In this thread, post songs that are replaying in your head during super emo moments in your life
These songs don’t have to be part of the emo genre but they can be
Example:
I was sad about being alone after a breakup in 2013 and this was my song
https://youtu.be/5Pmd3YHSS1I
ALSO
I was contemplating my life on a long drive today and this was my song
https://youtu.be/yorP__90ogs
Just post songs that get you really mixed up or sad or introspective
-
This is a fairly new addition to my wallowing in my woes soundtrack, and it goes for 16 minutes. That's some good one song wallowing.

this song will hit me in any mood. totally a moment to just turn on the soft waterworks and let both crushing sadness and loneliness and the wonderment of being alive take the wheel simultaneously.

this one off that record is pretty depressingly miserable but in a love listening to it kinda way..
people always bag on jets for not being jawbreaker enough..just different band but equally amazing lyrics

real emo headz unite!
damn, I was only familiar with twelve hour turn from their split with I hate myself but damn this track you posted was awesome
Also I really dig the album artwork - it looks like it could be a Jeremy Wray graphic for Color or something haha
continuing down the path...

Here's another one from their second full-length:
https://youtu.be/AYX6ZG67h4E
I bought this in Portland on a coast-to-coast-to-coast USA road trip and listening to it almost exclusively the whole way back to the east coast.
I was introduced to them via their split with Engine Down, which at the time, was known amongst my friends as "the band that some of the Sleepytime Trio guys started".
There are lots of memories associated with their music.

its so tough to make a call - but if I had to pick ONE 90's emo band to call the best, it would be Mineral
Both of their albums are amazing

don’t want to turn this into the unpopular opinions thread, but i gotta say, jets was head and shoulders better than jawbreaker. if a band called pedro the lion doesn’t exist, orange rhyming dictionary is probably the greatest emo record ever made
-
I don't claim to be well versed in emo (in fact I probably need a starters guide),
but didn't this band basically get no attention whatsoever until they broke up, only to be worshipped afterwards?
http://youtu.be/Jcrg3KvT_WM
whatever genre they are, I absolutely love them <3
I've actually wanted to make a thread about painted thin for some time because they've been a constant in my listening now for well over 20 years (like most mid 90s Winnipeg bands), they are often pigeon holed into pop punk genre which I don't think does their legacy justice!
http://youtu.be/GamFxQ3sYtk
sounds pretty emo (and fucking divine) to my ears, but again I'm not sure because I'm not versed in traditional emo.
Either way I rate both of the above bands!
-
https://youtu.be/B_JUbLzKhqw
This is about as emo as I get but it’s legit as
None of that whiny pissant shit about trife shit

I listened to this record on repeat during the plane ride to my first deployment that effectively ended my youth. https://youtu.be/SDWPLJW4IhI
Saw them in a living room where they got into an argument with each other and I believe they broke up during their set. It was very tense but I guess it fit the music. Great band.

This song makes me feel really emo and def has that vibe more so than anything they made after Pinkerton.
Amazing song. I love it so much. And it had the word Shalom in it.

Weezer is dope. Blue and Pinkerton are great albums period, good coming of age tracks. You can feel how Rivers grew from his mysoginistics lyrics too.

I just stumbled across this album, depression has been hitting extra hard lately and it was just the right blend of fun and mopey for me right now. Kinda stoner rock/party punk/emo hybrid, I liked it a lot, hopefully you guys dig it too!

Mineral came on while shuffling through some songs this morning
I still stand behind what I said earlier in this thread by saying they're the best 'midwest' 90s emo band

So I talked about this little 7" a few pages back and was actually able to find another copy the other day; in a sea of emo 7" it mightn't seem like much but there weren't many bands in Australia doing this style at the time. They also did a split with Blake but I'm still unable to track down a copy. Anyway, if you're interested check the one drive link below (not mine):
https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21ABr991Uty%2Dbmc8g&id=6EB02FD88A0ED15B%2116047&cid=6EB02FD88A0ED15B
also, if you go back to the main menu in said one drive there is a shitload of emo albums in there, quite the treasure-trove!!!

I got a Smiths songs that I listened to constantly during a cold winter where I had a particularly poor period of mental health in my early 20s... This one is when I'm feeling sorry for myself
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpRhZnlXDNI
And this one for when I start feeling the will to live again. The lyrics are pretty corny but some of my favorite for when I'm sick of feeling like shit.

how come rites of spring and skewbald rule but fugazi sucks so bad?
It took me a long time to get into Fugazi but once I stopped wanting them to be a punk band they started to make a lot more sense to me.
Aside from that, has anyone listened to the new City of Caterpillar album? I'm tired of reunion albums ruining band's perfect discographies so I haven't been game to check it out yet. I also can't stomach screamo anymore unless it's really really fucking good like CoC's first album.
