Was anyone actually able to get one? I tried my local, NHS, and basically any shop I could think. Super bummed.....

They were supposed to be 'live' at 7am, bunch of shops broke the street time by selling after midnight; scalpers with bots, of course, bought most of that shit...go look at eBay...sucks; I was going to drop for a few of them for wall hangers.

I missed several of the midnight and 9am drops, but somehow snagged one from a skatewarehouse promo email saying they were available. Felt bad ordering from SW on "skate shop day" but I did also place an order thru NJ skateshop today so it balances out I guess.

I somehow lucked out after trying to order from different shops early morning online. Ended up getting on on Tactics website. Those things were selling within 30 seconds of release time on every shops site. Cant wait to see which one i got though!

You got the best one in my opinion. I'm hoping to get that one as well. I'm not sure how i feel about the all gold and all silver ones. Maybe they are better in person.

Dude in front of me got a silver one and I fondled thee gold one in another store. They did nothing for me but one owner was into them. If i'd got the gold or silver I would have skated it or sold it.

We sold ours in person only, 1 per customer.
The amount of calls and dm's was crazy, like a dunk.
I got one and got the photo board, that was my top choice, very stoked.
The gold and silver ones didn't do anything for me, most customers opened theirs in store and I didn't see any of the limited ones.
I wasn't trying to put them on our site and have someone try to buy them all.
NHS should have done an apparel drop with them, photo t shirt and hoodie along with classic panther gear in new colors would have sold so well.

So this is sorta related and mostly occurred to me when I looked to see what the different graphics in the bag might be but does anyone know why the reissue graphic is different then the graphic as it was originally issued? See the super rare NOS board on the bag for an example of what I'm talking about. It looks like it's been completely redrawn even if the composition is the same and then the monster arm and orb were added. From what Frank and Fred posted, they did reissue the OG graphic at one point but it's been the redrawn one only for some time now. I would love to know the story there.
EDIT: Now that I looked at F&F's pic again, it looks like they added a digital coloring or airbrush effect to the OG graphic too so maybe that counts as a redraw as well.

That's pretty lame. It was fun thing, especially for those of us that came of age during the Natas era, but the collecting madness is a little disgusting. I like knowing that some Slap Pals are going to skate some.

Seems someone in the know let slip there were over 5000 decks worldwide, so although that might sound like a lot, it is still fairly limited for a worldwide release, especially since it seems most are in the US, but again, as I am not personally interested, it doesn't really matter to me.

XEN is correct. Its the same wood they use for all their re-issues. Noting special but its solid. I skated the shit out of a Tom Knox issue so these can be safely ridden properly I am sure.
I got mine for $90. Lots of shops went up to $100.

blind bag, blue metal flake, glow in the dark reissues are an original design that was never put into production. they made a handful or possibly only one. i think its in the disposable history book and there is a photo of it here

TGM had a limit of 5, zumiez had a limit of 3 and others like skate warehouse and nhs had a limit of 2. Im in Moab UT so there aint a skateshop within 2 hours of here, the place that carries some stuff in town is closed for moving.
Im a natas nut so of course im trying to get em all, but i personally hate things like this. Its baseball card, collectable bs. I dont think its fun, or "for the real fans". Blind bags should have been open preorders, get as many as you want so people have time to get on and reserve them as fans. Then press up the total preorders you get plus some extras. The limit 1 per person when there are 6 standard designs sucks for people who are real fans and just want them. Same thing with the lance Natas capsules. 3 colors and you can only order one. My mental hoarder collector disorder kicks in and i want them all. Was able to get 2 colors of that, but missed the yellow.

Someone could have bought five or more from somewhere and just kept them in the box.
But yeah the prebook that has happened on almost everything else seemed like a much better way to regulate the buying and I still get those emails from Old Skull shop and a couple of others. Maybe there are lots more still to be sold, listed or distributed too, but who knows.

Yeah I never had the 2009 bible to know any difference to the anniversary. The 2004 book had a bunch of stuff in it that my 2019 bible does not, this natas deck being the most recent find.

I'm still waiting on mine in the mail...but I started to think, I wonder if the majority of the hand painted ones and signed ones are the ones shipped directly from NHS to customers. It would make more sense for them to have more of them coming directly from them to the customers over to the shops. I could be totally wrong but just a thought. Wonder how they made sure shops didn't get all foil decks or stuff like that.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I have the version of Disposable that has the Napping Negro page and then the prototype Natas graphic as well. The Natas section was so far back I don't think I ever noticed it. Neat to know that was a prototype graphic from back in the day. I rode a red stain OG back in 89 so I was super familiar with what the graphic looked like and the "new" version bugged me.

watch ebay like a hawk the next few days when people start getting theirs in the mail. the photo sequence should be pretty cheap, seems to be one of the designs people dont like. a few sold for $100 already which is barely a premium over new. it will bottom out maybe even at cost and then probably start going up again when the supply dies off after awhile.

Great marketing idea by the Santa Cruz crew. I totally lucked out in coming across this promo the day before it happened and calling up a shop and scoring one of the boards over the phone. Picked it up yesterday and actually got the one I liked (gold foil and metallic). The shop I purchased it from did it right by limiting one per customer and not selling them until their usual business hours. www.a51.ca
Disappointing to see some people able to buy more than one from shops in one transaction. I can understand and even appreciate contacting various outlets trying to score more. Even worse when seeing what appears to be a shop manager taking video of staff opening the bags up and stacking them on the counter.
I'm now hoping more companies follow and do the limited runs like this

This wasn't Santa Cruz's first time. They did something like this a few years ago with Garbage Pail Kids - I missed out on those.
But I kind of agree and disagree with companies doing limited runs like these. It'll become a bad habit and it'll become the Dunk SB fiasco all over. Making use of every bit of nostalgia graphic while resellers take everything and the people who want them won't be able to get them.

I think limited releases can be fun however nowadays everyone thinks they can be a reseller. I’m so sick of bots and resellers. Limited releases for me have lost all the fun

Hardflip from last night. I’m really having fun on this setup. I’ve skated it after work pretty much everyday this week. Flips pretty easily too which I was not expecting. This thing is gigantic and small at the same time. I’m going to swap out the 215s for some ace 66. Anyone else skating theirs?

Apparently some European shops, like Furtivo, are going to get them with a few weeks of delay.
They said first week of March, finally something like this that gets to Europe too...

Managed to grab a third this weekend at a shop where they set a few aside quietly.
I like the silver foil a lot more in person than I thought I would.

I legit think the silver and gold are the most set up decks. As people cared for them the least.

Someone got the 1 0f 1 today.....I read that Santa Cruz atually bought this off a deck collector to be able to add it in a blind bag.
Like Charlie and the chocolate factory, the golden ticket had to turn up sooner or later.
Was the 1 of 1 from Natas himself (as it it came from his own collection of his old first issue decks) or am I thinking of some other Natas deck that was of interest recently?
Either way not a worry and yes those things are ridiculous in price and collectable value.

It wasn't from Natas himself. NHS bought it off some board collector guy last year for 3,500 so they could add it in 1 of the blind bags. Seems like the guy sold it for very little seeing how big this blind bag thing turned out to be. I think he should of got closer to 10 grand for it.

And yes looking back at it, I would think that with all the hype it is definitely worth a lot more than that right now, but if the hype dies down, things might go back to normal.
Maybe the most anyone would have paid for a single deck even though there are ridiculous things on ebay going well over $25,000 asking price, a McGill just sold for $5,259 but surely something even harder to get would be worth a lot more?

Not my top choice in what i wanted, but i cant complain when the whole point was to get a surprise colorway. seeing it in person definitely made me appreciate this variant way more though. The pictures don't really do it justice. Very hard to capture what your eyes actually see in person.

Made a mini cruiser for my daughter.
Out of the sticker that is on the bag.
Cut an old deck and stuck the sticker. Then cut out the design with a knife. Just have to put a clear vynle wrap over the top. Some ace 03 and green mini super juices. Will post pics of finished product

I don't think they intended them to come off. But the shop I got mine had one on the bathroom wall. Lol. Takes a little effort to get off. Needs a clear wrap over it because some edges did not restock well

As I really wasn't interested, I hadn't seen much if any of the lead up to this release, but it would appear that after I did a little research, there are a lot of people who were keen and missed out, and then there are others who have bought and are stoked they got one, or two, or twenty?!?!?

I got two, both were black custom prismatics.
Its a seriously cool colorway or whatever, but I got two.
Luckily my shop called me and asked if I wanted to trade one for a gold. I said YEP.
Some friends got together and got me a gift card for the shop for taking them on a snowboard trip. I picked up some Ace 66s, some 58mm F4s, and G3s, grip, etc.
I set it up, and my son and I skated it on our brand new mini ramp, just installed yesterday.
It was a good day.
