I expected Tiago to be bigger in person, like 6'2" and hench. He's about 5'9" and has an athletic build, slim but muscular.

5.11 seems about right. I saw Dylan in person once and I was super impressed at how powerful he was even though he looked so skinny. He skated a super steep and Rough Bank and backslid it with no wax every try while filming a line. I had skated that spot for years and I didn‘t even think that trick was possible even with a lot of wax.
5.11 is the average height of males in Germany. It is above average for German skaters, though.
Skaters heights is my favorite topic. I thought Heath would be much bigger. He was about 5.8
The same with Jon Dixon. He‘s even shorter, about 5.6 He was really buff though. He looked like a professional gymnist or Olympic wrestler or something.

I thought Victor Aceves was gonna become one of the mainstays for Emerica and Foundation. It’s really too bad he absolutely shredded his knee. I guess it’s not over for him yet, but the guy can still barely move his foot well over a year later. I’m still rooting for him though, seems like a nice kid.

I swore I saw Alex Olson on the subway in Brooklyn a few years ago looking rather short, but then a bunch of people in the AO thread insisted that he was actually “taller than Dylan.” At the same time, a bunch of people agreed with me that he was actually short.
So I think there are a few possible explanations.
1. People who think Alex and Dylan are/were “tall” are actually short lil skate ppl, easily impressed by even average height
2. There are multiple AO doppelgängers hanging around NYC
3. Online celebrity height listings are ALWAYS inflated by at least an inch or two
4. Alex was standing on his tiptoes in the fat bill portrait photo where he looks taller than Dylan (not so far fetched, he’s a very vain guy)
5. AO actually *is* a tall fella and I was tripping on the subway that day (I do smoke a lot of weed, and I always have trouble recognizing faces, even people I know)

I misjudged the size of sponsored/pro women skaters I see on IG. I went to the X Games in 2019 and they're all under 5'4". Jenn Soto is like 5 feet tall and 90 lbs and I thought she looked tall and lanky on her IG
in term of career and stuff like that I don't know how to judge anymore. I thought Malto was going to be bigger but then I look at his IG and he has 1M follower and still on Nike so maybe he is big and I just stopped paying attention.

I saw him at the same Emerica Demo where I saw Jon Dixon. I always thought Heath was my height too. I am about 6 foot tall. Figgy was at the same demo. He is actually a really big guy. I‘d say 6.4 at least.

Surprisingly to me was that Koston was so tall. The tallest dude from that crowd though is Rick Howard. He is like the tallest guy associated with Girl and Chocolate. he's like 1-2 inches taller than BA. I think that makes him one of the tallest pro skaters in history

Unless you are talking about Pancho Moler, it is way easier to stand out in skating for being 6 foot plus, than being sub 5'7. It's why people like Caleb Barnett, and Figgy stand out as giants relative to their peers.

I’m nowhere near that (I’m 1m84 don’t know what it converts to in feet) and most skaters I meet are smaller. In fact the better skaters at my locals tend to be short

A fair amount of prominent older pros (Hawk, Blender, Schroeder) are tall.
Lots of sponsored skaters are pretty short, though - maybe the reduced center of gravity and lower severity of slams plays a role.
I always thought forest would blow up much more than he did - just stayed in the black box camp and water-logged his career before it even started.

I saw Mike V. watching an am contest when he just joined World Industries. Was surprised that he was both short and scrawny. He may have grown since then (IMDB lists him as 5'10").

So many pro skaters in general are extremely scrawny. I'm a small guy, but am often surprised at how bird-boned a lot of these guys are. Even a lot of the average height fellas are like 130 lbs. I do think that being super light is a lot easier on the knees, hence skating probably selects heavily for really light guys.

What really gets me is the skinniness of some pros’ legs who still have massive pop. Lucien Clarke’s calves look like they are all bone, for example. Might have to do with being a couture model in his case, but I’m sure there’s other as well
Ps I have very skinny legs myself but I have the non-pop to match them.

Most pros are shorter then 6ft. Average height is probably about 5,10 for a pro skater. I always wonder if foot size plays into ability.
Brian Anderson taught me how to tre flip and his secret was it’s all in his back big toe. He has some big ass feet so I’m sure it really is just a matter of flicking his big toe but for me I’m using all my toes and I still can’t do that trick.

Crazy to see what a steaming pile of burn outs the mystery team turned into apart from Gilby. It's an all dwarf line-up, like maybe the chief wouldn't hire anyone taller than him? Lower center of gravity definitely seems to help but not as much as shoe size, the fact that sample size is 9 and Quasi and FA refuse to put out a board over 8.5 says a lot, hilarious to see a normal size dude like Caleb Barnett on what literally looks like a popsicle stick. Then you look at T-Blood and the rest of the termite gang and wonder if starting to skate earlier in life, like drinking coffee or smoking weed, somehow locks you in as a man child? Like fucks up your bone growth? I've said it before and I'll say it again Mark Suciu probably gets youth sized boxes.

How tall is Suciu? I have had alot of debates with a friend about Suciu's size. We agree that he's our favorite street skater, but he thinks he's 6 foot plus and my experience with meeting pros has taught me they are almost all shorter than they appear. I am convinced he's about 5.10 or maybe 5.11

He’s still around, had some high level stuff in the recent Quasi vid. His problem is he doesn’t do social media enough like most pros but also doesn’t avoid it enough to make it apart of his image like how Jake Johnson does.

skaters in general are shorter dudes for sure, tall skaters would be a much shorter list.
i think its just the forced perspective of the image with the taller dudes in the back and shorter ones in front.
Judging by the size of his head, I am 99% sure they photoshopped Adrian Lopez to be taller in this picture.

Most pros are shorter then 6ft. Average height is probably about 5,10 for a pro skater. I always wonder if foot size plays into ability.
Brian Anderson taught me how to tre flip and his secret was it’s all in his back big toe. He has some big ass feet so I’m sure it really is just a matter of flicking his big toe but for me I’m using all my toes and I still can’t do that trick.
So he actually didn't teach you how to Tre flip then?

Dylan. Seems so lanky on video but he was quite short irl. Definitely not 6 foot 1 as wiki has it (just checked). 5 11 at most I'd say. Made the stuff he did that much more impressive. Austyn as well.

Haha, nailed it. I just meant quite short compared to what I expected. Must have been the slim fits and giant pop. He was about my height which is indeed below average in this part of the world.
5.11 seems about right. I saw Dylan in person once and I was super impressed at how powerful he was even though he looked so skinny. He skated a super steep and Rough Bank and backslid it with no wax every try while filming a line. I had skated that spot for years and I didn‘t even think that trick was possible even with a lot of wax.
5.11 is the average height of males in Germany. It is above average for German skaters, though.
Skaters heights is my favorite topic. I thought Heath would be much bigger. He was about 5.8
The same with Jon Dixon. He‘s even shorter, about 5.6 He was really buff though. He looked like a professional gymnist or Olympic Redford or something.
Always wondered kircharts height, thought he was taller. Where did you see that info? Or you saw him in person? Im about 6 07 (1,85m) imagined he was around it haha
I saw him at the same Emerica Demo where I saw Jon Dixon. I always thought Heath was my height too. I am about 6 foot tall. Figgy was at the same demo. He is actually a really big guy. I‘d say 6.4 at least.

One of my friend is like 1m65 and thinks I’m 2 meters tall lol. I’m 1m84. The worst part is he lied for his identity card and passport so it reads 1m80 on it. Meanwhile I’ve had the same passport for like 6 years since I was 14 and it says I’m 1m78. We always tease him for it but it’s in good spirits everyone has their insecurities I guess.

Yeah height discussion is a circus, and honestly 5’8 isn’t even that short. I honestly think the average height is much shorter than what is advertised because people lie constantly on these nation wide polls but the worst has to be Hollywood stars pages where fans add like 5 inches for no reason. Idk man, shits weird.
