Posted the finnish site because it's english + euro prices but sale should be on every vans site.

First vans shoes in quite some time for me, figured for 30-50 % off i won't be too mad about the sole disappearing after a month.

Where do you guys live? I go buy my plain white tees from the little old lady that owns the local underwear shop in the city center here in Italy. €10 a pop, 100% cotton, top quality, last forever. Prior to that I was buying from Merz B Schwanen but those cost like €60 and they're always out of stock.

EDIT: This is the company that the local shop gets their blanks from... The quality is very nice. I will see if they allow personal orders as soon as the website is updated.

I hope they are not narrow, I’ve never tried them on. The colorway I do like, even though I have been pretty exclusively skating black shoes for the most part

UK would be good if you`re in the UK, otherwise you have to pay tax on products below 150€ and tax + duty on products over 150€. In Austria you have to pay 20€ tax on all imports from third countries since the 1st of July. So keep that in mind when ordering from outside of the Union.

I used to order almost everything from uk but nowadays is not worth anymore.

In Spain not all the packages go through customs but if they check yours it's 20 euros for the process + 10-15% of the value of the shipment.

It really depends on the company and what you are ordering, I've got a few bits from carpet before brexit and a few bits from shops and people in france after brexit without import tax but then i got another carpet board from the states and payed £60 in imports

I try to skate 3+ months with a board coz of the money. You could look for decks on sale but to make sure that the decks are from this year (just look the brands annual drops to see the model). I just bought scumco board from this spring collection that was on sale for 50 euro. Jart and cruzade are also 50 euro but i think it is better if you find bbs decks (dlx brands, polar, passport, the killing floor...) coz they last longer, or eventually r7 dwindle decks on sale.

Post by: trash on September 11, 2021, 02:57:05 AM
I ended up just buying a Mob (?) complete, it was a German brand. No clue about the brand itself but I didn't want to spend a lot when my other boards are on the way. It doesn't feel too bad though, just heavy.
Title: Re: European sale gear thread
Post by: El Freegano on September 11, 2021, 07:24:47 AM
I think Mob complete is a good deal for 100 euro. Never tried them but i read the decks are with rasin epoxy glue, the trucks are polster, another german brand that have the same geometry like thunder, and the wheels are probably cheap shit. I am interested to hear your feedback on the trucks though. the complete is with the standard trucks that are a bit heavier (they also have lights versions), but what about the metal, the grinding, the turning, the durability?

They are literally off branded thunders. A friend of mine had some at some point and they felt fine. You’ll be alright  ;)

Respect. As someone from Canada I can honestly say I have wasted hours of my life on that thread. I think I like seeing other people spend money on things I want at a lower price. America has some fucked up deals.

I might be wrong but from my very limited understanding of economics and consumer markets, isn’t it because the domestic market in America is fantastically large? Most of my mates who travelled to the US always mention how cheap shoes and clothes are there compared to Europe as well.

EU puts an import tax on companies that are based outside of EU, usually around 30% give or take.

So even if a Polar board is made in the same factory as a Quasi, it will still be about 10€+ cheaper because the company is registered in Europe.

Hey I had to check it. It really depends what Tarif number you or the customs agent uses to import he goods. The one has 25% penalty for US goods + the 2,7% and the one just the 2,7%. And there are some loopholes that can be used.

They have some decks from this spring that ar eon sale right now. Here you can find two models of David Abair 8.25 and one team deck 8.125 https://www.sprouters.de/?s=scumco&post_type=product
and here there are two other models of Kyle Nicholson (i got this and the dimensions are 8.06/31/14, not like the mentioned in the site 8/31.875) and Downey 8 and 8.25 (which i saw in other site mentioning the dimensions as 8.25/31.75/14.5) https://www.titus-shop.com/en/search?sSearch=scumco They are ps stix and I am very content with the deck after three sessions now. It is definitely a softer and more flexible feel than my other polar board. May be it wont last as long as the polar but it is a pleasure to sk8 it. Go buy now! :D

So you were the mf that stole the Indy's from my cart! I was choosing the deck and suddenly they were gone...  >:( >:( >:(

I ended up getting some Film trucks instead for 25euros (for this price I wanted to give them a try), and put together a wider brand new set-up that ended up costing like 110euros. So crazy.
Got loads of clothes for my girlfriend too. Junkyard just goes dummy with the sales I swear.

I thought that Baker decks were higher in price because when Jacopo went pro there was such an enormous demand for a local pros deck that they could charge more for them and people would pay... but then the price stayed the same so maybe the demand is still there. But I really don't see much besides Jacopo decks here anyway, maybe some of the team decks, but no other pro models.

i received my order today, pretty happy with it, made a great cruiser with indie hollow forged, polar surf jr, 92a sml wheels, all that for less than 80 euros. even bought a polar griptape because it wasnt expensive at all. and also i didnt know the board came with a free grip for so cheap lol, the free grip seems to grip ok from my hand but i didnt tried it yet because i used the polar one.
also, i took 2 surf jr, this means I have 3 of them at home, yes i need support, yes ...  also took other useless hat, beanie, socks. all that for 120 euros. this was the craziest buy of the year, i should had bought way more but i didnt know if it was safe or not. it really is.

My order from junkyard arrieved yesterday :) It feels like christmas :D I got three decks for me (sour gustav 8, enjoi thaynan 8 and baker spanky 8.125), one sour deck for the daughter of my wife, indy forged hollow 139 tom knox, thunder 147 lights ishod and a pair of risers that happened to be shock pads. All for 174 euros, insanely cheap. There is a mismatch of the sour decks lengths. On the net (junkyard and also the offical sour page) and on the top of decks the lengths were marked as 31.28, but in reallity they are 31.7. This is the 8 inch S2 shape. Anyway, considering the price i can not complain about it :) The shop grip tape is perforrated so it is easily applied, but it feels less grippy than jessup.
And again - Thanx a lot for sharing this sale!

I actually like the generic grip that was sent with my decks from junkyard. At first when I pulled it out of the box it looked pretty cheap and suspect, I thought about going to the shop and buying some jessup... but then I said fuck it and set up a board.

It's rubbery and black like Mob but not as thick and not nearly as grippy. I prefer jessup to mob always, but I will sand it down on occasion to coincide with the level of shoe wear I have at the time. I think I prefer this generic grip to Mob, but I would still prefer jessup given the option.

how much do you weigh? all of the boards i ordered are control. last board i've broken was a bbs but it had to be defective or something (30 minutes of skating flat and it broke on a tre flip) because they don't usually break on me, before that i broke two snack boards, one was clutch and one was ps stix, both were trash. i weigh about 80kgs, give or take 2 depending on the day.

I had a horrible experience with Titus, they messed a few orders (lost packages and wrong sizes in decks and clothing). Their customer service take ages to answer and they never apologize.

Freedom, Skatedeluxe or Junkyard are way better.

Been planning a vacation to Germany and ended up at the Titus website. Looks like lots of good deals

https://www.titus-shop.com/en

I had a horrible experience with Titus, they messed a few orders (lost packages and wrong sizes in decks and clothing). Their customer service take ages to answer and they never apologize.

Freedom, Skatedeluxe or Junkyard are way better.

Congrats on your dose of typical German customer service! Did you get blamed for it too?  ;D

I've ordered three times from titus, no issues.

I know a lot of people don't like titus but i have also ordered three times some products that i can not find in bulgaria and didn't have any bad experiences. The one time there was a technical problem with the page and their customer service was very kind and helped me very fast with my order.

I have also ordered a couple of times at titus and the only issue I ever have is the shitty titus griptape with the ugly logo you get with every deck.

These don't even register as sales with me anymore though after the junkyard sale.

Yup, after junkyard any other sale doesn't look like a sale but skatedeluxe have good offer for loophole wheels that i would reccommend if you haven't tried.

Thanks
Titus has physical shops though but skatedeluxe is some european skateboarding amazon. And just like amazon they largely profited from COVID.
Skatepro is even worse, selling scooters, waveboards, etc.

In this economy i can't blame people for going for the best sales. But hear the consequences
The sad part is that all these sales are the result of excessive preordering and bad reading of post COVID economy. All shops did the same mistake but huge ecommerce platforms went too far. Hence these sales that make no sense.

To keep it short those who made a bigger mistake devalue products (because they don't care) and lure customers out from shops who were smarter but have a way smaller reach.

Enjoy the sales but keep in mind that entities like skatedeluxe and skatepro got rich during covid and will make brick & mortar shops disappear sooner or later

Didn't know Titus has actual shops. Almost every shop has a bargain bin when I was skint that's what I did, or shop boards. Like if your broke it's not going on the wall.

Titus is the oldest Skateshop in Germany, probably in Europe (est. 1978!)
They had always Shops.
Skatedeluxe is acting like a Skateboard Distributor and is doing a good job so far. Just online.

Both are far away from some kind of Zumies/ (Blue Tomato)/ Skatepro etc. only monetising some Kids slush money.

The fatal trend of dying Skateshops started before the last two years, sadly :(

Route one in the UK has a decent sale at the moment and there's a code THANKYOU10 that takes an additional 10% off of everything.

Normally I'm not too phased by this type of deal, but I've just seen that new Limousine and Sci-Fi Fantasy boards are £92, while most others are hitting £80. Half price boards at the old prices are not to be sniffed at!

SkateDeluxe has 20% off today (Halloween) using code HAUNTED20.

Yes, we all hate skatedeluxe because it is the amazon of skateshops and 20% isn't a huge discount but I wanted to get some pads and none of the local shops carry them, so I was happy to save a few bucks.

They have powell dragons in stock as well as those new Tom Penny Es which I thought about but realized I don't need anymore shit but it could be of interest for some pals.

Same, had to take two sets of the Spitfires plus two sets of Indy forged hollows (144 and 149) to justify the shipping and customs to Switzerland tho. I am still going to save hundred bucks.

Yeah their website was definitely shitting the bed yesterday… took me 2h to look through it and buy when I could’ve done it in 30mins. I guess it was overloaded with people checking the sale.
Anyway, still managed to get a bunch of dime hoodies, 2 decks and a set of F4s for 200€ (that’s not even the retail for 2 hoodies)… pretty stoked on that!

Titus has the magenta decks on sale now , but they are pricier than a coupleof weeks ago   ::)

Need to get some new decks and was hoping black friday would be a good time to score some.

Yeah, man. Noticed the same. Titus has really upped their prices. Spits used to be 49€ but now they’re 69€
Skate deluxe has had them at 60 for many months now.

It’s not a sudden inflation thing. That shits gradual. Not 20€ price increase overnight.

I thought I was going to get a new setup soon, but with the stonks going up like this, I’m just not into it.
If you entered Skatedeluxes giveaway, and didn’t win, you get a 20% off voucher code, but still won’t beat the price I paid for my current setup two months back.
I’m going to be sitting on my money for now.

Just an email from UPS when the package should/would arrive.

Date was correct, the expected hour not.
My wife ordered some Vans, together with 2 pairs for the kids.

Shipping also with UPS and expected delivery monday. They also suddenly showed up yesterday.

Would not stress too much, as long as you have the confirmation mail from Bonkers?

I'll be travelling to the UK (Reading) in January for a work conference, may stick around for a few days to skate some spots. I don't want to check in a suitcase with a deck, I'll so I'll pack my trucks and wheels and get a board shipped from a local shop.

Which are the bigger stores in the UK or EU that can do affordable decks (and other soft goods) and shipping? I'll place the order a week before I arrive so I can pick it up from the concierge when I'm there.

If it's going to be too cold and wet to skate in the UK in early January do let me know too, so I'll save myself the disappointment.

Thanks!

If you’re content with skating indoors I could see it working out for you. How long of a conference is it?

I don’t live there, but I hear Britain and Denmark pretty much have the same climate.
It basically rains/snows about 170 days out of the year.

Check this, based in the UK they have some nice deals. The choice is somewhat limited but they have Swiss, Adidas, Indy, Spitfire and in the deck department mostly crap but Anti Hero eagles and the odd good bloard (spotted a passport in a sea of Element). I ordered my bearings there and despite exorbitant shipping and prohibitive customs still saved a decent buck compared to Swiss retail.

Loads of options if you’re determined. It’s going to be cold though.
Largest/easiest options will be RouteOne or Rollersnakes.
Individual stores across the country include:
Slam City
Welcome Leeds
Bored of Southsea
Decade skate store
Native skate store
Natterjacks

There’s loads more but I’m sick so my brain is cloudy.

It basically rains/snows about 170 days out of the year.

At my end:

I'll be there 3rd week of January for 5 days, I may stay a bit longer and travel to London with colleagues and do some skate tourism if its not to sketchy.

Heard of them before, lots of DSM stuff, their decks are pretty well priced so I'll definitely check them out.

Solid, thanks @Síota / @Frosty178 / @Easy Slider / @Creachteach

I'll be travelling to the UK (Reading) in January for a work conference, may stick around for a few days to skate some spots. I don't want to check in a suitcase with a deck, I'll so I'll pack my trucks and wheels and get a board shipped from a local shop.

Which are the bigger stores in the UK or EU that can do affordable decks (and other soft goods) and shipping? I'll place the order a week before I arrive so I can pick it up from the concierge when I'm there.

If it's going to be too cold and wet to skate in the UK in early January do let me know too, so I'll save myself the disappointment.

Thanks!

Reading is a 30 minute train ride from London, so you should be able to pop up and do some skating. South Bank is undercover, so that will be skateable, and there's a few indoor places you could try; Bay66 being the probably the best. Route One has a shop in central London, or you could order online from them. Slam City are more east, and 3 amigos are slightly north.

I think you mean F51 in Folekstone:

https://f51.co.uk/

It's actually not too difficult to get to from London if you get the fast train from St. Pancras.  An amazing facility that's empty for a lot of the time.

i figure it's a shop with a very large online presence so they can afford these kinds of sales as they sell a ton of shit anyway, having their own brands etc.

it's kind of like a swedish skate warehouse or something similar from the looks of it.

This store on Valencia has discounts in a bunch of things.
They ship to UE for €9, at least that's why I paid to CZ.
They have plenty of brands and most likely you'll find something with a big discount.

If you live in Germany, Austria or Swiss or maybe anywhere else in Europe, check the shop from the homies. They are closing the shop until the end of the year and want to get rid of stuff. https://no-comply.de/ (https://no-comply.de/)

A bunch of stuff from Mob/Polster is on sale. 17€ titanium trucks, 30€ decks (HLC?), 12€ Film trucks, etc. Those Ti Polster trucks are my favorite:

Similar turn, very slightly longer wheelbase. Like +3.3" instead of 3.25"(forged thunder). I don't think I could notice a difference, other than the much harder grind

They feel like a slightly more turn-y Venture High to me. Did you have the stage 6's? I think they changed the geometry for stage 7, although I'm not sure.

The top washers kept becoming concave. If you have the same problem send me a DM with your address and I'll ship you some titanium washers that don't bend, for free.

5.8 V-Hollows come in at 340g, the titan 5.8 Polsters weigh 306g. So they're 10% lighter.

I ended up giving mine to the homie who switched to monster truck wheels for exactly that reason. Didn't skate them much before but I'd say they felt like Thunder and Venture had a baby.

alright homies - time for an update.
pulled the trigger on the pre black friday sale primitive mystery 3 deck pack. i placed the order on sunday evening. package already arrived on wednesday noon. so, shipping from the us to my country was super fast. dhl had some mentions of customs/taxes but i did not receive any notice or something about it and also the package was originally sealed, so i doubt that customs had a look in it to determine the net worth of the goods upon which customs are calculated here.

this is what i received:

pretty hyped on the selection. i already had the exact desarmo board like a year ago and really loved the deck because it skated so good. strange thing, i only received one sheet of grip, despite ordering three decks. but whatever. could not care less. so all in all it was 45 eur per deck shipped, which is a super nice price. 10/10 experience. would order again (if everything would play out the same way as it did). plus the thrill of blind buy was cool and a nice surprise/suspense before opening the box.
bonus: old ass lakai manchester MO knows which serve as my working shoes for home renovations.

skatedeluxe offers 20% on "almost all skate hardgoods". First instinct was to load up on f4s but they are apparently not included. Got some ace trucks though. And it seems like deluxe decks are included, coupled with the fact that some boards from older drops are still around you can get a deluxe board for almost pre covid price

thanks for that, i bought 2 pop boards for a birthday gift (to myself) and my homie got a set of ventures and it was 162 euros shipped, that's nice

I know some french post up in here as well.
Seems like there are two Balargue skate shops.
One is:
https://balargueskateshop.com/

And the other is:
https://www.balargueskateshop.shop/

The second one is interesting because they have some sick deals atm, but it doesn’t say where they’re shipping from.

Is it a legit shop?

Hey man
Thanks for the heads up.
the one with the url ending "*j.shop" is actually a fake/scam site. website architecture is kinda silly, inventory partly comes from my website and everything is discounted.
Another customer told me about it last week and i'm working on reporting it. I didn't know about it.

You're safe on www.balargueskateshop.com

Have any of you Euro heads seen these New Balances for sale anywhere? Been looking for weeks but haven't seen anything pop up on the continent.

I thought it was too good to be true.
Hope you have luck taking them down. Neither community nor you need scams trying to make life miserable for us.

SkateDeluxe has a mid season sale. Everything on their sale section goes down by 25% with code MIDSEASON25
Just got a Santa Cruz and Flip with grip for €76 shipping included.
Not crazy about any of the brands but for that price is a bargain in my book.

checked it already and got some NB 808s for 65€ as well as a dickies winter jacket for 40€ instead of 150€ or so, quite the deal.

wanted to try the code again but it said it was already used, so be thoughtful, slappers!

Not necessarily sale related, but anyone knows if there is any Euro shop that got wheat/navy colorway of Tiagos (these ones (https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQMQM1TvJlnuO6pRNd8NOm19PIjP7ucXprdBbTSDCto0w&s)) in stock in EU 47.5/UK 12.5?

Been searching all over to no avail. The most I found was EU 46.5/UK 11.5.
