotgun weddings? Well I wasn't going to get tied down to that nonsense or get lynched for fucking the farmers daughter.
Memphis is seriously a doozy of a place, I got a biased perspective as I got my orbital tripod smashed with a brick whilst sleeping but I slashed one person with my knife so I guess we're even.
