Title: Is Time Code Seriously Worth $800 on VHS?
Post by: Tear Up a Trick on March 11, 2021, 05:57:10 PM
I just one of these going for 8 hundred on ebay.  Is that the most you've ever seen a skate VHS going for?  Is anyone gonna claim it for that much?  Is anyone buying or selling?

Hate to be that guy, but it's worth whatever people will pay. That said, other copies sold for far, far less, so I think this guy might be dreaming. The reality is that old skate shit is becoming increasingly more popular. After this, the sky seems to be the limit

Can't find the listing you are talking about. Looks like they are going for around $80-100, which I think is a decent price.

Maybe I'm tripping but this is what I think I see with my own eyes:

I was looking this up just the other day for curiosities sake and saw 3-4 listed from $150-$250 and then the one you posted. I could list one for $10,000, but I think pekkaaa's right on about the actual value.

People listing crazy prices means nothing. The actual mystery is why this Photosynthesis went for $347 when most are going for $30-50...

Something weird going on there. It jumped from $36 to $342 in a single bid, so it probably wasn't genuine. Only video I see going for a couple of hundred on eBay is Mother.

You’re spot on with this. People will pay. There’s people trying to sell Dylan Gravis’ for 1,000.00

Damn.  Wasn't the Dylan video free with a magazine and only came in a paper sleeve?  I have it.  People always think stuff is worth way more than it is.

If you search completed listings, they’re all going for about $100.

I wonder how much I could get for my Memory Screen VHS? Or the sealed copy of G&S Footage I have (kind of the precursor to Memory Screen)?

Not actually trying to sell either, was more curious about what collectors might value them at.

Years ago I was gifted a huge box of VHS's from a local who used to own a skateshop. Although some of the most well known classics were missing, there were two copies of Footage, and one was still sealed. Stoked Listen was in there too.

Bah! We moved about 4 years back and my wife just tossed all of our VHS tapes. Goldfish, Mouse, Photosynthesis, Menikmati to name a few.
